  • I struggled with addiction for almost 10 years. I have been in and out of jail/prison for years. Now I am working on my bachelors degree in psychology. This advice is based on my own personal opinion and experiences.

      Jessica Kent I will say this, possums are NOT meant to be seen in the light. They are meant to be seen at a distance at night, scurrying across the road. Or on the side of the road, but definitely not inside!

      Would you mind explaining to me what carpet surfing is please? (I'm on monitored WiFi so I don't really want to google it, but I was a bit confused by her explanation). • @alyssadana5011
      @alyssadana5011 5 лет назад +12

      Katie xox hey so carpet surfing is like “slang” I guess lol- and it’s just that coke and meth and stuff makes people go into psychosis’s(sometimes). So they will think they dropped their drugs. And they will literally get on their hands and knees and search the floor for drugs. So it’s called carpet surfing. Because they are looking for the drugs they think they lost. When in reality ( they didn’t loose any ). Do you get it a little better? Sorry it’s hard to explain and I’m not sure if I made it clearer for you lol ! And no prob 💋

I don’t want to get sober” “I can’t do this. I’ll never make it..” and I think that’s bc of you girl...so thank you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for seriously just being you. Thank you for starting a RUclips channel. Thank you for sharing your story. Thank you for continuing to share your story. It won't be easy but it will be so worth it. Appreciate the day you wake up and start feeling better, remember what you had to go through to get to that moment. We all have to "remember when" it helps keep us going. Someone told me "Anything you put ahead of your sobriety you will loose" I didn't understand it at the time but someone else posted it today in the comments and it reminded me of that. When we start to feel better it's easy to put jobs, people, school, money ahead of recovery, but if I start to value those above sobriety I will relapse and end up loosing all of those things. I guess I needed a reminder today, so thank you for sharing your story and reminding me of what I need to do today. You may not realize it but you reminding me is helping me stay clean/soberanother day. Thank you! Good luck! Drink alot of liquid, eat a lot of bananas, the potassium helps, eat a lot of anything actually, most are malnurished when we get to that point. Take any & all help they offer !

    I would like to see pictures of you from when you were in active addiction, you said you were so so skinny but I think you are skinny now so I can't imagine you being any smaller. Keep doing what you're doing. You are an inspiration and a voice for all of the women like you and I who have made it through hell, addiction, prison, and traumatic experiences surrounding our children. My story is similar to yours and it's important for people to understand that we are not scum. That addiction is a disease and once we are in recovery we are productive citizens, mothers, wives and employees. We deserve respect for what we've been through, not shame. I love your videos girl. I met someone on a plane once who was a recovered addict. She told me about how she got started shooting coke because her bf was doing it. I believed her life story but it was hard to believe just shooting coke. I've heard of speed balls. How exactly do you know how much to use with out giving yourself a freaking heart attack? I'm not a user but I have professional work in psychology, behavioral science and cognitive neuroscience. Was there some method of getting your amount for this? I know people at the small end buy the $20 bags of it. In the labs where rodents are used for testing there's over 100 years of research using various things like coke for behavioral tasks so the quantities are known and the lab is a completely different ball game from users get the $20 bags. Do tell.

    • @sawyerpannell9695
      @sawyerpannell9695 4 года назад +5

      @@LegalTyranny Haha. Ok. I don't recommend it by any means bc it takes you to a dark place in life. But usually just a small amount is all you need bc it is so potent. Lower quality and you need more per shot. I started with like a 5$ "bump" out of curiosity then worked my way up. I was using coke at the time so my body was somewhat used to it. There were times where you feel like you are gonna have a heart attack if you do too much. It is dangerous if you aren't a seasoned experienced junkie/cokehead with lots of IV experience. Even then it was dangerous. I was usually doing H and coke together but not always mixed. As time goes on and your body gets less and less healthy from using daily it is more easy to have severe problems. I was fortunate and stopped before all that. Hope this helps. I hope you are curious for medical reasons only. It'll destroy life.

    Your stories always amaze me Jess! I have almost 6 years clean from heroin and about 8 years clean from cocaine! It's a MIRACLE I'm still alive to tell my story! I almost went to prison for 10 years because of my using and saving my boyfriend's life from his FIRST of THREE overdoses (it's a VERY long story. I've considered starting my own channel to tell my story but I'm kind of scared of the negativity I see on here all the time. I don't know how you do it hun! To put yourself out there takes A LOT! It's awesome though!) but luckily I didn't wind up in prison but in treatment for 6 months. Unfortunately I had many bumps in the road after treatment but finally did get clean! I absolutely love you and your channel! Keep on going strong girl!

