While everyone would like a new standout elite coaster for Over Texas, I think the main thing it needs in order to be great is more consistent quality of atmosphere. Some areas at the park really look fantastic and the Tex-Mex theming can be really charming and fun. But some areas definitely suffer from being blank slabs of black top with ugly steel structures plopped on them. Fiesta Texas is the better park but whether or not you prefer the coaster collection is more a matter of personal preference. But Fiesta Texas is just such a nice park overall with the best atmosphere in the chain (sometimes borderline theme park atmosphere.) Over Texas has some of that charm but it's just inconsistent. I'd love to see them invest more in park appearance, landscaping and restaurants and then add some new signature thrill machine once the overall park experience is improved.
I gotta say the first time I rode the mine train was at night in the back row, and I didn’t know there was a decent drop right at the end. The ejector airtime combined with the thin lap bar was insane.
I gotta stand up for my pet coaster, Judge Roy Scream. I know it's old and not that big of a coaster, but when I was a kid it was my favorite because it had 2 or 3 good drops (which is my favorite part of a roller coaster, love the weightless feeling while falling), the line was always really manageable, and it didn't beat you up like the old version of the Texas Giant did. Just a solid little coaster I could always count on.
We've been going to Six Flags Over Texas since my son was a toddler. Ever since he got tall enough to ride it, this has been his favorite coaster. He's 14 now.
I’m not sure if parents of special needs children know this so I am going to share. We went on 5/9/22 with our 9 year old autistic son who is also nonverbal. We went a few years ago but had to leave after 15 minutes because he gets upset in lines and in crowds. This year we filled out a request for an IBCCES pass (you have to have a doctor apply with you). My little boy had the time of life and it brought me to tears all day, on Mother’s Day as it was. We walked to the exit of every ride he wanted to go on and got right on each ride with no wait. Even got to pass the flash pass riders. I am so glad they participate in this program and my son got to share an experience that so many kids gets to.
I think this park has the best positive G collection. A lot of forcefull coasters. I think that's a fantastic thing. That's what makes this one of my favorite six flags parks.
I went a couple years ago and thought it was kinda “meh.” Not a bad park, but I didn’t think the coaster roster merited a stand-alone trip from far away. I think they need just one truly incredible coaster to set it apart, but for what they do have, it was still fun. I just won’t make it a point to go back unless I move closer or they get that one thing that sets them apart
I went in Dec 2020 and did both SFOT and Fiesta. I liked Fiesta better but did enjoy this park. I liked it's unique coasters like Shockwave, New Texas Giant, Titan, the Bobsled, Runaway Mountain etc. All different.
This was my home park growing up and I agree with everything said. The justice league ride used to be a 4-D theatre with the moving seats. I remember the SpongeBob SquarePants 4-D show because it scared me to death as a kid and the refurbishment to the justice league shooting ride was a wonderful addition
Great video to uploaded on my birthday today. Absolutely love this park; I went here during my Wrestlemania vacation and I gotta say I got a lot done in 5 hours before heading to the Dallas Cowboys football stadium for the Sunday night of Wrestlemania including 3 rides on New Texas Giant.
This is my new home park as of this year. I will miss my 3 favorite rides of Tatsu, X2, and Twisted Colossus from my former home park, Magic Mountain! I would love for SFOT to have a flying coaster and a West Coast Racers type roller coasters. I think they would make this park great!
I was searching for a review of SFOTX, something short and to the point and this popped up thank goodness. I need it to send to enthusiast friends in Brazil who will be visiting me this summer. We have plans to do Cedar Point (again🥰🥰🥰) and also visiting friends in Allen, TX near Dallas. I've been to Dallas several times but never to SFOTX. Hopefully after seeing this video, my friends will want to go there. 👍👍👍
my home park, grew up going here every week, all types of weather, even being turned away at the gate bc of inclement weather. it was a ritual to go every Sunday afternoon. i miss it. hard to get everyone together now that we're older with different schedules and obligations. got over my fear of roller coasters here, got lost here and sat at the funnel stand by the entrance for a while until my parents remembered that that was supposed to be our meet up point. my father was on the superman power of town while the new years fire works were going off. they stopped the ride up there if I remembered correctly so he got a great view. i went through the tilted house over and really enjoy the oil derrick as well.
