Piano Version by Patrik Pietschmann
Some of you have asked for it over and over again, now you get it. "A Window to the Past" is the most famous track from the "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" soundtrack. It was composed by John Williams. This theme is used whenever Harry thinks of his parents or talks about them. This happens in all conversations between Harry and Remus Lupin, as well as a motif when Harry's patronus appears, symbolizing paternal protection for him. I hope you like my piano version!

That was the scene in the movie. Harry and Lupin talked about the Dementors and why they like Harry a whole lot and about Harrys Mom. Walking through the forest on the small island and seeing the bridge.

The Prisoner of Azkaban film was a wonder, I loved the new style the director has taken up as well as the amazing music. I didn't like the Goblet of Fire movie though. Although the Order of Pheonix movie was fine, I wish they made a short series instead of movies for the longer books, so many things were missed out on.

This is beautiful! The Prisoner of Azkaban has some of my favorite music from the whole franchise; John Williams never fails to impress. The song fits to atmosphere of the Harry Potter universe perfectly, and you captured that feel perfectly. Great work yet again!

Burden you carry for a lifetime. Because you are not living the life you were supposed to live. That was ripped off, and you can never recover from this betrayal.
Prisoner of Azkaban was such a great movie, and this theme is so beautiful! Thank you Patrik!

Probably my favorite theme in Harry Potter. The one that gives me the most emotions. It really makes me feel like I'm in Hogwarts, in Harry's shoes. It's really beautiful and it suits the third movie's aesthetic so well.

Patrik, This song means a ton to me. I have played violin for a long time and also piano. When I hear how amazing your songs are. I listen to them over and over and adapt them to my experience level. Piano is such an amazing thing. God has blessed you with an amazing talent. Never ever give up on music. Its the on language everyone understands.

This song makes it feel like you really are staring through a window into the past. You put so much feeling into the way you played it that it almost is like we are on the bridge with Harry and Remus.
This is up there for one of John Williams best scores of all time, very underrated. This song is one of the best in the soundtrack, and you nailed it!
This is so beautiful. I am feeling alone and thinking of my dead parents just that I am not alone and my parents are very alive. It is fascinating how people and especially children can live the life of someone else just in their heads.

I think, this is my favourite piece of music. This version of the score. I love the original as well, but this arrangement and the way you play it, just invokes so many emotions. i never thought a piano track can stuck that hardly in my head. i heard this version over 50 times in the past 2 days and i can's stop watching this. i enormously love this adaptation of this beautiful song.
I found an empty piano room at my new school during fall break and playing any Patrik piece will cure any stress.

As a kid I loved playing movie themes on the piano. I haven't played in about 15 years, but stumbled across this arrangement (it's one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite movies) and it blew me away. It is absolutely beautiful. I figured, why not dust off my old piano and try my hands again. Looked online for a beginner version of the sheet music. And then I thought what the heck, I'll just get your sheet music too, and see if I can integrate the two into a version I can play. That was a few months ago and I am astounded to say that I haven't even picked up the beginner version - I slowly have learned your arrangement with no modifications or shortcuts. This is by far the most complicated song I have ever mastered and I absolutely love playing it. Thanks Patrik for inspiring me to chip the rust off my fingers and learn something that was way out of my league.
