The only time Gallica annoys me is when you are in a extreme weather condition on the map and everytime you hit the enemy weakness she says "WHAT? BUT I THOUGHT YOU HIT ITS WEAKNESS" and goddamit that gets annoying very fast. Other than that i love that little fairy.
Am I the only one who got a bug where Gallica would *constantly* say I was being affected by a status ailment, even though no one in my party was afflicted?
I mean, is there really any shipping wars with metaphor? Like eupha is canon and there’s pretty much no debating that. Will says he feel the same way and to be with her forever. And her brother gives you the duty of watching over her. It’s like what’s there to war over?
People will go down with their ships no matter how much evidence/ confermation you give. Just look at My Hero Academia for example, and the absolute awful behavior of the bakudeku weirdos.
junah and cath also showed interest in will though. and the whole mess started because of the lack of heirs. so i`d say, do it for the bloodline will! but yeah eupha is showing airheaded school girl lvl of interest. the kind that she think she is hiding it well but everyone but the love interest knows.
2:25 Thing is, again, the Mage Academy is shutdown and is destroyed. And with the fact that the next is focus on preparing to fight Louis again. At most, this would just be another forest Dungeon. 2:50 but I feel we have gotten plenty of context, especially with endgame reveals in mind that Akademia and the Mage Academy are one and the same. 4:20 Gallica is really far from annoying. And besides, just because Gallica is talking doesn’t mean it’s at you. Gallica is talking to the characters in battle.
DLC will definitely be a post game thing. I wish they went full tilt on the Eupha romance like in tales of arise. (I am a sucker for romance) YOU CAN BUILD A SNOWMAN!!! The biggest change from persona is how important using the abilities is. In P5 you could beat most of the game without using anything other than basic attacks.
I see Hulkenberg and Junah as two halves of the “big sis” trope. Hulkenberg is the matronly protector, Junah is the friend and mentor in socializing. It’s perfectly in-character that they’d be shipping their captain and Eupha by the epilogue (especially Junah).
I don’t think the game is difficult in an interesting way. First playthrough I chose hard mode and I thought the enemies getting an extra press turn was so cool. through the first dungeon it feels very impactful. starting encounters with disadvantage or getting a weakness struck usually meant game over, which is good because usually a mistake was made. but enemy press turns in the late game get EXTREMELY bloated. The 3 dragons and super boss, and true Louis were only difficult because they were doubling your press turns. This is less interesting than the prior press turn games because the enemies used their turns more effectively. SMT III Lucifer had strong unique skills which took multiple press turns to recover from, or a specific tool to only burn a single press turn. i.e High King does high all target damage with nerve chance, causing you to patra/mediarahan or to use prayer with daisojou. This creates a more dynamic action economy, that feels more fair rather than the enemy phase being a cutscene. The counterplay to the press turn bloat is either using tetrakarn/makarakan or using heismay’s royal thief which centralizes the gameplay way too much.
i also HATE royal archetypes. i really dislike how there are only royal archetypes of the playable party members and each member is limited to their respective archetype. this limits the game in a complete contrast to how the rest of the game was played. Martial artist hulkenberg? summoner junah? nah son you better play the game atlus wants you to play, can’t get too creative because the royal archetypes are just better barring some specific niches
@@tahmwithanh118 honestly royal stuff should have been a set of skills that transfer across archetypes for each character. I really enjoyed mixing and matching my party but the royal archetypes are p much BIS outside of a couple (cough cough Tycoon) By the time you get the third tier archetype royal archetypes are already available, and many third tier archetypes are pretty dogshit. Martial Artist is a big example of this, because its main draw (HP over mana) is barely relevant by the time you get it since mana is so plentiful and you also have access to the Berserker line which is much better as a strike archetype. Similarly, the mage archetype was similarly not as good because you get Prince at the same time and at that point of the game physical builds are just a lot stronger. It isn't as bad as Martial Artist because you can thankfully build a pretty strong magic party with Masked Dancer and Summoner, but even then Masked Dancer is even better in physical parties due to team wide Charge (which can even be a single press turn due to Utilitarian's Manual). Royal Archetypes just take away what was really interesting about the game in party building.