Six Flags Over Texas is the Goat. First off i absolutely love Houston as a city. Titan is easily a top 3 B&M hyper for me and Mr. Freeze has one of the best launches you will find on any Intamin. Love love love this park.
Look up the history on Titan and Goliath. B&M actually had little to do with those rides. They were actually subcontracted by intamin. There's a ton of weird history behind that company.
Blacktop is also a criticism I have of SeaWorld San Antonio. I think it’s the only SeaWorld/Busch park that has it. They’ve been trying to fix that little by little over the years, particularly in areas where new attractions in the park are opening.
This was going to be my first Six Flags park a couple years ago. I was visiting family and was planning to go to it one of the days, but due to weather, the call was made to not go. I was crying cause I wanted to go so bad. Now this coming June my first Six Flags park will be Six Flags St. Louis. Hopefully it will go according to plan.
My home park! Agreed with everything said in the video. Also agree with the comments in that we need a more standout coaster. I think a Raptor would do great here.
I came here in 2016 and it was awesome. Interestingly the main reason why I chose to come here was because I feared Yosemite Sam's Gold River Adventure was in danger of closing and wanted to try it before it possibly goes away (which it did).
Thanks for this review! I haven't been to SFOT since I was in high school many decades ago, so I won't even recognize the place. Planning on heading there with my family this summer to this overview was helpful.
I go here every few months because I live about an hour away from it. I love the Conquistador, El Sombrero, Harley Quinn ride, and the Roaring Rapids. I ride these basically everytime I go there except the roaring rapids because it's usually closed when I go and the last time I went was my first time riding it in like a year lol
This is my home park and I used to want to be a roller coaster engineer and create roller coasters for this place, but I have started to peruse a different dream.
I'm working in fort worth this summer and flying my daughter out for a week in June. We can't wait to go here! I'm from Utah so this will blow Lagoon out of the water.
It's my home park. I agree with everything you said. It needs some better maintenance though. Shockwave and El Aserradero are always going down. Some buildings are looking really run down. The food definitely needs some improvement, so does theming. I hope the merger with Cedar Fair helps the park with these things.
My biggest issue with SFOT is the perfect piece of path they have blocked off between titan and new Texas giant. You have to walk around and go through a tunnel to get to titan when you could literally walk straight to it in half the time from giant.
I had Ma Hunkle’s just yesterday right before the Batman assuming the line would belong for my stomach to settle… we literally walked right up to the ride and got sick right after it
Before watching or reading the comments, I just went to SFOT yesterday and had a balst. I enjoyed all rides (except the super loop, for I don't like them) and I'm so happy it's only 30 minutes from my home.
last time i went we went on 3 rides, it started sprinkling for 5 minutes, all the rides were closed for about 3 hours and they finally shut down the park. i’m going tomorrow, and i’m excited to actually go on some more rides
I never been here but I flew over it as well as the stadiums in 2015 as we had a layover in Dallas Fort Worth on the way coming back from Las Vegas and we were there for about 2 hours and the only time I got to see the park was flying in to that airport from Vegas.
My Dad lives in Texas and when we drive by the Cowboys stadium, and I always think, "I wonder if Coaster Studios will ever make a video on Six Flags!" 😀😋
I don't know how recent you visit, but I do work there at Six Flags Over Texas. I can definitely agree that the crowds get insane. I'm only a recent worker, so I haven't seen a whole lot yet, but I can't wait to see more. ^^,
I went here oct 20th.. 2023 my fiancé took me before we were got engaged ( he proposed on dec 16th) I can’t name all the rides but the most memorable were tx giant, the titan, the joker, the swings, the hall of Justice league, the riddler, the car thing and a few more.. the scariest were the joker and the pandemonium was the scariest for me I didn’t think seat was secure, the swings and he brought me to his job to get rid of my fear of heights overall I can say it helped me a lot

