His bias is clearly leaning among the financial institutions now… which is very short term. If an average investor comes in and listens to Kevin, they would think that Tesla at these prices is a bad investment.
Except he keeps saying buy TSLA and it's been 4 years and the price is back to even. Only looking worse as other car companies that actually know how to make cars roll out competition

I'm a Tesla bull but to put things in perspective - In reality, nothing has changed (same financial/production/demand problems as before). But in the hopium world, things have changed - the main issue being the accelerating of the future production timeline of Tesla's cheaper car(s)... with a changed caveat - instead of pulling this off with new Gigafactories, they'll retool existing factories. Which calls to question - no brand new models, but instead just tweaked existing models with lower COGS ? It's all exciting, but nothing will change unless Musk can execute all this hopium "on time" (that's always been an achilles heel). And the execution of all his other hopes stated in the earnings call. The talkin' was done - now ya gotta walk the walk. That's what the investors truly want to see before a s*-ton of money piles back into Tesla stock
Struggling with 2nd hand, accelerating cheaper vehicles. I'd rather a low mileage model 3 , older model s than a new model 2.

Always like your insight. I choose to hold my Tesla to stick to my long term bullishness. But your honesty and clarity helps me rationalize what Tesla is going through. This helps me shrug it off and keep my focus on the horizon.

I know many people call you a bear or other names but IMO you try to be as neutral als possible.
One Point on Dojo and 4680.
Dojo is around 12-25% of their compute which they call H100 equivalent, which is relatively good for a first gen product.
4680s are not ramping like intended but they produce enough for the Cybertruck.
Because of competition canceling orders of batteries, the prices are so cheap right now (56$ or so per kWh) that the investment in their own cells is not longer so important than before.

But the reality is loss of price control, loss of quality control, softening demand, and poor financial performance. Everything else is just noise

If everything so cleared, then today shall be NVDA market cap already. The downside is small while the upside is huge, this is the investing principle.
I’ve been a big Tesla fanboy for a long time. I finally tried FSD on my model Y after hearing how amazing it is. I live in a suburb and the places I’ve gone have not been overly complicated and I was so underwhelmed that I actually turned it off as it was actually a downgrade from regular Autopilot. I like it the most on the freeway but I can’t stand that it slows to 50mph in a 70mph zone before it exits the freeway. Cutting turns very close and going over the line, lack of blinkering in certain situations, just some weird things that showed me it isn’t ready for prime time yet. I expect it will get there but the reality isn’t soon. I believe it is safe but it also drives like a bad new driver and will piss off the other cars on the road.
Thanks for your objectivity. I feel the same, FSD still has a long way to go. There is still uncertainty. I am going to sit on the fence for a while. Patience has always rewarded me.
Patience is time in the market not timing the market.
On a separate note - in my opinion, Kevin has one of the best "balanced" approaches when talking about Tesla and the stock. Does not go unnoticed

I'm still excited about energy. Taneja said energy deployment will grow at least 75% over 2023. I think energy has a chance to reach $10 billion revenue this year. Then $15b for 2025 and $20b for 2026. 25-30% margin.

WS got a hopium dose sold. The realization will come back. The hodge-podge of integrating low cost platform on the existing lines will affect production. It is likely that during this demand slump, that is a good thing to execute. But oh, the "growth" in 2024 is gone. A lot of real pain is coming.

The reason why you're wrong and why there isn't any time left to buy is, that they will do someting completely unexpected and start the ride-hailing network with SUPERVISING drivers (they already showed the mockups plus it's exactly what they will launch in August). And then, if this happens, demand and margins go through the roof immediately because everyone who wants to participate has to buy a new Tesla with fsd!

To be honest, everyone invest in Tesla should be invest in the uncertainty, if success or failure is certain, the stock price would be way higher or lower, and there's really no point in investing. We invest to believe in it's future, even if I loose all the money, it's okay. But to anyone that's just here gambling and looking for short flips, at least the stock fullfilled your gamling addiction, right?

If the purchasing of EVs is waning and reducing prices to make sales, and can't charge batteries below a certain Fahrenheit degrees, and charging stations do not function at all, Telsa is going to have a tough row to hoe in the next 10 to 18 months. But continue to roll the dice. I believe there is Big Trouble in River City for EVs in the near term.
