I remember when I heard this song and thinking it was such a powerful song, right up there with Sawyer Browns All These Years ,it just hits you in a place we've all been and never wanna be again.
I loved Sawyer Brown when I was in middle school and high school. That's when they were at their peak fame. I got to see them in concert close to my hometown. It was one of the craziest concerts I've ever attended. The drinks were flowing, and people were up on tables dancing. I was 12 and, honestly, a bit scared at that age, but it was a great time.😂
With this song, I really don't think they will be able to keep her out of the Hall Of Fame. Artists that are already in the Hall never ever came close to a recording like this one.
I think her priorities changed after she had her child. Plus she's not pop or wears tight clothes. Her video don't shake the booty. She still records, but on small labels (I believe her own)
it's just incredible, her singing is so effortless, like she's talking about something and it turns into beautiful music as it comes out. very few artists have this amount of natural talent just flow out of them. she sounds as good, or perhaps better live than she does recorded. most of these modern day twits hardly sound any good on the albums and without enhancement wouldn't even perform live because they suck! thank god we've heard the best so we can ignore the rest.
Suzy was always under rated but she was tops on my list of great Country Singers. She's a beautiful person in every way!! I'll always listen to her music till i die!!
A Beautiful Woman and Performer ! I Love this song ! When I hear ACES I think about Love being like a deck of cards ! In the beginning you have two Hearts and and a Diamond, however as time goes on you might want a Club and a Spade !
I think I know what you mean. I tell people that I love country music -- about 5% of it. But since there is so much country music, 5% is still a LOT of GREAT music.
Nice song, but nothing could have saved mine. I did some undercover detective work and got a candid picture of my wife's love. I took a dollar out of my pocket and took a picture, and sure enough that was her secret love, and the house was practically paid off. Should have got a picture of that too. My house that is.
This song was one of two songs, the other being Mark Chesnutt's "Almost Goodbye", that came out the year my mom and dad divorced, 1992, that I still enjoy all these years later. So emotional. I wish Suzy was on today's radio. Talent isn't wasted on her.
Beautiful lady Beautiful voice beautiful song. Letting go is my favorite song tgat she does. Especially since my precious granddaughter just started college.😅
Boy, was she a 'Heart-Throb' back then... And, just got right up w/that guitar and KILLED IT-!!! And, she is (STILL) a PHENOMINAL musical entertainer... One of my FAV's-!!!!!!! 😆😍👍✌
One of the all time greats and one of the most beautiful natural beauties in Country Music. Her music has a very special place in my heart as heard in the 90's. She still performs but in down home places and just with her acoustic guitar.
that is the kind of country I am familiar with. What a song and what a performer. Can not be repeated this day. Oh! How I miss the good old country music.
She just open her mouth and a beautiful sound comes out. What a natural. I've seen her a couple of times in concert and really enjoyed every second of it. She left me wanting more.
I was wondering about that, too. After singing along to this song all my life, I just realized this week that I had no idea what this song was about. I looked it up. It was written by Cheryl Wheeler. I found this reply by her about what this song is about: "The song is about three people: persons A, B, C. Person B is singing. It starts with persons A & B (who are 2 female former/sort of current friends). Person A introduces person B to person C (a man who is person A's former boyfriend). Persons B & C go off into the sunset." So, the "Aces" line means you can't fix me up with your ex and, then, be mad when we hit it off. Hope that helps.😉
LOve love Suzie. On a funny note, the guitarist KINDA looks like a plumper, mullet wearing Will Ferrell.... Especially when he is singing the harmonies with her....such a pure voice.... Here Suzie sing this dictionary....instant hit!!!!!!! :)
+roundrocktx I lived not far from Cheryl in SE MA. Had the pleasure of seeing her perform at a few local places, just her and her guitar. A very talented songwriter and performer.
She sounds Just as good live as she does on the CD. Wow I miss this kind of country music
What a voice. She was one of the best.
Still is
True Country here. God i miss this syle . Todays country is not true country
amen, brother . . . . . . . .
Suzy's voice is so honest! No pretentions. You can hear that she feels every single note.
Props to the lead guitar/background singer. That dude is great!
PRO !
Don't shoot the piano player or slide guy either all right in .
Loved this song since if first arrived on country music radio. It's message holds true the same today as it did 25 years ago.
the first time I heard this song it woke me from a dead sleep.gives me chills every time I hear it
Beautiful music, beautiful woman. Quite the icon

Love you girl
The most beautiful woman ever to grace a country music stage
i love this song so much. I sing it to my best friend and he always asks me to sing it again
SO SOOTHING,,,,THE SONGS AND SOUND OF THIS BEAUTIFUL TALENTED LADY,,,,/ LOVE FROM AMERICA,,,!!!
Suzy Bogguss - the first to bring back the wide brim hats in style! 😍😍😍😍. She’s an Original !
Sweet Suzy! See you in a few weeks at the Dakota in Minneapolis! 😊
I could fall in love with this girl.... I saw her perform this year in Suffolk England, still has a beautiful voce.....wonderful
Now that is music. That voice and the pocket the musicians are creating around her is just magical. This level of talent is missing today.
this is my " favourite " Suzy Bogguss song !
Also check out "Letting Go". -a tear-jerker.
mine too :)
Hrd to believe she's now 67!! It's like time shopped when she was a major name in the '90s - and she'll always be in her late 30s in my memories.
She reminds me of Linda Ronstadt, just love her music,
To me she should have had the recognition Ronstadt has.
With this song, I really don't think they will be able to keep her out of the Hall Of Fame. Artists that are already in the Hall never ever came close to a recording like this one.
Hall of Fame talent for sure.
@@scottfleming2190 Scott, "Someday Soon".

