In this video Canadian Guitarist/producer Dean Wolfe aka Prog Dog reacts to PFM (Premiata Forneria Marconi) and Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull) LIVE - La Carrozza di Hans
A LITTLE ABOUT ME: I'm Dean Wolfe, a mostly self-taught Canadian guitarist/composer/multi-instrumentalist/singer/producer/performer. I started out as a full time musician, on the road at age 17 for two years, then went part-time ever since, while holding day careers including chef and spiritual health care while raising a family.
As a producer I've made hundreds of my own songs for media and award winning documentaries etc. I've been in several bands including a prog/jazz fusion act nFuze, performing in International Jazz festivals and jazz clubs. I mostly abandoned the prog genre in the 90s but have returned to it now with vigour 30 years later. So much prog! My own prog band was rejected by record labels as "too progressive' in the late 80s, so i detoured into grunge, pop and alternative instead (then folk / acoustic fingerstyle guitar and ambient electronic as well).

I was so lucky being there that night. Rome, 2010 "prog exhibition". PFM is still in activity and they rule!

I saw those guys live around 10 years ago, in a small fair. The place was tiny, and the tickets price super low (like 30 euros for five different concert in the same week), so we expected not too much.
These guys came out at like 11 pm and played until 2 and a half. At their age. Really a whole different tier.

    DEAN, thanks for the reaction.
Photos of Ghosts is a very good album. I love it.

I saw PFM in '74 at the August Jam in Charlotte, with ELP, Allmans, etc. They played "Celebration" and many others for me and 250k other f*ckers packed like sardines in the Charlotte Motor Speedway. Strange I've never been to a race there. PFM and ELP rocked the house. I left before Allmans, thinking ELP should have been the topper.

I d recommend getting the original italian vinyls from PFM. The one you have is an english lyric reissue with songs from the original releases and in my opinion the mix sounds less powerful.

I'd love that, but I need to accumulate some cash first!

I agree. I have both and the Italian are 'better'.

@@deanwolfechannel By original italian I meant the ones sang in Italian, not necessarily imported. So there should be several cheap US editions.

If you listen various renditions there is not a single track identical to another. So, is not with tracks. They are simply amazing live 😉

I recommend you listen to "Maestro della Voce" dedicated to the singer of AREA and their friend Demetrio Stratos, who died prematurely, the most beautiful voice of Italian rock and beyond.
