Bought 2 of them for me and my dad and by far it’s the best bike I’ve ever owned. Only problem I’d say is the battery life and price, it should be around 9-11k
I wish they had a trail version for a better price. Don’t get me wrong I like race bikes but if they did a trail version for around the 9k mark I would be all in. Do y’all do track or trail more on the Stark Varg
@@RidinWithD-cv5hu I haven’t got to any tracks so we just be on trails and the street. Hopefully in the future they release a cheaper version for 7-9k
Both bikes are great, the ultra has such a huge aftermarket support, not to mention suspension has just got released for the ultra which was its weakest link. Appreciate the honest review.
Thanks! It’s really hard to beat the ultra for the price.
that's awesome man i have a few dirt bike videos myself
Looks like you have an amazing place to ride on your videos.
Ive got mine in australia 2 weeks ago. The bike is really is nice. When I took it out it took me less than 5 minutes to decide that ill never buy a petrol dirt bike again. Battery power still sucks for road bikes so ill stick to my drz400e for road trips. Biggest thing that pisses me off though is the phone. It frustrates me that they couldnt have made a normal display.
I think a normal display would be better. It wasn’t in the video but at one point when I was riding the bike the display froze and kelp saying I was in neutral. I had to stop and reset. I don’t know what the problem was but I would think if you take the phone in and out of the bike a lot it would ware down.
Varg ownder here , I would not be seen dead on any surron bike . They are a kids toy in comparison to the varg .initial purchase price is not everything , the varg will have much better resale than a surron
To me the ultra bee is a serious bike. Now that’s not saying it’s better than the VARG but for the riding I do it feels just as good in the trails. I’m sure the VARG will shine on the track or places where those 80 horses can gallop. I bet as time goes all of the electric bikes will lose a lot of value with battery degradation and the fast paced changing in battery technology. Not fun to lose money but good to see the technology get better.
@@RidinWithD-cv5hu battery degradation is slower than the degradation of a gas engine that is basically f&$cked after 200 hours . Resale on gas bikes is dog shit anyway so an electric bike can’t be any worse. Battery life cycles is 500 plus . If you get an hour from each charge on average that’s 500 hours riding . How many bottom and top ends is that on a 4 stroke ?
Yeah that’s a good point on the cycles of use. For a dirt bike it will probably be degradation from setting not from the cycles of use. But hopefully as the technology gets better that will not be a factor. The Stark VARG seems to have sold relatively well so maybe the big brands will get on the wagon and make the tech surge even more. Your right about resale but unless it’s a special bike they will mostly all lose value some will be more than others when we look at msrp or buying used. I will say I really like electric dirt bikes so, it’s not that I’m against them like some maybe. I like the stark VARG I don’t like the price but as technology get cheaper hopefully the price will come down. Or, as the company scales and sells more maybe they will have different versions.
@@RidinWithD-cv5hu degradation from “ setting “ what do you mean ??
Just natural degradation from setting in a state of charge. The minerals will degrade from what I’ve read and seen. But I’m sure you know since you own a VARG that this is really based on the state of charge. According on who you ask or what you read but most of what I read they are happiest 50-80 percent charge to fight general/natural degradation. Does the VARG have a setting for the charger to stop at those points? That will help over time as the bike might set in the winter or whenever not in use. But even with all these measures we see electric cars etc have problems with just setting at a state of charge will fall flat when used after setting for a while even after charged back up to 100. I’m hoping that is just older battery tech and that won’t be the case with bikes like the VARG but we really won’t know for a while I guess. Do you know where there batteries are made? From what I’ve read in the past that can have a high impact on how the battery performs long term. I try to keep my electric bikes at around 50-80 percent charge when I’m not riding them. Just like my gas bike I drain the gas. Good thing about the electric bikes too is even with this small probabilities of battery might degrade that still doesn’t compare to maintenance from other bikes and very little to no maintenance for electric bikes in my opinion anyway.
How many hours on it
I don’t remember seeing. It was locked so I couldn’t see a lot of the info about the bike. It rode and looked like it had a lot. But still seems to be taking the abuse.