Yeah there should have been a royal archetype for every archetype lineage with no restriction who can use it. That way even weird choices could lead to awesome endgame builds...
as for the press turn system in general, its how alot of smt feels fight a thing, and either kill it, or get your ass clapped and build an entire team to just ANIHALITE the thing that rekt you.
Was the ice dragon hard? I lost the first time, but the second time I just used the magic knight archtype to cast magic reflect on everyone every turn and it went pretty easy.
I want to talk a sec about the ice dragon boss fight the fight is harder or easier depending on what team you arrive with i had 1 warror, think samurai at that point, and 3 wizards the boss wasnt strong enough to kill me but since only my warrior could HIT THE DANG THING the fight took a while WOULD i have died, i would have modified my team to counter the thing, i just didnt die. on that note phase 2 got ABSOLUTELY COOKED because BOY 3 wizards cook that thing alive.
First; I love the game, I wouldn't necessarily want any changes to it. However if i wanted something in addition it would be; More choices who actually matters and alters the course of the game, simply because of replayability. Story is already a 10/10 for me but i wouldn't mind some really game altering choices... or perhaps even NG+ only content with some significance. WARNING MASSIVE SPOILERS: Would for example be fun if you could alter the fate of for example Rella. Just imagine arriving at the magic academy in NG+ and you are able to convince Rella of another way to solve the prince's curse because of some additional NG+ content, so she instead joins the team and we explore the mage academy in search of a alternative solution. Ofc. everything past this point in the game would also have to change, Rella could still concede her support to the MC and make him the 2nd place holder and considering she's now alive there would be more of a reason to explore wth. is going on in the Sanctis church post those events, since that is the only plot hole i honestly feel unsatisfied with... it would perhaps also fill out the final Month a bit, especially if it was NG+ content, I remember even in my first play trough i went to bed like two weeks just to get the time going.
My only big complaint so far is the OST isn't as good as SMT:SJ's while having a similar style, and it's not even bad. Other wise it's been around 8/10 for me.
According to the interviews, assuming I’m remembering right, Katsura Hashino asked Shoji Meguro to get out of his comfort zone with his OST for this game. Maybe that could be part of it. It’s not the songs themselves that bothered me, it was more of the lack of variety.
I heard SJ's before and the OST there sucks. I genuinely cannot make a difference between SJ's normal boss theme and the Shekinah theme. Metaphor's OST is a lot more recognizable.
@@TheJaredPunch That's a good way to put it, a lack of variety. I personally describe it for me as "this does not put me in a fantasy, but it does fit the artwork."
Dungeon design not being Atlus strong suits is real. Especially after nocturne. Nocturne dungeons are good but some puzzles are straight up BS. Mainly Amala Red temple Amala 4th Kapla Hell's vault and one section in the divine tower that I just couldn't do. I found metaphor's dungeons fine. I really tried not to overlevel and get insanely strong so I ran from everything unless I could one tap it
Oh hey, my comment made it here lol. I think I'm just over the Persona calendar system. I didn't like it in Persona 3 Reload either. I wanted to get side quests done and then trigger the next thing without needing to go through multiple days. What added to it is the game needs to load every single time you progress time. It just added a lot of wasted time.
No retainer of lawyers could defend this game. The most over-hyped title of 2024 was undoubtedly one of the most tedious and annoying games I’ve ever played.
@@chillswany and this game is short compare to p3r p4g and p5r, that 3 are very long and getting burnout for over 100+ gameplay with almost 10 month time limit this one can beat it in less than 80 hours due the storyline only 4 months time limit

I genuinely don’t remember that at all. I must’ve just completely tuned her out during battles.

Couldn’t romance Louise. 0/10. One Star.
TRUE
Couldn't romance Grius*💔
It did feel like the mage academy was dropped last second. That and give me a better mp fix for dungeons.
I wish as you upgraded the mage archetype it would passively generate more and more MP on stun and kill

Galica was not annoying for me until the "The PuPpETs arE ABoUt tO bE EaTEN" line, it drove me insane cosidering it was such a long fight.
Waiting for that Cathrina DLC. We will see
Game will be a 10/10 when they add a wedding DLC with Eupha
