My sister used to work there in the food court as a teenager. I will never forget the memory of walking in the food court, full of neon lights and amazing colors, delicious smells of all kinds foods and everyone having a great time with friends and family. Very sad it’s gone. I get very nostalgic when I see 80s 90s food courts and shopping malls on movies and shows (like in Stranger Things).
Who was the manager of the Gap? My first job was working at the Gap. Funny story, when loss prevention tags were fist introduced my sister and I would go into Foley's and put loss prevention tags on women's panties and then sneak them into men's shopping bags. Then we would wait outside of Folye's indide the mall and watch as these men would walk out and Beep Beep Beep.... It was priceless.
i use to go to that movie theatre with my family almost all the time. sad to see it be all gone now. the movie theatre was a great place tbh. fun fact too is my mom use to work at 2 places in the mall. she worked at a department store i think and that one place that started with brookes. (in my personal opinion if there was more talk abt it the mall would’ve still been there and prob would still have some shoppers or more now)
idk why but i thought about this mall recently and decided to look up videos of it… it just turned 2022 and everyone still prefers the parks mall and the newish great southwest grand prairie mall. for 6flags mall i mainly remember halloween and the boneyard but i have way more memories at parks mall tbh… plus parks isn’t a pain to get to like this one was.
This was very heartwarming. I knew the mall was in a steep decline when my family and i moved here in my early teens. 01. I actually got my haircut at that mall the Sunday night before my 1st day @ Martin High School. It was convenient for the family to travel.out there and do discount shopping while I got my haircut. I will.never forget a man handing out Spinal Tap stickers. I thought it was sooo cool. 😂 did not go back to the mall until 2005 when I had a very steady GF and we decided to go on cheaper dates using the movie theater. I was always perplexed at the slow decay of the place. I was soo excited for Plaza Central and kept up with news of all the struggles the new owner faced trying to make it a Mexican themed Mall. Crazy Sad. Now its been 4 years. Great video. I need to find my old pictures and do something of the same
Thanks so much for your comment! I also went to Martin! My friends and I used to LOVE the cheap movie theater at this mall and would go there all the time. I still miss it so much.
My mother went to Martin high school and went shopping there a lot. I’m just hearing about this mall ever existing but I wish I could have seen it with my own eyes. Anyways I just thought it was cool to see someone say they went to the school I’m going to now
Sad. So many memories made here. The lot has been made into the millionth warehouse in the DFW area. Seriously, too many fucking warehouses in the DFW. I would have preferred the lot would have been made into a park, or a newer shopping center. Something the people can enjoy.
I went here once during the Six Flags days, and then another time when it was Plaza Central. The Foley's sign inside was still up well after the store closed. Plaza Central was doomed from the start, the opening was delayed several times, and they were never able to get any anchors reopened.
I remember when the Sanger Harris store was there. And when The Von Erich wrestlers, Kerry and Kevin, made an appearance there. I met Lance Von Erich at the Oshman’s there while he was shopping.
How sad. I went every weekend back in the late 70s-early 80s. I lived in Sherman, but had a season pass to six flags & would always do some shopping there, while in town. Great memories. Too bad it had to go.
Christmas 1980: I was 6 years old and I got lost in the crowd. I ended up finding a dude dressed as Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer over by Jas K Wilson's clothing store. He took me over to a cop and they were able to reunite me with my folks after about an hour. True story :)
at least partly, The cops where doing a lot of stuff in a the area to combat crime, and it didnt matter if you were a shopper or criminal, they harassed everyone equally. Maybe shoppers more so cause the criminals avoided them
A lot of the good stores closed up and were replaced by something that felt like a flea market. It's not like I'm going shopping for fake jewelry or airbrushed t-shirts just to help keep a mall open. I did shop at the Dillard's clearance store sometimes though. I grew up near this mall but now live 30-40 minutes away so it wasn't a quick trip anymore either.
This is so sad, I grew up going mostly to the Forum 303 Mall, but went to 6 Flags mall, too. I had a strange experience at 6 Flags mall before they closed... I went to the cologne counter at Foley's, and as I recall, 4 (FOUR) sales ladies were behind the counter, and every single one of them ignored me, literally. (Not a racial thing, we were all the same race.) I wanted to BUY something, HA. Wow, it was odd. Maybe they didn't want to sell anything because that would have meant more paperwork at the end of the day? Or maybe they wanted to save it for themselves after marked down to clearance prices.
Oddly enough, my parents and I were talking about this the other day and they said their car was broken into 3 times in that parking lot. My dad ended up buying a steering wheel lock.
a little late but, in the mid 80's I was meeting a friend ( was in high school at the time)there, We were leaving one car and taking the other to go somewhere in FT Worth. While setting in the middle of the parking lot(Hwy 80 side) not near any other cars ( so I could be seen as there were no cell phones) Got bored went to a store got a soda called to find out if my friend was on the way, left word of where I was parked and returned to the mall, and parked again. after what seemed a few mins a black Fiero with dark windows parked next to me, the window rolled down and I was staring at a 38 revolver, it was APD, After a short question and answer period and several WTF's are you doing pointing a gun at me, I was let go, finding out my friend had arrived and seen most of it. That was in 85 never went back to the 6 flags mall, even when I was dating a girl that worked at Dino's subs on the back side where the theater was ( along time ago), told her I wouldnt meet at her job after work we could meet somewhere else. The police were too concerned with people doing nothing to worry about criminals.
Thank you for. Sharing my memories as well 🙋♀️,
Thanks so much for watching!
Ah, the memories. Remember lots of time spent there, even worked there for a bit. Thank you for this video.