I love this song!!
Clean, beautiful, pure country music, you can't get any better than Suzy Boggus, don't understand why she is not still recording.
I think her priorities changed after she had her child. Plus she's not pop or wears tight clothes. Her video don't shake the booty. She still records, but on small labels (I believe her own)
@@jonnuanez2843 exactly.
She is, she has a new record out and is on tour with Kathy Mattea, as well on tour with Terri Clark and Pam Tillis.

I am going to see her in Canton, GA next Friday night..I'm really excited. I love her voice and her music so very much!!
suzy bogguss was aces in the 90's.
Always loved this song and Suzy. Glad to hear she is still singing.
Voice of an angel
Suzy was always under rated but she was tops on my list of great Country Singers. She's a beautiful person in every way!! I'll always listen to her music till i die!!
One of the purest voices in Country Music - love her music.
2:51. Absolute magic singing that into the mic.
Bravissimo
Great song brilliantly performed by one of the greatest country singers ever!!
Simply amazing...pitch perfect and angelic. Unfortunately, they are not making them like this anymore. I am hoping to see her someday soon:-)
+Dave Bakos Of course they are, you're looking at her.
I was able to see Suzy in concert about a year ago. It was truly wonderful.
One of the more bell clear voices I've ever heard. I envy you. I've not been to concert since 1993.
Connie Martin f
I read where Waylon Jennings talked about Suzy always singing in "tone center". She does make it look effortless.
Is that a good thing?
@@katisingh Yes, obviously, dumb ass.
Suzy is so under rated, she should be as be as Reba
Suzy she be as big as Reba and others.
Suzy, has such 'Range' with her voice... PHENOMINAL-!!! (I JUST LOVE HER)-!!!!!!! Her band is WAY AWESOME, too; tho... J/S 🙂👍
one of the best female voices ever. love Suzy.
A Beautiful Woman and Performer ! I Love this song ! When I hear ACES I think about Love being like a deck of cards ! In the beginning you have two Hearts and and a Diamond, however as time goes on you might want a Club and a Spade !
Wow
I listen to this song as often as possible. I love love love love this song!!!!!!
Pair this song with Janie Fricke’s “The First Word in Memory”, and you really have a dynamic duo.
Written by the GREAT CHERYL WHEELER!!!
Now that's country music damn I need a beer
Wake up music city and Hollywood! You're missing out on talent!
Good stuff Suzi!
looking and sounding good
More country should be like this now
Another very underrated artist who never got the credit she deserved
A Cheryl Wheeler song covered by Suzy...who does it great.
I have always loved Suzy's Music and her pure voice not to mention her beauty.
Thanks for these great videos so we can fall in love all over again~!!
I think I know what you mean. I tell people that I love country music -- about 5% of it. But since there is so much country music, 5% is still a LOT of GREAT music.
Perfect vocals on a beautiful song.
One of the best female voices ever! I'd love to sing/ record with her.
This song once put a bad situation in perspective....and saved a marriage.....
a trick : you can watch movies on Flixzone. Been using them for watching a lot of movies during the lockdown.

She was cute as a button with an awesome voice. Still is today, under rated performer she is as good as it gets. She sings so effortless.
She's just the best of all time IMO.
She almost stops my heart when she sings this one~!! All the dislikes must be a sorry lot indeed.

Saw her live about 3 months ago. Very entertaining!
Her voice couldn't sound more perfect, more crystalline...
Miss 80'90's some of the best ladies of that era! Too bad they are not still around.

Beautiful lady singing real country songs!
I love you Suzy!
Suzie is awesome..her and Pam Tillis
You can't deal me the aces and think I wouldn't play...
Absolutely awesome.
She has the most beautiful voice
It baffles my mind how Beauty and Talent could be 'Rolled-Up' into one, back then... And, I'm still a 'YUGE' Fan-!!! 😁👍✌
Don't forget class. That is so lacking in most of the music industry today.
Beautiful lady Beautiful voice beautiful song. Letting go is my favorite song tgat she does. Especially since my precious granddaughter just started college.😅
Great version, but prefer the Cheryl Wheeler original .
Amazing talent to this day

She`s still performing .
Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, take notes... This is country.
Absolutely; I don't understand this whole notion of having to sing your lungs out in order to confirm talent; great comment.
I really like this song but, I don't know what it is talking about.

Been going back to my teens and early 20s to when the music was so much better.
One talent that didnt get her due. Or perhaps she's still getting it from true blue Country fans. Come back, Suzy, we ain;t done with you yet.
This is just plain better than good it flows right into my mind and heart, I've been in that song many many times

Timothy Hanson OMG I didn't notice it the first time, Went back and watched again and that is a dead ringer for Will lol.
She makes it look so effortless (when in reality to sing like this, so pitch perfect is very hard). She's the real deal...
Okay, a couple of beers deep: my marriage

+Don't Call Me Lenny! Great! I saw her years ago in Austin TX.
If you are given a beautiful Cheryl Wheeler song like this, it's bound to be terrific.
Suzy is a beautiful and fantastic artist. I saw her in IOWA at the casino in southern part of Iowa. She was just fantastic.
This is what Nashville need so bad today. REAL TALENT.
She was beautiful , so pretty man in another life perhaps . Song really hits me for some reason , i dont wanna tell myself why.
She's got such a squeaky talking voice, but when she's singing, she absolutely kills it.
She a REAL talent
Bob Dylan in reverse. He has a fairly deep talking voice but squeaky singing voice. At least he did in his heyday.
She's got the cutest nose!!!
... and so gorgeous. A dream!
@ForeverAnalog I do really enjoy Martina
What a voice!
