*Almost everything about this video (and Angel):*
-This song was originally made by Silva Hound in their channel and they were able to get Angel’s actual voice actor to make the song. Later they made tons of remixes one with the sad lines in the after credits scene. After, Viv liked the song so much that she decided to make it canon and make an animated music video.
-This song takes place after the pilot. (This is debated by a lot of people and I wont explain why but yes it takes place after and that is canon.)
-Angel’s real name is Anthony and he died of an overdose of PCP (aka angel dust) in 1947 in his late 30s. He was born into an Italian mafia in new york with his father, Henroin, his brother, Arackniss, and his twin sister Molly. His dad didn’t aprove of him being gay so he was kicked out of his house, going into sex work very young.
-Viv has said that Cherri does all of the destroying and taking territories (not only because that’s who she is) but also because she is trying to become an overlord so she can get Angel off of Valentino’s clutches.
-Valentino is Angel’s pimp, and most hated character in the fandom. We know that he is an overlord and was a human who died. He makes part of a trio of overlords called the VEE’s together with Vox, a TV demon that has rivalry with Alastor, and Velvet one who we don’t know much about or exactly what she does. (It is theorized that every overlord represents a sort of media, Val porn, Vox TV, Alastor radio etc)
-There is a comic posted on the official hazbin hotel web site that is a prequel to the pilot showing how Angel got to the hotel and more about his abuse. I would really recommend reading it although it isin’t currently available in the site since with the release date of the show being realesed the web site is only a place where you can “check in” to the hazbin hotel. But there are tons of comic dubs here on youtube if you want to check it out and Im sure you can find the comic easily.
-In the music video there is a lot of subtle things in angel’s pole dancing choreography that are saying a kind of “fuck you” to Val, theres a great video made by one of the storyboarders that pole dances that shows the choreography as well as those little details. ruclips.net/video/o4kPMOauj44/видео.html
-It is also theorized that the cigarettes that both angel and Val smoke with the red smoke are some sort of tranquilizer or controler that val uses to make his employees more compliant. You can see in the middle of Angel’s dance when he inhales the smoke he all of a sudden goes from saying fuck you to val to dancing “happily”.
-Angel has a strange fascination with fish and while he can’t take care of them he really loves them, thats why the club that he is in with cherry has so many aquariums and fish.
-While Angel and cherri are getting out of the destroyed club we can se some neon signs inside it, one of them says “it was all a dream” this makes a lot of people think that everything the happens after Cherri jumps off the bridge and there is a white screen when the musis cuts off, its a dream. They never destroyed the strip club, after all Angel would probably be punished for it. Right after Val assults angel and we see him crying in his room he passes out and thinks of a possible better life but non of it is real, he’s just alone in his room laying on the floor. Also note how in that sequence Angel is literally wearing rose tinted glasses.
-We have no idea who is the guy in Cherri’s part with the one eye. There is a drawing of him made by Viv from back in 2013-2015 that has the name “Izzy” but nothing more about him. There are theories but nothing even verging on concrete.
-Angel’s pig is called Fat nuggets and you can buy him as a plush on the official Hazbin merch store, I was able to pre order it which gave me a bonus pin of Angel and Nuggies hugging which is absolutely adorable.

This needs to be higher, and possibly even pinned and hearted, because this is pretty much the entire lore we know so far. To further the whole smoke thing, not sure if it's actually something that actually controls, but it would make sense. When Angel was reflecting on his life, Val used the smoke to pull on his chin to make him keep preforming, then uses the smoke to symbolize shackles and a collar on Angel, before he inhales the smoke. So even if the cigarettes/smoke aren't laced with something, the symbology, the control Valentino has, is very clear.

I love how no matter whoever watches this, the last part always just is a shock and unpleasant surprise. And by watching it they suddenly feel so much remorse for Angel. This song is so powerful no matter who you are

That final post-credit verse from Angel Dust tells you SO much about his character.
There’s a reason that Valentino looks kinda upset while Angel is preforming. It’s because Angel made some very rude gestures to him. When he says “fuck being a sober hoe” he bites his thumb at him. When he says “you’re playing with now” he makes a jerk off motion to him. That’s why he gives him the head titled look
the word Atlantic has a lot of meaning too. Atlantic means a place that is comfortable, safe, and has everything you would need. A place isolated from the scary world outside.
I really hope when the main show comes out there is a moment where Valentino tries to take Angel Dust from the Hotel, while also underestimating Charlie because of the tv interview and learns what it means to intrude on the domain and force their way past the princess of Hell.
How can a song be so catchy, yet so depressing at the same time? The whole thing comes across as Angel Dust convincing himself that he loves this lifestyle, while we see the parts he clearly is uncomfortable with. And yet I can't stop humming along to it.
a common misinterpretation i find youtubers say is that angel was just assulted ONE TIME by valentino and these flashbacks are all he has left. but angel still works for val so he STILL goes through that assult maybe everyday.

I heard a theory about the cigarettes with red smoke. Because he looks upset during the overdose lyrics at the start, but once the red smoke reaches him he looks relaxed again, so people theorise that Val uses the smoke to manipulate and control the sex workers. And that he's used it so often on Angel (cos his attitude is a full part of his personality), so he's now addicted to smoking them even in the hotel, away from Val's influence. He's really safe in that hotel, cos Charlie is like the 2nd most powerful person in hell, she just doesn't want to use her powers against people.
"I know it's hell and shitty things happen, but I'm sorry" There's no need to apologize. The fact that Hell is a horrible place filled with terrible people is the point. Your reaction is normal. It would only be a problem if you were blaming the show for showing how bad things get, and you're not doing that. You are right to be emotional about this! You can love the show and hate the events depicted.
Fun fact: in the bit where Angel and Cherri are performing towards the end, you'll notice in one shot that there is an aquarium in the ceiling, and 2 of the fish in it are an Angel Fish and a Blob Fish. This is because Angel loves sea life, and those 2 in particular are his favourites. It was mentioned in one of the Hunicast episodes by Viv herself

At this point, nobody knows who the person Cherry Bomb is talking about is. People have tried to connect it to previous, old characters from Vivsie's stories, but for all we know its an entirely new character :)
I don't remember his name for sure but I definitely recognize him! He's an old Australian demon character she made, as far as I know of his old concept, he was an assassin who hunted other demons.
I could be wrong, but I believe I saw him pictured in some art alongside a group of other demons. One being the original design for Charlie when she looked MUCH different.
Of course his purpose and name could've been changed in the actual show now.

