Wow, this little Island of ours is really under threat and so corrupt. I'm so proud of all the NO voters, in spite of all the Government financing of the yes voters we prevailed. Happy Mothers Day to all the wonderful Irish Mammies, we will Never let them erase you.
I am the mother of 5 young adults and grandmother to one little person. I have always felt cherished by our wonderful constitution. I was (by choice) a stay home mother for 20 years and never once felt pressured to leave my children in order to "earn a wage". Not because I never wanted for anything materially, but because no matter how little money was coming in to my household, the children were fed because my nation's constitution said that it would take care of us. At least not while living in this country. I did however, feel pressured (in another European country) to go outside of my household many years ago. I had just given birth to my 4th child and within a few weeks had a visit from some committee or other advising me to "upskill" so that I could be a good little contributor to the tax purse. They left me a glossary of terms to learn. It was a booklet in the country's native language of cleaning phrases and terminology. An administration that wants to send new mothers out to clean other people's houses while their babies are handed to a state run crèche, is an administration that cares not a jot about the real wellbeing of mothers and children. It's an administration that has completely drifted from its moorings, and needs to be either hauled back or set adrift for good. It really seems like the current Irish administration wants to push all mothers out to generate tax revenue while the state raises our babies. Thank God Irish mothers rejected this outright and recognised the current FF FG government and ghastly NGOs like the NWCI for the abomination they are, completely disconnected from ordinary Irish people.
Sinn fein lost my vote and the morning of the referenda Mary Lou said if she got into power she would remove gendered language from the constitution and then when she say how big the loss was the next day said they won't, how is taking away from 1 group going to make the world better
Talking personally, I've never forgiven the Irish for their pitiful capitulation on the second Lisbon Treaty referendum in 2009. I hope this result is an indication that the Irish people will not be fooled again.
@@MrLeadb1 I had no idea about that. It’s news to me. But you can hardly blame me for my ignorance. There was no informative, transparent reporting on the referendum by Rte or any mainstream media.

Forgive my naivety (and possibly someone in the MSM did pose him this question and I missed it) but Varadkar said last Thurs or Weds that a “No” vote would be a setback for the country (some blather about “Yes” votes being a further step in the Liberalist direction….); so - the obvious question now for the “Dandy Gandhi” - is: Given those remarks of his - have the People of Ireland “set Ireland back” by their decision - or is it really the case that there’s now a fundamental incompatibility between the People’s vision and his vision for this country and his resignation is now in order ?”
So, my question would be, if those NGO's don't represent the people they claim to represent, then why do they exist, and who do they exist for? Scary times when governments can fund so-called organisations that supposedly "represent the people of Ireland," and they clearly don't, and then government "encourage" these organisations to actively promote government propaganda. That doesn't seem very democratic to me. And like most other people, i wasn't at all confused about what I was voting for. Well done on your coverage. Excellent podcast, I listen every week. Hopefully, in our next election, there will be an actual party that truly represents the people of Ireland, and well done to Ben and all staff at Gript media. An exhale to listen to. It was great to see the political party Aontú speak common sense and all who who campaigned for the "no" vote and voted 💪🔥🙏 hopefully the beginning of the shackles coming off 🙏
Democracy exists to convince us the plebs that we are making the decisions,eg war ... WW1,WW2,Vietnam,BombSerbia,Bomb the ME etc. It also makes it easier to tax us and print money and then charge us the taxpayers interest on the debt. Its an evil system and we have fallen for it.

We have over 34,000 ngo’s in this country. This is not a misprint. They all need to be unfunded and disbanded. Waste of money for wokey useless policies. Tiny affluent Dublin constituencies telling the rest of the us how to run our lives and what to think.
They do want us to fight Russia and/or China so you can expect the false flag and the pretend awoken normies who voted no for this saddling up and telling others to do their bit for "democracy". Just like the injections.

It's now time for a change of government. No more lies! Power to the people, they know best .
I was looking through the different constituency tallies and the ONLY constituency that had a majority yes vote was Dunlaoighre in Dublin, which takes in all the knob areas of wealthy people. Why would they vote yes
It would be interesting to see how much of the yes vote came from FF/FG ers unthinkingly following the party line. A lot of these people will also go along with whatever RTE or the Independent say, except of course when their respective parties are being criticised.
I did not like McDowell when he was part of the PD's.... I have new found respect for him because of this referendum...BUT let's see his other political/social policies before making a decision on him being president of Ireland...
It makes me wonder how in the run up; everyone interviewed by mainstream media sources, voiced a yes. So how are they vetting the people they choose to interview on air? No bias in media?
Also maybe it’s about time this government actually help women have the option of being at home too starting with the unequal tax system. First thing they need to do is make the tax brackets of couples equal, right now two working parents are not taxed at the higher rate until 75 grand while struggling couples with a stay at home parent only get up to 45 grand before reaching the higher bracket threshold, and getting screwed on tax after that amount, changing that to 75 grand would help mothers be able to stay at home. And it would also be equal and fair to couples that both work. Maybe considering the referendum results they should increase the threshold to be even higher for couples with a stay at home parent as standard anyway in order to comply with “endeavouring to ensure” mothers aren’t forced out into the rat race if they don’t want to.
Congratulations on your 3 Mother's Day gifts, Ireland. 2 no votes and the gift of seeing which politicians stood with you and which stood against you on that crucial day.
There is real visceral anger not so much on these referenda but in general with the capture of Gov by WEF/ UN /EU and WHO .That in fact we the voters have no say in open borders.mass imigration/what is being taught in our schools and the pushing of issues re tiny minorities at the expense of the essence of what it means to have a distinct country and identity. That the boot of the oppressor from outside has been replaced with the boot of the oppressor from within who only answer to outside forces !!! That if we open our mouth going forward we could end up in prison. Those in the Dail and media had better realize that the game is changing and they had better change and come back to the people or suffer the consequences.
