Great gun. Seeing this gun makes me wonder why they don't make more modern top break revolvers? It looks like it was firing decently powerful rounds just fine.

I have no use for this, but if I walked into a gun shop and saw it, I would buy it
Buy two and you have a set of dueling pistols
That's the best comment I ever heard about single shot pistols. Might have to get a pair and make a fancy box with a clever saying inscribed on it , just to watch people's reaction. 😂😅😂😅😊😊
I was just thinking this would be a perfect dueling pistol.
@@todddavis2683 When you buy one let’s try it out. 🤣
Man those would looook so good if rossi made then in stainless
@@Sephiroth391 Need a walnut furniture option too
In the past I used a single shot 410 as a boat gun because of it's simplicity and safe operation. #8 shot in was for snakes, 000 buck for gators and sharks. It was super handy at times. This pistol is clearly more handy for these point blank to 4 foot shots. Plus it looks like a hoot to shoot!
converted an hk military flare pistol into a single shot 410 / 45 LC, it can still fire 26.5 mm air burst or parachute flares, or smoke grenades
Super excited. An affordable single shot hasn't been available for many, many moons.
I started all my nieces and nephews on Rossi single shot combo rifles.22/.410 and .243. This style gun can do a lot of different things (maybe not this one specifically)but the Rossi single shots have been good to me.
I agree with the ones you've mentioned. There good guns.
But thats not the same animal that we are talking about here. The gun here has way to long of a chamber for a 45 colt
And way to big of barrel + rifling to use the 410 shot shell well.
Its nothing but a loophole sorta gun to get around stupid gun laws that should have never been allowed to happen in the first place
As much as this seems like the starting weapon from some fallout game. at $230 MSRP, it's a competent entry into a hunting handgun. I think it would be neat if they offered other barrels for it. Something like this, that also had a .22LR barrel, or a .357 barrel would be neat.
At that price this is a pointless. It's a novelty gun.. why waste the money. If you are looking for something fun.. maybe.. but a Judge is going to be way more fun.
If you are looking for a single shit hunting pistol. Why not buy a used TV contender. Way more barrel options and a solid gun that was around for decades.
This seems like a novelty gun that you buy and maybe pickup once or twice. Save the 200 bucks and upgrade something else you will use.. or save and buy something infinitely better.
@@jamespetkwitz8737 because tc contenders are near unobtanium. people are selling bare frames on gunbroker for $600-650. if you want complete $1000+. TC is out of business currently, at the least they havent been making the single shots. I wanted one myself for a custom build, but man you better really want it.
@@jamespetkwitz8737 I used to have a Thompson Contender with a few different barrels, including .22LR and 7TCU. It was a real kick in the pants and a lot of fun to shoot. TBH, the .45Colt/.410 SG is a happenstance cartridge combination that's otherwise completely pointless. The novelty is a .410 pistol.
That would be nice
Yeah the Thompson contender was just that, a modular single shot with barrels from 22lr up to .45-70 and .30-06
I have to say you are one of the best narrators and video testing you tube videos I have ever seen. I have been shooting 54 years and own a TC in 45Colt/410 and other barrels . I do need to get out and so some real testing. Thankyou and Rossi once againe has come through with an affordable single shot hunting pistol that will appeal to many , good boat gun farm gun on the tractor and overall just a good product . Thankyou so much for your expertise and fair evaluation.
I used to own a Rossi Matched Pair Pistol that could shoot 45/410 with a second barrel you could swap out that was chambered for .22 lr. It was a decent snake-killer and the .22 barrel was also good, but the accuracy on the 45 LC simply wasn't there. People say it's because the rifling was too far ahead of the 45 LC in the chamber, but I've never had a problem with accuracy out of my Raging Judge Magnum. I have to say that the accuracy out of the Winchester ammo seemed pretty good and I like the ejection. Those are definitely good upgrades from what I owned in the past. Now if Rossi ever went full "Thompson Center" here and offered replacement barrels in various calibers, sales might really blow up (pun not intended) with the handgun hunter crowd! Considering today's level of inflation, $230 isn't a bad price point at all for this kind of gun.
WHAT?!? 😱YES!!!
I NEED ONE!!! I remember their old Matched Pair Set, with a 410/45 barrel and a 22lr barrel. This looks much nicer IMO, cleaner cuts, more appealing shape.
It's like a new take on the old Super Camachee, (doesn't look quite as cool as the Super Camachee with it's 1873 SAA style grips, but still pretty sweet 👍)
Thanks for sharing it y'all.
It patterned better than I expected. Generally rifled .410 pistols throw erratic patterns but this one did well enough that I'd consider it for small game or venomous snakes.
Thanks for making this video
Nice conversation piece.
Awesome review 👍👍👍👍👍
Amazing review by the way guys. Bravo
Brazilian "pistolão" going to USA. Brazil had this concept, "pistolão". Until the 80's revolvers are very expensive guns for the poor people. Belgian Double Barrel (we call them "garrucha" or Hare ears) pistols in .22, .320 or .380 are the pocket carry option. The "pistolão" are the powerful Option
On the ejection/extraction, some of the European ammo uses a slightly dirtier powder, so residue coming back into the chamber could be causing the sticking. As he fired the .45 LC round the first 2 "Stuck" while the third ejected cleanly. So the stuck cases were cleaning up the residue left in the chamber.
The first 45lc's that didn't eject were from Ammo Inc. USA made. I had a round in my Sig 5.56 from Ammo inc that ruptured. Blew the magazine completely apart. Luckily I was not injured. Inspected the rest of the rounds and there were imperfections in the brass casing that may have been the cause.
@@anthonyrichard461 The shells prior to the .45LC were the European shotshells, which may have slightly dirtier powder. Bloke on the Range and Chap have mentioned some increased fouling a few times. The Ammo Inc ammo may be overloaded, I don't know. But it also MAY, MAY be because of the powder used in the import shotshells.
Since the third .45 LC ejected properly, which was why I posited there may have been residue in the chamber causing the original extraction/ejection issues.
On the 5.56 you had, did it damage your rifle, other than blowing the mag apart?
@@greylocke100 Yep, I picked up on the Euro shotgun shells being shot prior to the Ammon Inc 45LC's being shot. Hard to say what caused what? I know I have experienced very crappy ammo fouling up guns prematurely. Worst was some 300 Blackout ammo I shot out of an AR with a 10 inch barrel. Gun started jamming and wouldn't go into battery after about 25-30 rounds. Completely full of unburnt pellets of powder in the cartridge chamber and BCG. I think the manufacture used the wrong powder on these loads. 300 BLK and short barreled guns require pistol cartridge powder to burn more quickly. On my Sig 556 after the cartridge failure I have only shot 1 20 round magazine. I will be honest I'm a little gun shy, no pun intended to shoot it any time soon. Good Day
@@anthonyrichard461 Stay Safe Sir.
@@anthonyrichard461I’ve had similar issues with case heads rupturing and case mouths cracking with ammo inc garbage. I think it’s poor quality cases…not being over charged.
A double barrel version would be awesome. Like a howdah.
Over under 🤠💥💥
Even better, quad barrel .410
@@GeminoSmothers isn’t the OG howdah a quad barrel
If you can find them, Cobray from Ducktown Tennessee made a side by side .45/.410 with 11" bbls. Had a selector on the hammer to select the bbl you were shooting. Also made a short bbl side by side and a short bbl over/under slab side. They are very rudimentary but very solid construction.
You mean like the pedersoli?
Pretty cool pistol. For the price, that's a fun gun to have in your truck or quad.
Rossi had something like this a few years ago called a matched pair.. It was a single shot 45/410 Pistol. That also came with a 22Lr barrel… I still have mine….
Just ordered one!!!
Always looking for an excuse to buy another moderately priced for .410.....I like it. Thanks Buddy
This channel is sick.
I have the Comanche. Same thing, and it's great. So much fun.
WOW great Gun an more.great show very Professional an Detailed about the New Firearm ECT. God Bless You.
Love that Hand grip Design. An Barrell. KC from Kentucky Go Blue.
When I first saw these I thought oh cool a .45 70 single shot.But it's only 45 lc.Great video.
That’s pretty cool, I like the 45/410 combo pistol.
Make it in two barrels over and under and I'm in. Keep the ejector.
Would be a cool tackle box gun, hiking or truck gun. Something cheap you don't really care if it gets banged up. It's simple so I'm assuming it's reliable. But for home defense you better get fast at reloading.
I’ll be buying this.
I can't say why but for some reason I want this
Awesome little home defense gun
Couple questions what is that noise after you shoot. It's vibrating? 2nd how does the trap pick up the bird shot. The range I work at doesn't allow bird shot or 410. Was told it can come back and doesn't always go into trap. Nice looking gun. Thanks for video
*45 Colt- great review.
If Rossi is smart they will market it in a rifle model like they did in the 90's. Since H&R got rid of the Handi Rifle tooling they are worth a mint for a cheaply made single shot.
I appreciate the grouping you did. Many skip that
If they chambered it in 357 or 44 it would make for a decent whitetail gun.
I've kill a few deer with my 45 lc ruger blackhawk
Buffalo Bore loaded .45 LC will take down almost anything.

