small tip that will probably only save 2 seconds lol - when you go to delete the unneeded vertex groups, you can left click and drag your mouse over the locks to the right of the vertex name on the groups that you NEED, then clicking on the arrow pointing down you can click on "delete unlocked groups." itll remove the groups you dont need in 1 click also in my experience "nearest face interpolated" seems to get the best results for the mesh data transfer. to each their own tho for sure!
FINALLY, i find someone who shows how to actually change the proportions to get it to fit. I kept scaling and deleting vertexs and made a hot mess 😂😂 Definitely saved this video for later when i add clothes to my character. You rock!
Amazing video, you're a good teacher! A lot of these VRChat tutorial creators, especially on the Booth side, tend to think they're comedians so their tutorials end up being unbearable but also just not in-depth at all. Yours are however, so easy to understand and consume because there's none of that filler content. Thnk you very much, I'll attempt this tomorrow when I wake up
For many pieces of clothing, adjusting the mesh manually with sculpting will lead to increased stretching of the UVs, meaning you would need to re-unwrap and re-texture your model for a professional quality result for clothing that requires major adjustments to be properly fitted.
That highly depends on the amount of sculpting you do. If you just adjust it a little, like he did in the video, there will be no real benefit from retexturing ;)
I love you so much I could start crying right now lmao. I was able to attach some pants I made to my character but for some reason the jacket wouldn't work no matter what. This got it rigged when everything else failed at 6 am. You're a river to your people.

Hi Pinky! You're my hero for doing this, as I learn so much from your videos! I can't wait to one day say thank you in vrchat with my own diy avatar! Stay amazing!

I craved the strength and certainty of steel. I aspired to the purity of the blessed machine. Your kind cling to your flesh, as if it will not decay and fail you. One day the crude biomass you call a temple will wither, and you will beg my kind to save you. But I am already saved. For the machine is immortal. Even in death, I serve the Omnissiah. Thank you for making this video!
Thanks so much for that great tutorial. Data transfer is such a great tool. I had some problems with cat's so I just skipped that step and added it directly onto my model.
This is such a great video! I did however have an issue that once I used FACS to apply some pants I took off one avatar (I wiped it of everything from the old avi) to put on a similar body avi, when testing for clipping with Gesture Manager and Go Loco, when placing the avi in to a cross legged position (or other large degree joint bend positions) the butt clips through the pants severely and the front of the waist of the pants sinks inside the lower tummy area. Is there anything you can suggest to fix this issue? Amazing video though. I genuinely feel like my blender skills leveled up after watching this! ^.^
Thank you for the great video, it really helped. but I put the fbx file into Unity and Material was look fine but if I touched the blend shape key of cloth, the modified clothes break, how can I fix it?
I love the tutorial and how well it guided me but sadly my blender crashes whenever I get the weight paint and I don't want to do it all over again a third time.
One issue I'm having though, I don't have the move/select tools you do for when you're selecting the armature to see the weight painting, anything on how to fix that..?

Depends if the edited nardo base was just mesh or if they modified the weights / bones. If its the ladder then id suggest fitting it to the modified base
what if im trying to add pants to a model whos legs are in a different pose, or adding a tpose shirt to an apose model? sculpting the model that far off always ends up very distorted
You can try using the base armature (if it comes with one) and pose that, then set the pose as default and remove the armature Alternatively you can pose your model and do the same thing, just note to pose it back if you want.
I used this guide and the same jacket model as you. After importing the finished fbx into unity it loses all its textures and also loses the "inside" of the jacket. (looking inside the jacket you can see through it). Was wondering if you had any issues when you imported into unity?
The inside being lost is due to no back-face on it, most materials will fix these automatically Materials aren't fully automatic, it will either give you an untextured or grey material, I would recommend making your own!
You may have messed up somewhere along the path, remember that the order that you combine / join stuff is extremely important! additionally make sure it has the armature modifier on both meshes
i have a small issue on a model and the elastic deform when i move it the faces apears making it look weird and if i use the subdivision boolean it will just freeze blender
unity package is a file archive (like .ZIP) you need to open your unity package, inside of that should have your model. this model will be a .fbx (or .blend/ other file types) that's what you want to import
