    It takes like 1 year from applying to actually going to basic training, what a joke. If you want to solve the recruitment shortage then fix the admin side its laughable

    I wanted to go in as a Nursing Officer only to fail the medical because i had kidney stones 15 years ealier. The reason they underlined was i would be a liability on the battlefield but excuse me, isnt people with HIV (who can now join) more of a liablility? I think the standards are ridiculous and when i asked my local MP about it, he didnt want to know!

    Why would you join the army ? The British goverment middle and upper classes despise us, we are hooligans and rascist fruit cake loons, until they want to start a war with somebody why would I want to fight in UK/USA manufactured wars to launder taxpayer money ?
    Russia and China are not my enemies, my enemies are the British, USA and Israeli goverments.
    Are you a MOD shrill ? You never mentioned all the Ex service people that sleep on the streets when illegals are put up in free hotels, your having a laugh bruv, the only army I'd be happy to join would be a peoples army to fight the political and establishment classes that have pissed over us in this country for years and years, and no, I am not a lefty.

    • @davidcross8028
      @davidcross8028 3 месяца назад

      I agree entirely mate; let those illegals fight for it - if they would, which I doubt. But the question that needs asking is if people like us, the ordinary citizens, were to fight the establishment, and the establishment called out the army to defend them, would the soldiers fight their own people.?

    • @hanwachtel
      @hanwachtel 3 месяца назад

      @@merg-vh5sx There should be information about this (including whom/where to ask questions of) on the British Army's website. There will be particular trades that are more in demand than others (thus a faster enlistment). I have a brother in law and a cousin in law who joined the RN from the Coastguard (Trinidad & Tobago). When you get in, make a point of finding out about how and when to apply for Naturalization, which is usually after being in for five years. If citizenship is not obtained by the time one finishes their contract in the military, they have to return to their own country (which is damned ungrateful, IMO).

    The amount of people I have seen properly done up there single accommodation is insane. One of the lads I know made his room into a literal jungle (exotic plants and also a cool fish tank). Dirt cheap with electric covered. He had that many LED strips I'd be worried if an epileptic went in.

    Great video. I'm looking into joining the regs, after what feels like, wasting my time in reserves. Basically a lack of opportunities. We're only training just to tick boxes to make bounty for each April. I have to say, I don't like the fact that I have to redo the application and selection centre again. I accept that I will have to do the regs phase 1 training, but I don't agree having to reapply all over again. Anyway, I've put Royal Artillery down for my first option. I'm interested in doing either UAS or AS90. I've also got Army Air Corps as my second pick. From the information I can find, their ground crew has some nice trades within their role.

    • @CombatReadyHQ
      @CombatReadyHQ  8 месяцев назад

      I will look to do some more videos on trades but best of luck, hope all goes well and keep me posted. It is a shame that you can’t just transfer to regulars as I thought you could, I would do some more digging if I was you, maybe try speak to RCMO at a regiment you are looking to join and see if they can speed up the process.

    • @Liam1991
      @Liam1991 8 месяцев назад

      I appreciate that. I'm a bit unsure which regiment to go for. I like the fact most of the regiments are in Larkhill. Nearer to home. Yh, I finally decided to email the PSAO last November, after putting it off for a few months. I was still hoping to get a deployment by then. Not hearing anything back from Op Interflex, gave me the push to look into the regs. Basically, the PSAO and REMSO said due to me not being in the reserves for long, I will need to start a new application. And I have to be discharged beforehand. Because apparently I can't have 2 contracts going at the same time. I phoned the careers office about this, and they said to make a new application and go from there. I'm currently waiting for my GP to square away my medical, then I've got selection after that. The recruitment team doesn't seem to mind that I'm still currently in the reserves.