    I love that you offer people to message you and you offer to talk and help them. I know it seems fucked up that you had to go through all of this but you went through this to help others ! You were strong enough to get through so that you can help people get through their addictions. Girl I don’t know if anyone has told you or even if it matters coming from a stranger but I’m proud of you and am so thankful that you are helping this world be a better place. You are in my prayers. I remember about 6 months ago I was a heavy users of fentanyl/heroin I was trying really hard to get my life together I tried Suboxone but relapsed countless times and I remember watching a few of your videos about withdrawal and being locked up and how you over came your addiction to heroin and just knowing that there are other people out there who are going through the same battle's really gave me the strength to overcome my addiction. I have since been clean from fentanyl/heroin and other opioids and have since been employed full-time, got my own place, got a vehicle, earned the respect back from my family and truly things couldn't be better I'm grateful for every day I'm alive knowing I overcame one of the deadliest drugs on the planet. I watch your videos all the time and you really give me motivation to keep on being sober. Thank you

    I fr get tears in my eyes, your stories and the struggles you have overcame are so similar to how i once was. My sister is currently in the hospital recovering from her 3rd heroine overdose in the past year after being released from prison for manufacturing meth, which is how she got her heroin at the time. My brother is addicted to meth. I carry so much guilt, although i was not the one who got her started on heroin, it was me who took her around ppl where she learned how to cook. I got my brother started on meth. Its so hard to watch them go thru this. I have watched your vids with them and i can see they get emotional. I just hope one day soon they will realize they too, can overcome this horrible disease. You tell things how they are, and show so many ppl how there is hope, you can change your life around. Thank you for reaching out and offering help to those who are ready to make those changes

    5:45 ... CARPET SURF -- hahaha! Every junkie has done this. I just didn't know someone came up with a rockin term for it. When I was hopelessly addicted to oxy I'd always run out and get myself stuck in withdrawals... I, too, took a flashlight to my thick carpet numerous times. Well... let me tell you... the happiness a dope sick junkie feels when he actually finds a 80mg oxy... while he's in the worst and most sick withdrawals... that euphoria is unbeatable. Winning the lottery or meeting your soul mate may be a healthier euphoria for obvious reasons, but to a down-and-out junkie that's extremely dope sick... finding the cure, another fix, is euphoria to the highest degree. It's demented, actually. That's when I knew I was a junkie, actually. I'd be gitty with happiness after finding a lost bag of dope, or a loose oxy pill, and it's a devilish type of euphoria only a junkie knows.

      I think every one of us addicts as children, when we learned about drugs we said to ourselves "I'll NEVER do that drug! Not ME!" or when you heard of women and men tricking you thought to yourself "How could somebody sell their body?! That's so disgusting!" and then when you become an addict, both those things come true! Reach out for help honey! In any way you can! Your life is WORTH SAVING! You don't have to live this way anymore! I have almost 6 years clean off of heroin and 8 years clean from cocaine! If I can do it, so can you! Everybody has their own recovery journey. I've been on suboxone several times throughout my recovery and currently am still on it. I consider myself CLEAN! Maybe try methadone or subs? It's worth a try! I wish you the best honey!

    Ooof girl I can relate. I lived in this really nice house with my "boyfriend" who was the man and his sister who was my best friend. Over time the house was filled with addicts and it became the trap house. When one person gets paranoid everyone starts getting paranoid lol. I remember one night we thought there were people in the woods surrounding the house and we all went outside and were yelling into the darkness calling "them" out...there was literally nothing there except possibly animals. I always thought someone was trying to kill me. I got addicted to meth at 15! So I have a shitload of awful stories. And no matter where I lived..whether it be my hometown of Batesville Ar (where i currently live).. Ft.smith/van buren.. Oklahoma, Colorado,California where I was born and all of my family lives..doesnt matter the location I would always find a way to get high. I'm so glad I finally found my way out and have a "normal" life. I always thought id be dead by 28 and im 29 now.

    What’s crazy is that most people have never even heard of Fort Smith, Arkansas but I have actually lived there myself but for only 8 months... THAT’S ALL I COULD TAKE!!!! AAAAAAARRRRRGGH!!!! Before I came running back to Delaware, where I am from and still live to this day. My best friend’s husband is from out there and they had moved there to be close to his family and I had nothing going for me here at the time, and the rents down there are so cheap, yada yada yada. But it was BORING AS HELL!!! Oh and ironically enough, I never did meth out there, except for once cuz I had found a teeny bit that I had stashed when I was unpacking. Yeah, I got on meth while living on the east coast where it used to be virtually impossible to find. (Not anymore, but this was almost 10 years ago.) However, my boyfriend was getting an ounce sent to our house via fedex from New Mexico every month. Then selling half of it to the same guy at his work every month and making $400 profit AND a free half ounce of tweek!!! So yeah- it didn’t turn out well. But we stopped since it didn’t take very long to reek absolute HAVOK in our lives. And then, we got hooked on heroin, go figure!!! DUMB! I’m on the clinic now and while I can’t say I’ve been 100% sober the entire year and a half since I got on methadone, I haven’t touched heroin again since July 9, 2018, while I was standing in the line to get admitted into the clinic... that’s where I did my last bag. I know I know, that many people in NA and AA don’t count people as “sober” while they’re taking methadone or suboxone, but either way, it certainly made it possible for me to stop using heroin and I believe that’s all that really matters. But wow... Fort Smith, AR.... I never heard of anyone doing H when I was out there, but many, many, MANY people were on crystal. That and pills. A whole lot of pills were getting sold there oh, and for like half the price of what they’d cost back on the east coast. Hardly anyone out there smokes crack either, but like who would when there so much damn meth around, right???
