Thorfinn’s reaction to askeladd’s death is one of my favorite panels, because with so many high detail angry thorfinn faces being thrown around, you expect another one coming, but instead it’s a face of utter helplessness, he’s devastated
I imagine your one great drive in life being snuffed out in front of you to be devastating. The one thing you've wanted that made everything you've done bearable all the killing and suffering you caused all the pain you put yourself through all the friends and family you abandoned for that one goal and it literally dies in front of you.

I look like thorfin, my dad was killed like Thorfins, I’ll never get revenge like Thorfin, I deeply relate to the character and anime. It got me through a very hard time and when Thorfin failed to get his revenge it devastated me, so I just had to read the manga, and it made me realize, i can be happy again, all I need is time and something to put my mind to.
I see thorfin more like someone who imitates the word of God. Because "i have no enemies" is based on loving, forgiving and serving. The three things are totally far from pride which is a poison that kills us slowly and is highly promoted these days. Love is more towards humility, sacrifice and attention. Because loving, serving and forgiving require putting others above, having the courage to put God above. In fact, the development of thorfinn goes from loving the enemy, I think there was an episode in which they showed that the message comes from the bible. Since it says that loving those who love us is an easy task and does not require much effort, on the other hand, loving those who persecute you and seek to do you harm is an infinitely more difficult task and with much greater fruits.
fill your heart and content it with the word of God, it is the best decision you can make. It is a spring of wisdom. It requires us to confront ourselves, which helps us to recognize our own mistakes and faults. This is how we change and mature, not because of our capacity we are very limited and weak. That is why we have to face ourselves, fight our weakness. A good example is Thorfin, he could only recognize his mistake and the great guilt that this entails when he went through all those experiences and blessings that God allowed him to go through. Without them, not even he wanted to think of whether what he was doing was right or wrong. We change and mature not because of our ability, but thanks to God, who allows you to pass that experience, test or difficulty to recognize your failures.
From an innocent child to a savage warrior to a hollow person with no aim facing despair to a man understanding his goals to becoming a leader....I don't think any other MC's has changed this much through out a manga series
I'am glad Thorfinn is realising why his father gave up the sword. Thor could annihilate countless men if he wanted to, but he just wanted to live a life of peace.