We also have a park reviews playlist you can visit to see all the parks we’ve reviewed in alphabetical order
I want to say congratulations on 2k subs, iv been watching this channel for about 3 years and all your content in amazing. this is such a huge milestone, are you going to do a 2nd silver play button unboxing video?
I've always been interested, how are you all recording these videos? I've been interested in what sort of camera rig you have for these, the quality is always top notch.
I 100% agree that Gotham city needs an update cause blacktop is bland, but SFOT is on the rise and they’re genuinely getting upgrades which I absolutely love especially now with pirates of speelunker cave and Aquaman opening soon, with more work to SFOT, it can easily pass SFFT or the bigger parks in the near future
Fiesta Texas has been my home park most my life and I can say apart from how it’s layout is literally terribly confusing, I just liked how large most of the coasters were even if most were duds in terms of inertia I love inertia haha. But I haven’t been to fiesta Texas since power surges last day of operation before Wonder Woman took its place. Over Texas also had two historical steam locomotives if your a railroad guy
Ha! I love blacktop! I love the smell in the heat and when I’m not at a park and get a whiff of blacktop in a parking lot or street-it reminds me of Six Flags over Texas! 😃
Hi, thank you for the very informative review. Can you or anyone else tell me if it is worth investing in the unlimited food option for the park ? We will be visiting family that are only 45 mins away from the park and thought this would be a great thing to do while the parents are at work.
im going there soon with my mom because i dont know who else to bring i have no friends :/ but im going to ride every ride but what do you think is the most crazy ride there i want to save the best for last
Six Flags Over Texas is my home park and I've always enjoyed my trips here. Though I would say, careful on ride CLOSURES. Recently, both Titan and Mr Freeze had to shut down which caused a LOT of bottlenecking at the few other coasters left. I'm pretty much waiting until both those rides are back up and operational before returning there.
I only had a day to visit this park and really liked it except we never found the entrance to Judge Roy, we were hoping to just stumble onto it but didn't ... which is weird because its one of the first things you see when entering the park and across the road from the rest of the park?? I think its a 2 day park.
If Titan had been a b and m hyper, totally different roster. The park needs one more major attraction but unclear on what that ride type really is to round out the roster. I agree about the park being hard to navigate. I went there one time in 2014 as well and it was a maze.
I hope they get rid of the music mill and install a new coaster. It would bring life over to the Shock Wave area and is the music mill isn’t used. I would like a B&M wing coaster or a mack extreme spinner.
JB's is a hit or miss at Six Flags parks, but this one is my favorite in the chain. I've been twice and would put this as a mid-tier Six Flags park. Really itching to do a Texas trip again soon
Always thought Over Texas seemed like a good park. I think Fiesta Texas has a bit more to offer in the way of new coasters, but Fiesta has issues with wind and coasters not being able to run so Over Texas has it beat there.
This is my home park and I think they need to work on food service, trying to get rides open, and just adding more theming in the newer Gotham area. Other than that, I think it’s a good park.
I am completely baffled to learn that Phantasialand, now famous for Rides like Taron and FLY, had its very own Casa Magnetica where Klugheim/Chiapas now is. Not only was it the same concept, but it was literally the same name and mexican theme. I guess for some european parks the inspiration goes further than disney.
The most disappointing thing for me with this park is that I knew for years they owned the shopping center on the corner next to Batman, but they decided to make it a permanent carnival ride area complete with black pavement pathways (perfect for summers) instead of install a great coaster.
I visited in 2019 and frankly I didn't come away impressed. I've been to 9 different Six Flags parks, and I would rank this 8th. I was really disappointed with the operations. I went in the spring time during their spring break promotion, so you would expect they would be running multiple trains because of the crowds. Nope, one train on New Texas Giant on a Saturday and Sunday. It was very disappointing. The other thing it lacked was a true Standout coaster. New Texas Giant, Shockwave, Mr. Freeze, and Batman are good solid rides, but they need an elite roller coaster similar to what some of the other Six Flags Flags parks have.
It’s my home park and I honestly wish it just had one more standout unique coaster. The park has improved a lot in the recent years
Something like a Mack or Intamin multi-launch would fit nicely.
Bro I swear I remember you from some where. I think we were friends on Facebook some years ago! I make beats. Also I agree we need a standout
looks like it sure has, hope you have fun when you go this season!
@@Coaster12 I ALSO REMEMBER THEM FOR SOME REASON LMAO
@@PigsRMyFrens1 haha we all need to link up & ride some coasters at SFOT. I’m currently at SFMM right now

