Morning brother. The scales are shiny! I don't think the protective tip goes into the sheath, because then when you pull the knife out you would have to take off the tip cover every time. Hope you're having an awesome Sunday!
I know I spend a lot of time with folders on my channel, but I am a fixed blade guy, even more than folders. while it is decent for EDC folders, 9CR is not really very good for field work, so I would relegate this to around town/around the house. I have several fixed blades that are most certainly NOT field knives, and there is a place for them.
@@BeezBlades actually I prefer 1095. it has the toughness I need, but is also very easy to sharpen in the field. and in my (very limited) experience unless it's heat treat is PERFECT 3v can be brittle, and not really suited for chopping, or batoning.
I like both knives, first fixed blade I have seen that looks comfy and you can get a good grip Lol 😆😂 a Strong 8 on the GIGGITTY GIGGITTY Meter, Nice and Smooth 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
PS: after getting my HIC-CUP, (thanks for the discount btw) The only nitpick is the gnurling on the push button is a leeeetle aggressive… crap, it’s just plain sharp and scratchy! Nothing than can’t be remedied, but they should have used the same style as they used on the Assassin… nice and smooth, making it perfect outa the box.👍🏻 That Ulti Clip recommended below is great idea for the Brazoria… it’s not too big and aggressive for a pocket carry… gonna have ta try that out.

I like a good pocket knife and a good fixed blade. I just don't have as much use for a fixed blades now a days as I once used to. Tell you one thing for sure, I am really digging that Kizer Hic-Cup. Well its now T-4 days until the Firday Live at the Hive special celebration of the 4th of July. Can't wait for this live coming up.
The folder's a bit too plain. (To be fair, we've been spoiled by Kizer lately with cool designs. The bar has been raised.) The color of the scales doesn't pop on screen and is probably better in person though. I like the look of the fixed blade. It's a bit too big for pocket carry which is what I prefer. It's not too big to be cumbersome on the belt, which is nice. A little smaller and it would go on the list. Fixed blades in the 2.5 to 3.25 inch range are great for pocket carry.
I'm definitely a folder guy, but man that ergos on the fixed blade are so freaking comfortable. I guess the main thing, is caring a fixed blade and a space it takes up, and how convenient it is to carry it work and not be on your hip.

A fantastic, slender, medium, budget fuller/flipper knife with a jimped, coated, clippoint blade. A great second knife (after a RAT1 or Penguin)! Gotta LUV that Sencut fixie (great first working bowie!).
Bringin' the fixed blades into the mix. I like it! Nice to have a little variety. I still have the "Sharp" (brand) Fixed blade knife I got when I was in the cub scouts/boy scouts. I've had to replace the rivets holding the wooden scales in place but other than that, been a faithful knife for now something over 40 years. Folding pocket knifes are far more fidget friendly and much easier to carry, but you can't beat a good fixed blade for when you need to get some serious work done. Thanks Beez!

Really like that "What-cha-Mc-Call-it" fixed blader and it would've been my first, except my eyes are still on the Kizer "Baby"; bigger blade, better steel, better sheath, better clip, and better price....and no large holes missing from the handle LOL! Oh, for Breakfast I had a peanut butter filled corn tortilla with a bowl of oatmeal with honey and cinnamon mixed in. Washed it down with a mug of Maxwell House Instant. The "Baby" isn't as stabby, but it's a real slicer for the kitchen.
I am all about these more popular more well known knife companies starting to market the EDC fixed blades because the more attention they get the more people start to look all around for them which inevitably with luck will help me with sales, not that I can even keep up with current requests plus the whole fixed blade carry has made it into my rotation almost every single day now.!!
There is something to be said for the ergos and usability of a fixed blade. I'm going to look more into how to carry them in your pocket, because I can't be wearing a sheath on my belt at work 😅. I hope you're having a great weekend my friend 👊
@@BeezBlades Most people seem to like the ULTICLIP. I didn't care for it because it seemed like it would wear a hole in my pants pretty quick. I could be wrong on that though. Real Steel makes a universal pocket clip that's OK. The downside to that on though is the small screws. Not a problem if you're used to torqueing down T6s. Amazon has the ULTICLIPS in various sizes and the Real Steel universal clip. Can always return 'em if they don't work for you.
Uuuhhh the Brazoria is a nice one. Realy cool bladeshape similar to the Cognet, which I think isn't that bad because the Cognet is more expensive. So it is a bit more butget frindly.
I like the 2nd one, she looks a ripa just the right size for the lower back and at that price great for camping. All the best from Western Australia!!!!!!!

I'm not expecting it, but I hope you do more fixed blade reviews. One of my favorite fixed blade brands are the LionSteel knives. I have a T5. LionSteel has a lot of different styles and sizes of fixed blades. They also have some folders. They're mid way expensive. Another super versatile fixed blade is the Ka-Bar BK7. It's great for camping and bushcraft as well is the LionSteel T5. Those are two top rated fixed blade knives I'd recommend to anyone looking for versatile fixed blades. There's lots more though such as the Tops brand knives. They're known for their excellent quality in 1095 carbon steel heat treating. If you're looking for budget fixed blades, Schrade has a ton of them. Fixed blade knives are a whole new universe of knives from mass produced to custom hand made.
I will definitely be checking out fixed blades from time to time. I completely appreciate them, and their use. I'm hoping once I retire that I will get a lot more opportunity spend time in the woods and camp. Be watching for some awesome fix blades in the next few days! I might even show a really cool one on the live stream this coming Friday 👊

@@BeezBlades Ok I measured it and it actually is 3.4" but includes the entire blade, taking it advice to tighten up or back off I've got BETTER blade action stropping on smooth leather made it keen enough to slice paper without a sound...I wish you'd teach "how to reverse flick" this Beast as you've made it look like cake but I get a slow roll if anything at all... can't do the Feldspar either...??! STILL ur biggest fan tho.. lol
Good morning Beez. I have that exact model of Brazoria, on my Edge-Up scale it is 115g sharp which is great for cutting. Opens and closes well. I like the fixed blade, Waxahachie but have several really good Esee and others that fill that genre. I was so disappointed Saturday morning, after seeing your grail Nymble X, I was going to go ahead and make it my most expensive knife in a long time. However, even though I was on the website at 09:55 waiting and at 10:00 went to get one and they all said sold out already, not sure how that happens but was very unhappy with them for that. Maybe they sold a bunch to retailers somehow.

