Angel Dust is essentially a p*rn industry slave. He's used often and feels trapped in the business, so he treats it like something to be proud of because he's a pretty well known, successful p*rn star. But judging by what we _do_ know about his character, he's actually deeply unsatisfied and has experienced abuse in his work..
He's numbed himself to it and denies needing or wanting help, but the ADDICT video has proven to us that he does struggle and needs assistance. This song is similar to addict in the way it has Angel Dust singing with pride and confidence about what he does, but it offers a somber, darker implication that he's just putting on a facade to get through the truth of what he does.
He does his job because that's all he's good for, and it's all he can do to feel wanted and get by in Hell. He doesn't actually enjoy it, but he's grown accustomed to it at the same time. The s*x is just business for him at this point, and the best he can do is flaunt about it and take it with pride.

That's actually one of the misconceptions about porn or sex industry. Its easy to blame the person involved in it or to make assumptions about why they do it. And in reality, many people who are out selling themselves on the street are not doing that for any sort of pleasure. More often then not they are put in situations where they are essentually property and they can't leave because they would be abused or even killed if they ever try to leave. Sometimes it's a pimp, other time it's an abusive husband, and in other cases...selling ones body is the only way to provide for their children.

As if both are saying it but with different contexts! I don't know for sure but it was an interesting detail I didn't know the first few listens till I heard Val's voice sing

Just a thought. The verse about "the pleasure i no longer feel", it may be a callback to Angel's drug addiction. I almost keep forgetting that Angel Dust isn't just his name, its his drug of choice. So maybe with his drug addiction in that big mess, he's numb to the pleasure? Idk, im guessing lol.

15:15 fun fact: "dime" also works as a term for drugs. Theres a reason why the names of the songs were Addict and Use me up, heck its even in his name "Angel Dust" is slang for PCP.
19:28 thats why when angel says "they take it all" as in they take away his drugs and make him dependent on sex work to get money for his next fix. He does whatever they want as long as he gets paid to be able to afford it.
VIP stands for variation in production. It's basically a song remixed by the original producer.

12:50 I think for this line could be seen through addiction. From what I studied (psych major) is that when someone does something so many times they will start to get used to it over time. Especially when that "something" you do releases dopamine (a pleasure chemical) in your brain. Like drugs or sex. Which Angel does a lot. And that is what I got off the top of my head. Let alone how Valentino plays into all of this.
Of course this is my interpretation of things and I am not a expert on the matter of these kinds of topics. And sorry if I got something wrong, this is my second year studying psych and I would not mind having others voice their view points. And of course people should do their own research on this if they want to.
I highly recommend more songs from Paranoid DJ. Those song are just incredible!

The theme of the first "Use Me Up song" from Paranoid DJ almost feels as though Angel is dead-set on believing that he isn't worthy of redemption, and believes he deserves to be in the position where he turns tricks to survive and believes he deserves the abuse he suffers from Valentino. But, in the second song, "Use Me Up VIP," supposedly after Angel meets Charlie and the others at the hotel, yeah he may feel as though he's still not worthy of redemption, but he at least starts believing the truth that he deserves better, hence him saying at the end of the song, "So I don't care 'bout what you say or what you want me to do, one day I'll find a way to get myself away from you."

I might be crazy but I like Helluva Boss a bit more than Hazbin Hotel…of course this is just based on the pilot so…I can’t really truly judge just yet…on the one hand, Helluva Boss has Moxxie and I love him so much.
While I won't name any names for the sake of privacy, I know a few SWERs. After awhile of doing that kind of work, according to them, dissociating and "going somewhere else" is somewhat common. Hence, no pleasure, because you're not really in the moment.
Angel dust really doesn't deserve what Valentino does to him, he's already a traumatized being he doesn't need anymore trauma to add on to it