I don’t think anyone has said this yet, but as far as a remember, Cherri’s person is speculated to be her dad. We don’t know how he’s relevant in the mv (he could also be her abuser) nor do we know how Cherri died. And the reason why she takes part in terf wars in the pilot and gaining territory in hell is to become an overlord and get Angel away from his situation w/ Val (who is another demon overlord). And if u look carefully in 13:30 there’s a neon sign on the wall saying “it was all a dream,” implying that everything that happened starting from the blank screen to Cherri & Angel blowing up the club didn’t actually happen. For if it did, Angel would get in a lot of trouble w/ Val. Speaking of that horridly pimp, some people believe that the red smoke he uses at 3:46 and Angel at 7:33 is something Val uses to make Angel obey/comply to him. One example of this is Angel looking somewhat reluctant to perform on 3:50 but more content after the smoke reaches him. On a lighter note, Angel likes fish, hence the aquarium in the club that he and Cherri danced at. That’s all I can think of atm, love your vids Morgan❤

There's a certain irony about Valentino being the "predatory" one. Because while Angel is a spider demon, Val is a moth demon. A "prey" demon who, through exploiting how sinners fall prey to desires, became the powerful Moth oVerlord.
Oh and by the way, that love potion that Velvette sells? That's made from the aether that Valentino emits.

I feel the "Tell Death do us Part" is mockery towards a wedding vow. But that line may be a subtle dig to Angel's Mafia roots. After all, in the Mob, once your inducted, you typically are in it for life.
The time and culture Angel was from didn't exactly look kindly on people such as himself. And there weren't exactly means to help him deal with the stuff he was going though, aside from self-medicating on cocaine or heroine. We do know he uses coke (in addition to PCP since we see him eagerly getting a bag of the stuff) since he admitted to Cherri in the pilot he was sneeking it to make it look like he was sober.
I get the feeling that there is more to that Overdose then Angel himself is even aware of.
We finna get another character addition to the punch bag, if not a entirely new test dummy solely for beating with a metal bat!
I'm a survivor of SA and seeing you cry over just a fictional character going through it validates me so much, Angel Dust is one of my favorites simply because I relate to him so much. And despite this being set in Hell, there's still a line that you shouldn't cross, drugs, sex work, alcohol, being a general dickhead are all fine, and it's things people indulge in all the time, but SA is still wrong and frowned upon, even though it's set in Hell.
Oh jeez man. I'm sorry you had to go through all that. As a fellow survivor of SA I know how you feel.
This song always hits me hard, still does, and does get to me, because my own experiences with similar things, addiction, abuse of every kind. The end part, is what really hits home, the "giving me a dose of pleasure that resides by the pain" is the one line out of them all that hits me the hardest, and that scene with the mirror at the end never gets easier to see, so matter how many times i see it. The fear, the pain, the instant collapse of his entire bravado and tough act speaks to me.
Valentino is truly a scummy person, easily one of the worst people in hell, because he was shady porn producer in life, and he is doing the same things to Angel that he did in life, and even in death, in hell, he has a huge grip on the area, powerful, uses and abuses Angel to make porn and make him a ton of money, but Angel is unable to escape Valentino, and resists in any and all ways he can get away with, even if it means later he is beat down and used for Val's pleasure and amusement.

Just to clarify, Cherri isn't a sex worker
The sad truth of it is because the show is in hell they can’t make him better otherwise we will no longer be in the show because he would be in heaven. So either he only get so much better and not enough to go to heaven or he leaves the show by getting better and going to heaven
It’s definitely not that easy going into heaven, Angel is still a bad person but he has good traits and he can’t enter heaven just by getting help
@@Mia-zi2ec my hope is that most of the show is baced on convincing heaven, which would be the stoping force. This means all characters could be fully redeemed by the end of the show and the finale could be everyone finally getting to heaven with heaven on Charlie’s side

When the series comes out I hope Valentino's influences do start to attract more then just Husk's attention. I mean, I know Charlie has a lot on her plate with Adam and such. But there is still that moment in the trailer where Charlie is standing outside Angel's bedroom door and she bursts into tears as though all hope has just died. And given the photo on the door, that moment occurs somewhere in the final episodes of the first season.

I’m gonna give u every bit of info I have stored in my Brain that is hazbin hotel related, (all of this is canon)
Every year on New Years, angels come down to erase (permanently kill) demons to reduce overpopulation in hell. That Is the cleanse.
When that lady crossed out the name Franklin, that was Rosie. She is supposed to be a bigger character when they start the hazbin series in 2023.
We also have Baxter, an angler fish character who’s death is believed to be caused by the titanic sinking.
Angeldust’s family consists of a sister molly, a brother arackniss, and a dad of no name. They where Italian mafia bosses in the real world. U can see they’re character designs in the animatic “daddy issues” from vivzie.
Alastor was a cannibal and was trying to bury a body in the forest one day while people where hunting for dear. There hunting dogs smelt him and they shot Alastor in the forehead while their dogs attacked him, thinking Alastor was a deer.
