    Wow! Each and every video that you make Dan is SUPERBLY AWESOME! The Doggy in the wheelchair, the innovative and brainy tapatíos are always up to something in their beautiful city! lol....as for the giant's nose and ears, Nari and you sticking your head up the nostril, good thing its only a statue and not a real giant, can you imagine the size of that "lougi" the nose would blow out?!! And the mural by who, José Clemente Orozco, the detail, the colors are totally mindblowing and yeah, I'm sure glad you didn't leave out the local food, that torta ahogada sure looks good and COOL seeing ya eat it with your hands, so many people eat tamales, tacos and tortas with forks and knives, those foods were made to be held by one's hand and munched on gradually until finish. And yes so AWESOME of ya to include the Catrina singing the son jarocho 'La Bruja', always a favorite to listen and even more special for it to be performed by such a beautiful Catrina! ;)

    Wow! It's nice to see the New Travel finally visiting my city. I haven't been there since the 90's. A lot has changed, I guess. Though downtown looks the same. Except for that "nose guy" (it wasn't there before). Hope you folks get to try the popular "Tejuino" (if you haven't already) and let us know what you think. ;)
    What I love about Guadalajara is the fact that despite being a major city, it manages to keep its "provincial atmosphere." In every Mexican city, (I think Mexico City is an exception) you will find a plaza featuring a characteristic kiosk with a "Palacio de Gobierno," or a beautiful cathedral near by. As we know, Guadalajara has all of that. Guadalajara offers pretty much anything a major city may offer you, but unlike Mexico City, it doesn't have certain things that while not essential, are nice to have. For example, in Guadalajara there's no "Biblioteca Vasconcelos" a "Filmoteca Nacional," or a National Museum of Anthropology. (Then again, there may be new cool stuff now that after all these years, I may not be aware of). In any case, it's a very unique city. And much of the "identity of Mexico" is found there and in the state of Jalisco in general. :)
    PS - I can't believe I forgot to mention that girl singing in the end: She's an artist!

    • @miguelidcomm
      @miguelidcomm 4 года назад

      Looking back in 2019, (at this speech that I wrote) It turns out Guadalajara does have its own amazing library! It's called "Biblioteca José Arreola." I strongly recommend those of you who love books or beautiful buildings (like me), to visit this interesting place if you ever visit Guadalajara.ruclips.net/video/0cFosvcn2h4/видео.html -
      PS - There's also a "Filmoteca" in the city. :)

    You don't know how bizarre it is to see those streets that I am so used to seeing on RUclips.
    It's absolutely crazy! To see it from a tourists perspective, because I am so so used to it, my sister goes to that school that you got a shot of (she's studying singing) it's the anex for music from the University of Guadalajara.

      As for the architecture, it's predominantly french, thanks to our ex-president Porfirio Díaz, that even though is despised for his blatant classism and supressing a vast majority of the Mexican population, still made significant progress in what architecture and communication as well as transportation goes, making the biggest line of telegraphs and train connections,also his political influence with the French (who gifted lots of big art pieces, like some of the quioscos that now live in Guadalajara) helped in big part with treaties with other countries. There was a big dispute as he fled to France after the revolution and died there, so about a 100 years later or so the government was speaking of bringing his rests back to the country.
      None of this, however justifies him becoming a dictator (with the longest reign of 30 years) and making all the horrible things that he did, (fun fact: part of this history is the reason why getting paid is called rayar, but that's another story) so he became one of the biggest reasons of the start of the Mexican Revolution.
      Okay bye, I've vomited enough Mexican history for everyone in the comment section, I think

    You should go to the international book fair in Guadalajara. The guest country is Portugal and it is like Portugal-theme atmosphere around, and many of the conferences are simultaneously translated into English, due to the international attendance it has. There are many famous authors and artists presenting books and new stuff. It is in fact the second largest Book Fair in the world, only second to Frankfurt’s. It is located at Expo Guadalajara and the entrance is around 25 pesos pp. it,ll be opened until Sunday and it is like THE CULTURAL EVENT of the year in the city.
