The biographical film The Catcher Was a Spy (2018) was based on Nicholas Dawidoff's biography, The Catcher Was a Spy: The Mysterious Life of Moe Berg (1994). The film was directed by Ben Lewin, and Berg was played by Paul Rudd. It premiered at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival.
Berg is the subject of the documentary film The Spy Behind Home Plate by Aviva Kempner, released in 2019.
Berg is the subject of Chuck Brodsky's 2002 ballad, "Moe Berg: The Song".

“Maybe I’m not in the Cooperstown Baseball Hall of Fame like so many of my baseball buddies, but I’m happy I had the chance to play pro ball and am especially proud of my contribution to my country. Perhaps I could not hit like Babe Ruth, but I spoke more languages than he did”
    Moe Berg

There's a story that Moe Berg was the basis for the phrase, "good field, no hit," in baseball, which means a player who is very good defensively in the field but can't hit. The story I heard was that either at Princeton or in the minors, (more likely the minors) the St Louis Cardinals sent a scout to one of his games to see if he was good enough to sign. The scout they sent was a Cuban former major leaguer who struggled with English at the times, when the Cardinals asked for his assessment of Berg he allegedly said, "Good field, no hit."

He had a disagreement with management, so he left Biographics, Geographics, and TopTenz. It was a fairly amicable split, he hasn't really addressed it other than to basically say he doesn't talk about his business dealings online. The manager in question released a very hat-in-hand response and I fully respect the situation. From what I gathered, the original manager passed away and his daughter was unexpectedly handed the reins and didn't do a great job. Simon wanted out, she let him go, she acknowledged where she could have done better, and promised she would try her hardest

The OSS was formed during WW2. You have to wonder who he was working for before the OSS. The CIA was formed after WW2. The Department of the Navy had its own intelligence directorate called the ONI. It ended up continuing to do what it did for the navy. The Department of War had control only of the army and had its own intelligence department which continued to do what it does for the army later on. The ONI and the Army intel were later put under the partial control of the Defense Intelligence Agency. Apparently the State Department had its own intelligence departments and so did the Department of the Treasury. The Department of Treasury probably tried to get intelligence on smuggling and foreign transactions from the US and a general idea of the state of other countries' financial situation. I doubt that Moe Berg worked for the Treasury. I also doubt he worked for the War department (army at the time) or the Navy. He fitted quite well with State though. When the OSS was formed and later on the CIA was established, the State stopped spying and the OSS and later on the CIA took over.
Worth saying that he most likely didn't get any order to kill Heisenberg because he could have backed out or be captured and that would have lead to the discovery of other spies or informants or the methods used to transfer intelligence. He probably was told to attend one of Heisenberg's speeches to get an idea of what he knew. Worth saying that the assassination of Heisenberg wouldn't have stopped the German nuclear programme at all. It would have slowed it down by a month but not by more. The research was done by others, Heisenberg was just a manager.

You’re a great host Karl, you should stay here permanently. Second, another reason why I think you should make a Kitty Genovese episode is because the 60th anniversary of her death is this March. So it would be timely. Plus you have a lot of time to write it. Just remember to put an emphasis on her life because we all heard about her death. And it would be interesting.

What the hell was the ad? I like squarespace, but the part on clowns was STUPID and is just making the video worse. Make it relatable to the VIDEO. If this was about BOZO the clown or the 3 Stooges this link could work. Morris "Moe" Berg was serious as they get. ESPN did a wonderful 30 for 30 short on him. I nearly disliked your video based solely on the stupid clown stuff. I'm at 8:36 in the video currently. Kirk I had faith you were getting better and yet alas no.
