When I learned she did her own arrangements the respect went from 95% to 120%. The 7/4 + 4/4 is so clever and the other musicians are so good. LOVE THE WORK!
I have no doubt you could sing the phone book and in both official languages! I have been following your career since day one and you just get better and better. You are officially a Canadian treasure-someone just needs to let the rest of our country know!
Best version of that song that I have heard. Emilie-Claire has a great voice and excellent timing. I really liked the solo by the tenor sax player. Who is she?
What gives this the real edgy, off-center sound is the time signature-- Sounds like 7/4 to me.. Then for 2 bars in the chorus it goes to 4/4 then back to 7/4. (That's how I hear it-- anyone agree?)
She is just so lovely and I love to watch and listen....❤

I totally dig this!!!
What a funky version! Love this!
Yes, it's the time that sets this arrangement apart. And WOW does it! I love everything about it.
That's awesome. I just fell in love with her and her voice.
Aww! : )

The sax player's name is Marie-Josée Frigon. She is a regular on the Télé-Québec program Belle et Bum.

Emilie-Claire Barlow Thank-you for replying. You have such an amazing voice, thank-you for sharing it with everyone. Any plans to perform in the UK?

hmmm. I count 4 measures of 4 in the chorus. Luv the 7/4 groove on this. Great performance by all!
That's Jazz and why I like it so much: no rules
Party going on....
