That's pretty accurate. Engine Masters hit a stock 305 with a 250 shot and it took it. They tried for a 300 shot and it pinched a ring. It ended up making over 500hp at the flywheel. Videos on RUclips.

This was a good test and pretty closely measures up to engine masters episode on how's much a stock engine could handle and they used a 305 for the test...i personally have a small block swapped S10 with the 230 hp version of the 305 ( it's most powerful production version built for mercruser for inboard boat use) and hooked it to a th200 metric 3 speed and it runs like forest gump chasing Jenny😂 it books for being a boat anchor small block!

Yeah i would had stopped at 160hp but with 4.10 gears and some semi slicks 295 the results would be similar of a sucessful 230hp shot!

I wonder if the 307 would do any better? I've heard that despite being basically the same displacement as the 305, the 307 was tougher and would run like hell if you built and tuned it right.

Too bad the sounds from the mod don't work anymore.
My favourite sound was the LF9 Diesel which was used in the Delta 88 aswell as the Custom Cruiser.
Maybe you could try out that Diesel next?
I'd love to see how much it can pull or how much power it can handle.

I have one in my mud truck took bout 4600 dallors to build the engine but once I tell people an pop the hood a little 305 just built an stock bore an stroke many go well she rips that's for sure but downside runs like a complete crack head that need hasn't had his fix when you not on the bottle.
