Amazing! May i share a new idea I read about for a more textured finish? It’s adding sand to the acrylic paint for that texture the PB lamps had. Yours were still super with the shading/blending texture tho!
Uber stylish. I would love you to keep track of the time each project takes. Drying time. Shopping for supplies. Setting up. Clean ups. Clothing and safety gear cleaning and storage.
Good morning from another desert dweller! I had no plans to revamp-my-lamp this morning. But then your mock P.Barn lamp inspired me! It took me 10 minutes to transform my lamp and it's just what it needed. Thank you!!!
Sadly, most people don't think they're handy enough, or capable of a project like this. I'm an artist (painter, former illustrator) by trade, but I can't begin to count the thousands of repair/restore/ or fabrication projects I've done in my small cellar workshop. As a gallery artist, I also run an Etsy antiques store, and I'm always fixing up something from the auction. Your lamp facelift is the perfect choice to show people that just about anyone can do this. This is the thing that opens the mental doors for people!
Thank you Dave! I feel the same way. I have so many friends that say "I could never do that" and I show them the video and they say "oh wow thats not as hard as I thought". I have hopes that my videos are helping keep more usable items out of the dump. Very cool that you do illustrations!
@@DesertDIY Oh yes! 'Not as hard as I thought' is the real change in people. Many years ago now, I stood in a store looking at stained glass shades. I wanted one over the stove in my old studio. I studied them and wondered..how hard can this be?' I'm not an illustrator anymore; today I paint for a couple galleries (click on avatar - "Renaissance Rabbit"...)
These were the exact Pottery Barn lamps I was trying to justify spending a fortune on! Lucky me...I found your DIY site first! Now I'm on a mission for similar lamp bases. Thank you so much!!!
Wow!! Your inspiration lamps were great, but I love your execution and end result of your lamps more! I, too love Pottery Barn! It's a great place for accent pieces and general inspiration.
I am heading to Goodwill in the morning! I am so inspired! Will be starting small and working my way up to something larger. Or should I say, when I get brave enough to tackle a large project. LOL! Love your lamps!
I really love your much better than the pottery barn, one great job will be trying this once I find the perfect lamp for my bedroom and Living Room. Thanks for the inspiration.
You did amazing! Am already a subscriber to Yami - great to see/hear you guys supporting one another! The lamps look super fantastic!! I don't know who those current thumbs down people are - but they are crazy.
Looks fantastic! I did a Pottery Barn dupe on a lamp earlier this summer on a hunter green ginger jam lamp that I have had for more than 25 years. The Pottery Barn lamps were dark earthy colors with a clay like rough texture. After priming I used wall spackling and dabbed it on with a paintbrush. Then layers of earthy colored paints until I achieved the look I wanted. I love it and like your dupe, the originals were $400! So satisfying to get a look you love for less. Love your channel
Those are beautiful Cory!!! I love finding lamps at thrift stores and those had good bones. They complete that table! Amazing savings girl! Love it! Thank you for co-hosting with me! 🥰
What do you think? Did I nail the look for less? Thank you so much for watching and supporting my channel. Have a wonderful day everyone !
Lol exactly what I was going to say...you nailed it!
Thank you!!!!

@@MotoMeemaw very cool idea! I have heard of adding salt also. I will have to try that in the future

How prefessional your work is. They became more beautifull than the expensive ones. Can you make a film about how to renovate a lamp shade?
