Multiculturalism is an identity-less low trust society full of people who stick to and vouch for their own kind, with no spiritual ties to the land they occupy. 50 years ago Immigrants used to denounce their citizen ship for a Canadian passport. They dedicated themselves to this country. They rarely flew back where they came from and never sent money back. Today, they only want permanent residence status (something like 75% of them) so they can legally occupy two countries and without giving full loyalty to Canada, because what is Canada to them? It’s nothing to them other than a place to make money, they don’t see Canadian culture or all the other ethnicities in Canada as “theirs”. They fly back and forth multiple times a year, they send money back home, they bombard our social services and they all have one foot out the door.
Just today I have found your channel and Dan, I would like to say thank you for posting these types of videos where you can see the variety of cultures and languages, that the people around the world are very friendly and intelligent. It definitely has made my day. Keep up the great work!
Dan, this was a really beautiful video and I especially like the end where you talked about how grateful you are for everything that we and you have done, never give up your dreams! 🐢
Thanks for this fun series on languages, Dan. I only speak English fluently, am so-so in French and German, and am currently learning Turkish. Looking forward to your new content in 2024 :) - I live in Victoria.
We've been watching your videos for a while now; I wish my wife and I had met you while you were filming this here in Vancouver. She can speak 5 languages. Keep the great videos coming.
Delightful channel. Your inspiring message at the end cheered me up. Good times ahead. I'm Flemish, a Dutch speaking Belgian. Other languages: French, English, German, Swedish, Norwegian, little Spanish and tiny bit of Japanese. And two 'dead languages': Latin and ancient Greek.
A lot of people claim to speak french. Frankly, I do not believe that is true. I am French. I have been to Vancouver. One or two people were capable of speaking french…
You might have had better opportunity to meet French speakers in Montreal. I was there years ago and multiple places had employees that only spoke french. I only got by because at the time I could read Spanish and was able to understand the menus. Ive noticed that Vancouver and Toronto Canadians don’t speak French. Well the people that I have met.
To be fair, the majority of people in this video didn’t claim to speak French either. It’s an international city, as seen in this video, a lot of people in Vancouver were born abroad.
🐢every time I watch one of these videos, I get amazed by how many languages exist and motivated to learn them!! good content, as always. thank you Dan!!
I miss Vancouver. I lived in Seattle during The Great Recession. So, it was a strange reversal: The US dollar was at its rock bottom against Canadian dollar. It was always an expensive trip. But I loved the largeness of the city. And the amazing landscape in the surrounds. The sheer variety of East Asian foods was super nice.
🐢Love your videos, you expand my world! I'm somewhat of a (taal-purist) language-purist, always noticing spelling/grammar mistakes, which if you point it out, most people don't like to hear it. I'm Dutch, and I speak 5 languages, to be: Dutch (Nederlands) German (Duits) French (Frans) English (Engels) and a little Portugese (Portugees).
Merry Christmas, Daniel, and keep up providing us with this amazing and meaningful content! I am from the Azores (S. Miguel Island), but I am passionate about meeting new cultures, and strangers. Fortunately enough, working in Tourism makes it possible, and with the current and growing influx, we manage to see people from around the world. Apart from that, I've always been curious about Canada. Perhaps because it's always been portrayed to be like a multicultural environment (My uncle used to live in Montréal for about 30 years,; he moved there without speaking a single word of neither French or English), even if the current situation is becoming rougher (with rent prices going up in Montréal, and with violence increasing among public schools).
Hello! I’m from Vancouver Canada, and I’m so glad you visited our city and checked it out. It’s a small port city but I’m glad it’s also getting recognition.
Man, I'm Ukrainian 🇺🇦 and always waiting for your new videos! Your content is just amazing! You really motivate me to learn more and more new languages ✊🏻
You want a tap on your shoulder or a cookie now, because you are Ukrainian? Couldn’t you say what you want to say without mentioning you are Ukrainian? You guys get way too much attention.
when i saw ur community post that u were almost done ur last "WLDYS" video, i had the suspicion that it would be vancouver haha. its awesome that ur final city is my hometown, and that its conveniently also the longest in ur series!! now i got a better idea of what everyone in my city speaks.
The weather looks like Melbourne in June. Gloomy, grey. Brings me back to Melbourne in early winter. Everyone walks around with a depressed look on their face. 5pm and it's dark. Everyone incorporates the weather into their mood.
when the girl at 7:00 said Brockville, Ont., it triggered my memory that I lived there 44 years ago !! lol... so I went on streetview...and wow did it change especially the marina area !!! the house I lived in is still there and in pretty good shape !! too funny !!!!

