      @@alexb7641 they should have made a raging circuit judge rifle years ago but they just haven't. Probably because of the forward cylinder lock but they still could have figured something out

      If this sells well, they might end up making a Raging Judge version of it. They want to test the waters with the base model first and see if it's even worth manufacturing. I suspect this will find more buyers than the Circuit Judge.

    I have a "house" shotgun with a laser, also a pistol dedicated for the same purpose, but it has a light. The light is my preference. Sure, the laser gives you an POI reference, but in the dark, you need a light. A light/laser combo may be the best option. Out in the country where there is little to no ambient light, that little red or green dot doesn't help in target identification. You will need a light, either on the weapon or in the hand.

    • @stevend474
      @stevend474 Год назад

      I got a flashlight that can adjust the beam width. Depending on the load the spread of the flash light almost covers the spread of the shot gun. Works great for indoor use.

      I have a home defense shotgun with a light/laser combo and a full size home defense pistol with a light so target identification is possible. Both are very close POI at the “hot” center spot of the light.

    I'm more impressed with Federals handgun buckshot out of the 2.5 barrel than the Judge itself. Five 9mm diameter projectiles have a 6 inch spread at 25 yards. That's a firing squad every trigger pull. 18 inches in gel too. Out of this thing, you're probably getting another 200fps and an even tighter spread.

    Or you can just run a regular old 12 gauge pump shotgun like a Mossberg 500 /590 or even the 88 with an adapter and run Minnie shells for higher capacity easier to find ammunition with more options available and you get a buttstock 🤷‍♂️

      I had a similar though.
      In addition, the Mossberg Shockwave is available at .410 Bore, and its significantly cheaper. I can understand the attraction of the Judge Revolvers (I don't own one, but I recently got a SW Governor), but one is different. This will definitely attract people already into the Judge label, but this looks like it is attempting to fill a role that is already filled by the Shockwave, the Remington Tac - 13 and 14, and various other firearms who have an established records, and are doing it cheaper. As for the capacity to fire 45 Colt. Is there really a serious demand for this?

    Lose the red dot sight. In most situations, it will just slow you down. If you can't hit a man size target at typical home defense ranges without using sights of any kind, you need to spend more time at the range. And the number one attribute of any self-defense firearm is reliability. Putting electronic gadgets on a gun simply provides another point of failure. When I took my CCW class years back, our instructor was a big fan of lasers. When we went to the range, he demonstrated the effectiveness of the laser on his own pistol. He drew his firearm, pointed it down range and ... nothing. No laser. He started fiddling with it, trying to get it to come on. Until someone in the group said, "forget it, the bad guy has already stabbed you 18 times".

    I think Taurus DIDN'T go far enough, 'out of the box', with this one. I'm calling it's intended purpose a home defense gun, or truck gun. It's a great start, though.
    First of all, size isn't that much of a factor, so why not put a GIANT CYLINDER on it, with like 10 rounds or more? The barrel could easily fire from the bottom of the cylinder (if necessary), then have a laser site on top of the barrel... maybe a flashlight under the barrel.
    And the last thing is how does buckshot spread out, from this thing at home defense distances? I guess you'd want something like a 6" circle at 25 feet? (not sure what's ideal)

    • @hxhdfjifzirstc894
      @hxhdfjifzirstc894 Год назад +2

      What are the things that make an 'ideal' home defense gun?
      1. Never jamming (revolver)
      2. Quieter is better (subsonic/suppressed)
      3. Shot 'spread' at shorter range
      4. Laser sights or holosights (both eyes open)
      5. Decent capacity (can't predict home invasions)
      6. Normal to low recoil
      7. Flashlight
      8. ?
      I think Taurus got a few things... why not go for one gun to rule them all?

Gauge for a .410 bore would be 67.5 gauge while some Europeans and their shotguns incorrectly refer to it as 36 gauge. Cylinder bore? It can also shoot .45 Colt so it should have some rifling even if its shallow. Thanks for mentioning and showing the .45 Colt since most reviewers only mention and show .410 shotshells.

      I don't see any good reason, to NOT have a giant cylinder on this thing. It's not going in anybody's pocket, so no need to limit to 5 rounds... IMO they screwed up on that point.

    Pretty cool idea even if I think the Judge, in general, is crap much like everything that comes from Taurus. The longer barreled models do seem to make more sense.

      All Taurus Judges come with a rifled barrel.

      The Taurus is rifled but it's shallower than typical, my guess is so that it doesn't effect the wade coming out of a shotgun shell but still has something for that 45 long colt

      @@justinmellem8964 Federal handgun buckshot has a 6 inch spread at 25 yards out of a 2.5 inch barrel. This is a 13 inch barrel so I'm guessing 40 yards you could have a fairly tight spread.

    They would have been better off using😊 45 ACP because it's cheaper and higher velocity easier to get
