Hey Nick. I buy a lot of different products from Hobby Lobby. The poly quilt batting works extremely well to make DIY turf mats or vines by delayering it and stretching it in thin cob web like sheets. I paint mine with Krylon's Fusion Matt Spanish Moss and apply different colors and textures of scenic turf. I use the floral wire to make DIY trees and floral foam to make concrete piers. I use the air dry clay to make seed and feed bags. The jewelry wire and chains work for tie downs and utility high lines. I use the candel scents to make my own scented smoke fluid from mineral oil. Not mineral spirits. I have used their paper mache. Evergreen styrene plastic sheets, I do buy the 1/64th scale cars because they match the Lionel diecast semi trucks and construction vehicles and flat car loads plus they fit my autoracks. I used the Christmas pine trees by removing the snow flocking and reflocking with scenic turf and hairspray. And of course acrylic artist and craft paint and mediums, Aleene's Tacky Glue, Mod Podge, Silly Winks foam sheets to make asphalt streets. If you scrath build, it has a lot to offer that looks so much better than the commercial offerings. You're only limited by ones imagination. Which is important for those of us who model in 0-scale because of the limited convincing commercial offerings in this scale.

Hobby lobby is my spot for less fine details stuff Woodland is still king for most stuff. Michaels used to have a full line of Woodland scenic stuff we frequented them a lot when I was getting into model trains as a kid. Good review. Hobby lobby has a lot of good inventory, particularly model paints and glues. Also beads, stings etc as you pointed out. The only downside is their pricing. When possible, I use Michael’s with their perpetual coupons and discounts.

The fake fur sheets can be cut and trimmed with an electric beard trimmer to simulate grass fields. Add some green flocking and you can make all seasons type of grass.
