I love how they made Lisa look so innocent in this scene. That’s how it is in real life. Somebody cheats, and they come back looking sad with a puppy face and tries to make you feel guilty. Glad Reuben didn’t fall for it!

They are common.
Most women just want security and companionship. Most aren't stupid, however not all of them understand that men want more than a pretty face. Men are used to living with their mothers (when they were kids), if you get a smart woman she will try emulate/replicate a lot of things that make you feel like you are back home (the good parts)...i.e. home cooked meal (if that's what you got), clean house (again if that's what you were used to), ect... and of course the physical stuff is a biological check box.
Thoughtfulness is the key to everyone's heart.
Best a man can do is find a rational woman that understands these things and the man to understand to do a thoughtful act every day or two to check her box as well. If you find a woman like that and you have that same thoughtful capacity, then you both are golden. The only other things to do is figure out how to budget money and remember to have a good sense of humor, because when you get up there in age this really is the glue that keeps you from breaking.

Classic deflection. I had a friend who's wife cheated on him, fortunately no kids. I took him out drinking and he went into the whole " It's really my fault, I work too many hours." I punched him in the mouth and told him to leave her and act like a man and reminded him he worked "too much" because he provided very well for her ans she didn't work.

@@brianpratts Well, that's hard to know because Lisa here is saying that she came back to Reuben because she got bored that Claude was talking only about scuba diving which of course he had no choice but to do it since it's probably his job on the island to teach scuba and certify people.
I remember the first time I saw this scene, I did not want him to get back together with her. She cheated on him to begin with and never even apologized for it, not even when she came back. She wanted him to take her back but it’s not that simple and he has a right to be with someone else. I’ve seen that happen before and truly, maybe we can forgive but we can’t forget.

She has a lot of nerve. She cheats, and when that doesn't work out, she comes back to him. Man or woman, both deserve fidelity. Cheating is disrespectful and hurtful to your relationship and your partner. Hence the secrecy and cover up. Cheating is not a mistake, it is a choice to be physically intimate with somebody else. Nothing excuses it. If you're unhappy or dissatisfied in your relationship/marriage, talk to your partner, work it out or leave. Ruben deserved better. He was a good guy.

@@scartee13 I agree, that was funny. I remember Sandy telling Reuben that he sees a scared look on Lisa's face in the video which is probably why Sandy told Reuben that. Maybe Sandy told Reuben that because, it seems like Reuben still wanted to get back together with Lisa until he saw Polly making him feel he wants to move on as he told Lisa that he missed her at first but decided to move on as he talked about from 1:12-1:17.

I guess Lisa didn't care if Reuben said not to come back to him if she changes her mind because she must have felt that scuba is not a subject that Lisa enjoyed talking about since Claude as a scuba instructor kept talking about it to her and she has to expect that from Claude since Claude has a job on the beach as a scuba instructor giving people certifications after getting scuba instructions.

@Beth Roney At least Reuben stood up to Lisa at the end when she asked him if they can go out to eat after his job is over for the day and he said that he won't get back together with her after making love to a scuba instructor on their honeymoon when they were married where he considered that as cheating on him.

However, Lisa broke Reuben's rule saying that if she changes her mind, not to come back to him but she still came back after saying that she got bored hearing Claude talk about scuba all the time when of course Claude didn't have a choice since he has a job on the island teaching scuba and certifying people by going from people to people asking if they're interested.

@@bethroney2869 Well, in the spot where Reuben stood up to Lisa that he will not be getting back with her calling himself a "fool" if he did, Reuben's father had a look on his face towards Lisa like he was saying "that's a good point, shame on you for cheating on Reuben." When Polly met Lisa for the first time, I was hoping that Polly would have shown and acted more interested as a girlfriend towards Reuben because when Lisa asked who she was Reuben said "this is my girlfriend Polly" with Polly saying "I'm not your girlfriend" but instead I was hoping she said "that's right, it's a shame what you did to him but I'm happy to be his girlfriend." Of course, I know Polly herself said that she wasn't the marrying type but she should have talked to Reuben about it privately. I can only hope that Reuben and Polly got married at the end since they took a trip together to the same Caribbean island telling Claude how they're working things step by step where I can only assume they got married when they went swimming towards the boat to go for scuba.

You cheated on your husband on the first day of your honeymoon. Then he caught you in the act. Then you decided to stay with the man you cheated on your husband with. Then once you get bored of him you try to go right back to your old life while you essentially ruined your husbands life. @@quarf53206 It seems like Reuben saw Polly a few days after he left Lisa alone on the island with Claude and Reuben and Polly were hanging out together for a few weeks and then Reuben saw Lisa in his apartment room after a few weeks. Plus, it never showed Reuben going to the judge to arrange for a divorce to explain that his wife left him which means Reuben and Lisa were still together but Reuben kept his distance from her.
It sounds like Lisa was taking a nap and then when Reuben and Polly walked in, she woke up.
