Use the Fram for plinking, and pop a Wix on there. If you have the space, go for a tall filter - less time on bypass after startup, and at higher rpm's with the increased surface area. My setup? I went with System1, but not everyone wants to go there. Good investment: extra system capacity reduces temps just a little, plus... I no longer need to risk puking oil all over the headers when changing oil. I like that. As for mounting... know where the bypass valve is on the filter of choice. If its opposite of threaded connection filter can be mounted above adapter. Same side as threads: mount it below. Concern: 1/2" pex tubing ID is actually 0.485". That hose just seemed to go on that fitting much too easy... I sure would like to know who developed pex specifications: gottta use 1" to get similar cross section as 3/4" hard pipe for example - found that out when water line to my house needed to be replaced. Its almost as bizarre as Panzer Gauge used on some electrical cable fittings.
Thanks for the advice! From what I’ve seen pex is smaller diameter than rubber hose. This hose slipped on over the barbs with no issues but two clamps on each end worked like a dream.
Watching your videos are motivating me to work on my swap . Been working on mine all winter got it in but hit the wall with it you know the part where it fired up but you realize you got 1000 other things to wire an plumb lol . My wife just laughs when I watch your videos cause soon after I head out to the tarp shed an tinker a little more lol . Keep up the great work bud your getting at least two ls dodge swaps done at once weather you know it or not 👍
Dude that’s awesome!! I’m glad I can help 😁 I know what you mean, I’m at that exact point now and every day I’m like “I’ll have the engine running tonight” then find more stuff I have to hook up, or modify. I’m filming a new video now, where I’m putting the LS1 intake on and it’s kicking my ass so far haha
I try not to edit out any mistakes, I’m nowhere near perfect, don’t want anyone to be under the illusion that you can do this stuff without any mistakes, it’s a hard racket
You got it, I have the filter relocation kit, gonna use high pressure, high heat hose for it and mount it to the frame. I just have to drill and tap the oil pan for barbed fittings or weld them on

Keep at it buddy . An don’t worry about hiding your struggles from the camera because most of us are struggling too.
