Problem is 99% of gastro doctors don't know anything about sibo. I had to see a functional doctor and I'm still extremely high on my methane sibo and feel extremely ill
I hear ya, I’ve gone to a gastro doctor twice, explained my symptoms they prescribed me some “anti diarrhea “ medicine that don’t help, I still take Imodium, they tell me to take in more fiber bulk up my stool,, nope still watery and loose, did a colonoscopy a couple months ago said I have IBS Ok now what. I have cut out most of my sugar, it’s so hard, and I cheat a bit I’m feeling tired all time and working nights don’t help. I’m at my wits end. I’m tired of going to Doctors who just don’t listen. I pretty much stay home afraid of accidents..
I had sibo for over 15 years it was horrible, I had a bunch of vitamins deficiency, IBS, chronic diarrhea, bloating/burping. I tried every diet and some helped but it wasn’t fixing the root cause. I finally heard about raising your natural stomach acid to wipe out bad bacteria in your small intestine but not your large and it finally got rid of my sibo, I raised mine by supplementing with Betaine HCL, I just took 2 before a large meal or 1 before a small meal and within a week a saw major improvements and after 3-4 weeks all the symptoms completely went away, it’s a really small sacrifice to pay for permanent results, but again my sibo was caused by low stomach acid so if that isn’t your root cause this won’t work for you.
I feel like I have sibo. I have all the symptoms but I’m waiting for my doctor to actually test me for it. I did take oregano and ginger supplements and with in two weeks my gut felt a lot better. However I still have the same poops as I did when this whole thing started a few months ago. It varies some days it’ll be normal others I go back to oily loose stool. I can’t wait to get this whole thing under control. Thanks for your videos. They make the anxiety portion of this whole thing go away.
@@cookingwithatif6781 A little better every day! Normal 💩, and feel good. I did add 2 more things into my protocol. ( I alternate with original product) Mega IgG2000, and Fodmate enzymes. WOW. Highly recommend.
I have chronic sibo it sucks. My gi dr told me “its not a big deal most people have it” she origionally prescribbed xifraxan but @ $2000 my insurrance said no and cvs would not accept that much cash. Wtf
Very informative and well done. This is a serious and complex condition, with many similar symptoms to other conditions. This makes diagnosing a little more difficult, although they have specific tests now. My fsther has a diagnosed case of SIBO that he has been unable to keep under control and it really is limiting his quality of life. He’s 75 years old and is very desperate to find a way to control or cure it. Could you possibly answer a few questions or can I email them to you, for privacy reasons?
What determines whether the Drs. will do the breath test vs. an endoscopy? Wouldn't it be simpler and less invasive to do the breath test first? Yet the majority of doctors immediately want to do the endoscopy.
It's because SIBO is still poorly understood by most family Dr's and most of them (like mine) will refuse to test for it unless you have very specific co-morbidities. Plus if you have serious GI symptoms they want to quickly rule out things like cancer, diverticulitis and crohns because waiting around for months with something like that could be dangerous and even fatal.
@@Fullpop007that's not true. An upper endoscopy with small-bowel aspiration and culture is generally considered the best way to diagnose SIBO. A sample of intestinal fluid is withdrawn and sent to a lab to test for bacterial growth. With false comments like yours, you should change your name to FulloPoop007.
A pathogenic overgrowth of h. pylori can lead to SIBO by disrupting digestion in the stomach. When digestion is disrupted in the stomach, it sets you up for poor digestion down stream in the small intestines. Clearing h. pylori can be an important step in keeping SIBO away for good.
I have SIBO. Had it several times. I have several things that would cause this condition. I also had the breath test. This time, I got to the point of malnourished. I'm on a picc line with a nutritional drip. I've also done the fodmap. Nothing really helps me for a long period of time.
Ive got crohns 35 M bang on weight and active healthy, got an umbilical hernia and now have this on top of everything, glad the Dr found it tho as mentally i was fading fast and no i can maybe get back in the gym after 3 months of feeling meh 😂
How do you get a doctor to even listen to you? I have had problems all of my life starting when I was a baby. My mother had problems, my grandmother had 4 feet of her intestines' removed by exploratory surgery, and my son was recently diagnosed with IBS which was exactly the symptoms that my mother suffered from. I have more of my grandmothers symptoms. My father had problems as well and early on like my father I learned I have to stay away form all corn, and corn products. Yet I will go into a doctor, I will explain my symptoms, and family history, give them the medical documentation that I have, and I get a prescription for Zoloft which doesn't do a dam thing. I know that I have a esophageal spasm, indigestion, and I will be very bloated by the end of the day. I also know that I do have a narrowing in my small intestines which should cause no problems at all. When I was 8, I was diagnosed with an ulcer, a bad ulcer. The doctor was shocked because the type of ulcer I had was common in 30 year old men in stressful jobs. When I was 16 I was hospitalized because of major gas. Doctors thought my stomach was going to explode. Sever constipation all of my life and using frequent laxatives and enemas at a very young age, yet the doctors tell me it is an emotional issue not a physical issue. I go on a low carb diet and it is so helpful, just takes the debilitating problem away. So is the a physical problem, or a dietary problem because I have yet to find a doctor to diagnose me in my 50 years of life!
Yes, I had both, lymphoma and chemo and my functional dr said I probably have Sibo, it fits all the symptoms I’ve had and eating a Sibo friendly diet gave me the first relief I’ve had in years.

Diet. Carnivore or elemental. Starting with Keto, but without fiber - avoid fiber like in green salad leaves or raw vegetables, have eggs, fish, meat and grilled or cooked not starchy vegetables. And take electrolytes to support the adaptation at least 2 weeks before you start - Calium, Magnesium (you need a combination of various forms, not Magnesium Oxide alone, it won't bring anything), and Salt. You can get your macros with any macros calculator. Research during the 2 weeks with electrolytes adaptation phase. After Keto I'd go on carnivore for 90 days and then reintroduce foods one after another to find out which you can tolerate. You'll also have to figure out if you are intolerant to some meats or egg whites during this journey. The best elimination diet is strict Carnivore - the lion diet. I can't do very high fat - I get bloated also on fat, but you need at least high fat to thrive and feel satisfied. It feels so good to not bloat at last!
@ pls don't give up 🙏 No one knows how we get all this pain, but we are the ones who can end it. What did functional doc prescribed?
Fasting and meal spacing makes me feel SO much better!! Along with digestive enzymes with meals 😍
UniEnzyme ?

do you take a digestive enzyme with every single meal?
Never heard of this. Once again I want to thank you for educating those of us who have chronic GI issues.
Order the Trio-smart breath test. Tests for the 3 gases that are present if it's SIBO. You can order it yourself!
Sound effects are annoying
so would a low carb and low fodmap diet be a good place to start while we wait months to see a GI doctor?
YES. And find a prokinetic, for motility. Gotta keep things moving out of your small intestine.
Try to avoid foods that are fermented also and foods that ferment like beans and sauerkraut

Endoscopy does not determine sibo, only breath test does and make sure its both methane and hydrogin test.

Make an appointment with a functional medicine doctor.