Yes! This mall was such a huge part of my childhood! I was devastated when they tore it down.
The pizza brothers were awesome. Can’t recall the name but I always had a slice when I went there

I shopped there when Foley's was Sanger Harris. This is so sad.
What are they going to build in that area?
I miss these malls.I remember them well.
I remember going to this mall often. It was either here or Forum 303, or The Parks Mall. What a crazy childhood.
It was a nice mall with the palm trees inside
My first job , it is missed greatly , back then it was the place to be 🙋♀️
Did you ever go to Forum 303 mall?
When I was a kid I went a few times before they shut down. I'm so upset I never get t any footage before they demolished it :(
When was it called Parktown Plaza? I don't recall that and I can't find anything online about that.
I remember going to the cinema to that was inside
My best friend in highschool and I used to go there all the time. There was an old legend that said that theater #6 was haunted lol!
I worked at the chick fil a and the great American cookie stores. I was 15 and chick fil a was my first job
@@majingazedo3988 That's so cool! I really miss this place. So many of my early childhood memories were made here
Sad to see the Mall torn down. A lot of great memories here!!!!!
Man I miss this mall lots of great memories even when they reopened and failed I went back in just to take one last look
Loved it! Chess King was my store and what was the name of the hamburger restaurant?
They used to have adult video store in what used to be a IHOP.
Good vid. I plan on doing one as well.

i also got to see the mall part just a few times. don’t remember it too much tho bc i was little.

I appreciate shopping at the mall, rather than online shopping.
I never knew that it even existed

This place was the go to place for shoppers in Arlington back in the day.
My dad use to work at that mall when he was a teenager.
Closed due to crime..aka.. the fellas came on the scene as always.
We need a mall with the theme of retro wave 🙌
Sad always will be
A lot of prositutes around that area a few years back, man I miss the good ol days
It used to be a popular shopping mall back then

I worked at Dillards here when I was 19.
That mall was creepy in its final days...
To LOCALS ITS ALL WE HAD

i wished i had a chance to go in b4 it got demolished
I bought two Madonna posters at some record shop here back in 1987!!! So sad they're all dying.
I remember when the Sanger Harris store was there. And when The Von Erich wrestlers, Kerry and Kevin, made an appearance there.
I met Lance Von Erich at the Oshman’s there while he was shopping.
I skipped school to go there smh
It’s not THE Six Flags Mall, it’s just “Six Flags Mall,” dammit!
Anyone remember Contempo Casuals? Great memories
My sad indeed. I've lived in arlington for 20 years and moved to Northern California near San Francisco in 2012....
Only been to this mall once or twice since since the nearest mall for me at the time was ridgemar even now that mall is slowly becoming a dead mall.
How sad. I went every weekend back in the late 70s-early 80s. I lived in Sherman, but had a season pass to six flags & would always do some shopping there, while in town. Great memories. Too bad it had to go.
I watch the peanut movie there
Fareal mane r.i.p

True story :)
Looks like the local city government is responsible for the demise of this mall.
at least partly, The cops where doing a lot of stuff in a the area to combat crime, and it didnt matter if you were a shopper or criminal, they harassed everyone equally. Maybe shoppers more so cause the criminals avoided them
So many great memories there. :'(
All you people who "miss" this mall-why didn't you shop there?
Ad Mirer I did I used to spend thousands of dollars here and dated all my Mexican Latina girlfriends used to shop at foleys

I live in Texas born and raised and I still live here in Texas

I remember my parents truck got stolen at the parking lot

This mall was actually nicer than the parks mall.
The world is evolving. Soon warmer states will be unlivable. People will migrate to cooler climate areas.... sad....sad...
Such nonsense.