I think they are doing a great job. I suspect that they are a little bit, on their own. By that, I mean they are kind-of separated from Civivi. Both of these are winners in my book. I like the ones that I have.

Doesn't look like it , but yes you can rotate the belt clip if you want to carry horizontal instead of vertical. Or at least I can with my CIVIVI fixed blade. Looks the same
Love my jade Brazoria, grey stonewash, got it on sale for approx. $20. bucks🤣 I've discovered a preference for manual folders like the Brazoria & Pilar3. Funny thing is can't justify buying and owning more than a few knives since I can only use one at a time🤣 IE. Love the pilar 3 grey stone washed d2 & been wanting to buy the special edition black stonewashed jade g2 But my first knife was the thumb stud, button lock, Sencut Sashe Guibourtia Black stonewashed & it is such a beautiful knife I had a hard time using it, so getting the black pilar3 jade g2 is going to be the same making it difficult justifying the purchase. I currently have 4 folding knives. A jade g2, D2 eafengrow 963 axis lock with a blade that looks like the Pilar3 but bigger, & I absolutely love to cut pineapple with it but other than fidget play time they aren't used.
Just found your channel a couple weeks ago, great reviewer! You are the only reviewer I've ever seen that actually gives real dimensions on knives which I think is so important I have never understood why nobody else does that, I even made a parody video of a popular reviewer highlighting that.
Last week I spent a lot of time on the Sencut site eying a Waxahachie and another blade in one of their bundle deals. Did not find the combination I wanted at the time. The bundle deals are even nicer. A lawyer said that the new Supreme Court 2A ruling should affect knife laws restrictions. If you hear anything in your knife world, perhaps you can slip it in at the July 4th Live at the Hive Ultra Mega Don't Miss It Jamboree and GiveAways!! J4LATHUMDMIJG...rolls right off the tongue.

I would imagine that for field work you probably want something like 3v Steel. Something tough that's going to keep an edge

The Brazoria is actually my favorite sencut from the blade show line-up! Love the blade shape and the black/burgundy colors are the cherry on top.

@@BeezBlades Ok I measured it and it actually is 3.4" but includes the entire blade, taking it advice to tighten up or back off I've got BETTER blade action stropping on smooth leather made it keen enough to slice paper without a sound...I wish you'd teach "how to reverse flick" this Beast as you've made it look like cake but I get a slow roll if anything at all... can't do the Feldspar either...??!

Good morning Beez. I have that exact model of Brazoria, on my Edge-Up scale it is 115g sharp which is great for cutting. Opens and closes well. I like the fixed blade, Waxahachie but have several really good Esee and others that fill that genre. I was so disappointed Saturday morning, after seeing your grail Nymble X, I was going to go ahead and make it my most expensive knife in a long time. However, even though I was on the website at 09:55 waiting and at 10:00 went to get one and they all said sold out already, not sure how that happens but was very unhappy with them for that. Maybe they sold a bunch to retailers somehow.

I think they are doing a great job. I suspect that they are a little bit, on their own. By that, I mean they are kind-of separated from Civivi. Both of these are winners in my book. I like the ones that I have.

Doesn't look like it , but yes you can rotate the belt clip if you want to carry horizontal instead of vertical. Or at least I can with my CIVIVI fixed blade. Looks the same

Love my jade Brazoria, grey stonewash, got it on sale for approx. $20. bucks🤣 I've discovered a preference for manual folders like the Brazoria & Pilar3. Funny thing is can't justify buying and owning more than a few knives since I can only use one at a time🤣 IE. Love the pilar 3 grey stone washed d2 & been wanting to buy the special edition black stonewashed jade g2 But my first knife was the thumb stud, button lock, Sencut Sashe Guibourtia Black stonewashed & it is such a beautiful knife I had a hard time using it, so getting the black pilar3 jade g2 is going to be the same making it difficult justifying the purchase. I currently have 4 folding knives. A jade g2, D2 eafengrow 963 axis lock with a blade that looks like the Pilar3 but bigger, & I absolutely love to cut pineapple with it but other than fidget play time they aren't used.
I only have a couple fixed blades but I gotta say I’m very impressed with that one.

Just found your channel a couple weeks ago, great reviewer! You are the only reviewer I've ever seen that actually gives real dimensions on knives which I think is so important I have never understood why nobody else does that, I even made a parody video of a popular reviewer highlighting that.
You get real info here. Not that anyone else is giving false info, but some just regurgitate the stats from web sites which are often not correct.

Last week I spent a lot of time on the Sencut site eying a Waxahachie and another blade in one of their bundle deals. Did not find the combination I wanted at the time. The bundle deals are even nicer. A lawyer said that the new Supreme Court 2A ruling should affect knife laws restrictions. If you hear anything in your knife world, perhaps you can slip it in at the July 4th Live at the Hive Ultra Mega Don't Miss It Jamboree and GiveAways!! J4LATHUMDMIJG...rolls right off the tongue.