CONGRATS ON 200,000 SUBS! Well deserved man! Also, great video as always!

I think this park has the best positive G collection. A lot of forcefull coasters. I think that's a fantastic thing. That's what makes this one of my favorite six flags parks.
Yup, Titan, Mr. Freeze,Shock Wave, Batman, heck even their family coaster Pandemonium pulls some pretty strong positive g’s during the helixes.

Thanks for the review. We are going for our first time over Thanksgiving week. This is really helpful. 🎉
How was it? Thinking of going in March

El Sombrero is a very underrated kid rid. You get really good airtime and slippage in the seats. Remined me of sandlot

What a cool park and review. LOVE THIS CHANNEL

Went a few years ago when I visited my sister for the first time. Loved it! Such a good park!
I really liked this park. I only visited one time, but man shockwave really exceeded my expectations, it’s in my top 10
Congrats on 200K, CS!
Six Flags started rolling out the Pink Thing to other parks. It's now offered at Frontier City.
I came here in 2016 and it was awesome. Interestingly the main reason why I chose to come here was because I feared Yosemite Sam's Gold River Adventure was in danger of closing and wanted to try it before it possibly goes away (which it did).
Since my 1st visit in 2006 until 2016, I enjoy visit there. I rode any roller coasters. I miss them.
You should do an updated version of a review for six flags great America

my home park is great and I know is one of the best original parks and I like your review Taylor 👍🏻
My Dad lives in Texas and when we drive by the Cowboys stadium, and I always think, "I wonder if Coaster Studios will ever make a video on Six Flags!" 😀😋
Is there any single rider?? Like the fast que for some people who visit alone!
I believe added single rider lines recently to a couple rides!
JB‘s barbecue is the best
Which one would you rather…. Six Flags Over Georgia, or Six Flags Over Texas? Also, please do a Speelunkers vs Monster Mansion!!
Good question! I personally would lean towards Over Georgia in terms of coaster collection, but Over Texas in terms of atmosphere and layout!
Man I remember watching you in elementary school back in 2014 when you had like 600 subs now your at 200k that’s crazy
The TroubleMaker theme park!!! I want to ride the juggler!
I love Six Flags Over Texas! There is definitely room for improvement like you said, but its a great park.
Great review on this park, I’m wondering if you’ll do a new review on Fiesta Texas with the changes over the years

I would definitely love to ride new Texas Giant. I've only been on one RMC, Wicked Cyclone at Six Flags New England, which is my home park.

@@CoasterStudios I can’t wait!!
Love this park
Always thought Over Texas seemed like a good park. I think Fiesta Texas has a bit more to offer in the way of new coasters, but Fiesta has issues with wind and coasters not being able to run so Over Texas has it beat there.
This is my home park and I think they need to work on food service, trying to get rides open, and just adding more theming in the newer Gotham area. Other than that, I think it’s a good park.
I think I’m going this summer I hope I like it
I got fired for being too late , is there anyway to get rehired?
I don't work here I just make videos on youtube
@@CoasterStudios yea Ik just wanna know if anyone that works here has advice
I am completely baffled to learn that Phantasialand, now famous for Rides like Taron and FLY, had its very own Casa Magnetica where Klugheim/Chiapas now is. Not only was it the same concept, but it was literally the same name and mexican theme. I guess for some european parks the inspiration goes further than disney.
The most disappointing thing for me with this park is that I knew for years they owned the shopping center on the corner next to Batman, but they decided to make it a permanent carnival ride area complete with black pavement pathways (perfect for summers) instead of install a great coaster.
i live like 45 mins away and i always thought it was just some random six flags cool that it was the first six flags
Be aware some of the roller coasters have assigned seats now to reduce wait times.
We've had Aquaman, just now it's revamped as new type of water ride.
Try velocicoster in Orlando universal studios
I've ridden it dozens of times! We have a lot of videos about it already on our channel.
Wish I could buy this park. I would change the damn game! I have an arcade business I’m currently running right now!
I want to go and fiesta Texas as well
I visited in 2019 and frankly I didn't come away impressed.