One of things I love about Canada is this. I can speak and understand English Urdu/Hindi Punjabi I can understand French in fairly simple convos but would one day love to fully learn it at least to a beginner level. I can read Arabic but not understand or speak it lol. So many cool languages to learn with such diversity, e.g. mandarin, German, Spanish etc.
Mexican living in Vancouver, this city is so diverse and multicultural, you get in the bus or skytrain and listen to punjabi, Spanish, tagalo, mandarin, japanese, it blows my mind.

Bonjour Dan, I’m planning to visit Vancouver next summer. Quand viendras-tu à la ville de Québec?
🐢every time I watch one of these videos, I get amazed by how many languages exist and motivated to learn them!! good content, as always. thank you Dan!!
You make the world and people feel safely kind as I watch these video I am grateful and hope fun for our future.Thank You.
Thank you, Dan, for this nice video with so beautiful and interesting people 💫
Hello Dan! Thanks for another interesting video. I have been looking forward to seeing them for a few months now. Keep up the good work. :)
She indeed mentioned about the architecture at 10:52 but immediately forgot about this))
🐢Love your videos, you expand my world!
🐢 Thank you for your videos. They make me realize there are still good, kind people in the world.
Lovely channel, thanks for your thoughts at the end of the video. Happy holiday season 🤗
Thanks for mentioning the other side of youtube - viewers, us! The great privilege of human is ability to communicate. Great job, man. Good luck!

when i saw ur community post that u were almost done ur last "WLDYS" video, i had the suspicion that it would be vancouver haha. its awesome that ur final city is my hometown, and that its conveniently also the longest in ur series!! now i got a better idea of what everyone in my city speaks.
Congratulations for you Dan! I'm Brazilian and i see all your videos! Good luck for you!
Hey if you’re still in town go to Bon’s off broadway on Broadway and Nanaimo st. Full breakfast for $3 all day. And $2 refill coffee. Really good!
*Brilliant words at the end! Do your passion!*
Thank you so much for your content, it's amazing !
🐢 Love your videos Dan! I enjoy all of the human connections that you make.
The weather looks like Melbourne in June. Gloomy, grey. Brings me back to Melbourne in early winter. Everyone walks around with a depressed look on their face. 5pm and it's dark. Everyone incorporates the weather into their mood.
Love to see the interviews ... go on its so interesting.
when the girl at 7:00 said Brockville, Ont., it triggered my memory that I lived there 44 years ago !! lol... so I went on streetview...and wow did it change especially the marina area !!! the house I lived in is still there and in pretty good shape !! too funny !!!!
Dan, thank you for bring us and know a lot of cities. I discovered your channel because I wamted to learn English and with each video. I can learn a little bit expressions maybe my English level is not so good but I keep trying. I hope that someday I can speak at least two languages.
The Filipino guy w/the history lesson about the many old & new islands was a nice treat.

I’m a Vancouverite living in the UK now and this made me so homesick.
I'm a fan of your videos and excited to hear that you have big plans for 2024! Keep up the good work Dan!
Random person from Kenya, with his finger marking his place in Churchill's autobiography!
I also love the random person who speaks English, Irish and Russian. Not the expected combo, but makes sense when she pointed out where she is from and where she lives.
here supporting you from a little bit far from Canada (Uruguay). keep doing an excellent work, and we'll see you next time!
Come to Canada 🇨🇦

The Irish accent is so good. Very underrated.
Thank you for making these amazing videos, hope one day you can come to China to do interviews
@@kenyup7936Japan and Korea, yes. China though? No. They have a multitude of regional languages and use Standard Mandarin as a lingua franca
Thank you Daniel! Me gusta mucho tu contenido
Very cool! Thanks!
One of things I love about Canada is this.
I can speak and understand
English
Urdu/Hindi
Punjabi
I can understand French in fairly simple convos but would one day love to fully learn it at least to a beginner level.
I can read Arabic but not understand or speak it lol.
So many cool languages to learn with such diversity, e.g. mandarin, German, Spanish etc.
Great video. Thx
17:53 Is that a Bob Dylan vinyl up the cabinet?
