- The Honk if Parts Fall Off Chevy Malibu shows us how to pull off the ratchet sleeper look, but in a very nicely built drag car! You’ve seen this classic 1967 Chevrolet Malibu on our channel before as the “Turbo Mailbu - 8 Second SLEEPER!”, and it’s back with a bigger turbo and even more character! Still holding true to it’s sleeper appeal, Rick and his family have taken this old chevy sedan and made it into one hell of a ride! Rocking most of the factory interior and a rusty patina exterior, You’d almost expect parts to be falling off this thing left and right! While Rick ran into some parts that failed, we don’t think any parts actually fell off the car, but people still gave them honks and thumbs up along the 1,000 mile journey of Drag Week! Rick and his family were some of the most positive people on Drag Week, every time we saw them they were surrounded by smiles and laugher which is why Rick brought his wife along, so she could experience the incredible atmosphere herself. We hope you can appreciate the team of “Honk if Parts Fall Off”, because they really display the kind of environment Drag Week really is and why we love it so much!

Last year I rebuilt my 727 3 times, then got another off Craigslist and had to rebuild that twice in the week, but I’d do it all over again

Tyler 616 I just meant that it wasn't featured during the event. I know there's a ton of footage and it's hard to sort through, maybe I spoke out of ignorance. Just seemed like a good video to put in the main content was all I meant.
@611Renegade We absolutely agree. Unfortunately that time of the year is one of the busiest times for us and even great features like this get pushed back sometimes. We made sure we didn’t forget about it!

I'm pretty sure I saw this car for sale a few years ago. It was a 67 4 door, flat black with the blue showing underneath. It was all stock at the time tho. Probably before this guy bought it

Those wheels look just like The Vagabond Falcon's.
On some forum he put up pics showing that the wheels on the Malibu are actually painted Weld Draglite with an adapter to mount the dog dishes. 😎

Take that silly ratchet shifter out and column shift it! Sweet ride.
Monte Stu he has to have a NHRA legal shifter with reverse lockout....
Robert Burchett - The way the rules read to me is that if you have a non-OEM shifter it has to have a positive reverse lockout. However if you keep the OEM column shifter, you would be fine. It also has a spring loaded reverse lockout and neutral safety switch.
A sleeper with a parachute...makes sense..

Because they did.
Old car with a worm gear steering box (they usually have a bit extra 'play' in the middle = straight ahead) and perhaps a so-so joint somewhere on top of that = wobble.

Of course. We included a small few clips in our event highlight videos because the hotel room shop story had us laughing pretty good. These are some great people with an awesome story and one heck of a positive attitude. They deserved a full feature on the monster Malibu without a doubt!
