My Gigantamax dex is probably not going to be subject to my regional dex rules, as frankly doing a dozens more raids to get male/female Venusaur, Butterfree, etc. crosses a line even for my tedium-addicted brain lol. Great job on your Living Dex! I was thinking about doing a video on my own Living Dex as I did an Origin Dex journey a couple years back. Definitely the best time to think about Living Dex on Home before Bank goes down one day
Heard that. I feel they haven't done a great job at balancing the frequency of mythical distributions. I don't agree with how infrequent they are as a general principle, but from their perspective I get it. There's a lot of mythicals now, and if they're given away too frequently it does take away from their appeal, in GF's eyes. But then I look at something like Volcanion which has been given out only two or three times in the last decade, with a franchise that has new and old fans shuffling in every year or so...surely there's a better middle ground.
I also got all of the shiny milcery from the outbreaks just incase i wanted to do the full shiny form dex. It went alot faster than i thought it was going to.
I’m doing a very similar “origin” dex and wrapping up Gen 2, so we’re pretty much at the same spot! I appreciate your thought processes, as they’re very similar to mine, so you’ve gained a subscriber 😁
Sorry for the late reply. This is a great question and made me look around, also couldn’t find any info. I didn’t have Sword at the time, so I think I got this in a wonder trade through Home. It’s in a Luxury Ball which I find odd. Might be that it’s genned? That’s the only reasonable conclusion I can draw. It says it was caught in Bridge Field, which would mean it should have the player’s OT. Unless their OT was…HOME. lol
That would've been a good idea huh? Haha. Tbh a fair bit of it is just Kalos/Alola Pokemon that I've actually caught and just not bothered to put into Home. Pretty much every Alola Legendary / Ultra Beast I have in Sword thanks to Dynamax Adventures, and that's a good chunk of them there. I think at this point I may just wait for my replays to catch up, that way when I'm filling out the Home Dex with them it'll be with my Living Dex versions.
Found this video RUclips recommend it. I am working on a living dex my self never caught them all but when it's all said and done I will probably be missing like 2-3 mons
I got the 8 Hat Pikachu on Sword (I think I have them all on Sun/Ultra Sun, too) if you want 'em. And a Shiny Porygon and whatever else I might be forgetting I might've caught, due to how seldom that happens.

I took a break over the last couple months to catch up on SV dlc, but ill be going hard in the next month or two to get gen 6-7 done so that i dont need pokemon bank anymore. I think i will upload a video or something soon so i can show you! I will need to go back and get gender differences too tho… ugh
Interesting, if I send out a scizor that was caught as scyther in rby and evolved in gsc to bank, it will appear that he came from johto (it's a johto mon after all) but in your home it says that it comes from kanto... did you send the rby scyther to sun and moon directly and evolved it there?
Hi! Sorry for the late reply. Yes, that is pretty much what I did. For some Alolan evolutions I did it in Sun, then for a lot of them I evolved them in Legends Arceus or Sword/Scarlet depending on availability. The export process only reads whether the Pokemon is coming from a Gen 1 or 2 game, and won't actually drill into specifics on where it actually originated from. At some point I breeded Pokemon in Crystal and then traded them back into the Gen 1 games so that they'd read as being from Kanto.
What I did for my BDSP living national dex is that I took an extra Eevee and evolved it into Sylveon in SwSh. I then did something similar with an extra Stantler, Ursaring, and Scyther into Wyrdeer, Ursaluna, and Kleavor, respectively, by moving them into PLA, as well as with an extra Primeape, Girafarig, and Dunsparce, and evolved them into Annihilape, Farigiraf, and Dudunsparce in SV.
Thats dope. I would start a dex starting from Scarlet and go from there on. I wouldnt be able to get the different regions tho. I like that. And im big on my original OT.
Wait, how can you do that with Miraidon, Iron Boulder and Iron Crown? There is no way to catch them in a Pokémon Scarlet copy. 😞 The rest can be caught using a Union Circle. ☺️

I'm making an origin living dex PLUS a regional living dex for each generation. As Im watching this I'm getting my last eevee. 14 Eevees. One per save in the middle of the game... I'll probably never play gen one again... totally worth it though

I remember accidentally deleting my only event Diancie when I started a new game in Pokemon Y. I had to wait 7-8 years before Diancie was released in Pokemon GO as part of the 2023 GO Fest in order to add it back to my national dex

Wait, you could feed two Venusaur (Male and Female) a Max Soup and get the Gigantamax Factor. 🙃
may not be the best but I found that using the touch screen of the switch to move pokemon around saves a lot of time

I cant find any info on that Galarian Slowpoke you have in the EVENT (HOME) box with the OT "HOME". Any idea where this came from?

You should go into your pokedex and filter by unregistered so we can see what you’re still missing

Something interesting you could do with Galatians Mr mime and Mr rhyme is catch mime jrs from sinnoh and then trade them to Galar to evolve.

i COULD be wrong, but I think if you buy the Scarlett/violet DLC, you get it for both games.