Buffalo Bore deer grenade 👍💥
@@camcom76 Yeah, but 357 and 44 are available everywhere.
Cool pistol! thanks
Saw my first one of these no more than 3 hours ago, was wondering about it.
This may be a good little tree stand gun for times when bowhunting and small game are both open. We often have turkeys, squirrels, rabbits, etc walk right under the stand
a good speech good presentation
I like all the Rossi single-shot rifles and shotguns I have often thought about making a single-shot pistol out of a single-shot rifle I have thought about making a single-shot pistol out of one of the rifles from

I like it! 👍
ROSSI makes very interesting weapons
I just happened to stumble onto one of these today 😳. Last one they had.
Parabéns a Rossi boa opção
410 close range NICE 👍🏾
How do you open the breach?
Are there plans to offer barrels in different calibers like the T/C’s?
Bruh this is amazing
Very interesting Great Testing Thanks 😁🇺🇸👽
Do yall make extended magazines and threaded barrels for this?
Very interesting gun. Rossi version of the TC contender. Which is no longer made. I’ll probably get this gun. They should have done the following to it. Should have be chambered 3.5 inch -410 -460SW- 45LC-45 scoffield. All etched on the barrel. Would be an awesome gun. We’d like to extra barrels or more chambering to this lineup. 500SW-327-44magnum-357 magnum-57/28 -44/40 9mm 40 cal version. 9 mm /380 version -32 ACP -25 ACP-….
Will it shoot the 460 Ruger or the before 454 casull
The .410/.45 combo is really cool. I have had the judge as well as the Comanche which is a single shot with a western grip. One thing i have found is the .45/.410 combo gun will never be as accurate as a dedicated .45 only of say a single shot or lever gun due to the jump between the bullet and the chamber same to the judge as the jump plus the jump to the cone hurts it even more. One problem is everyone wants to load it with the hottest newest bad boy .45 cartridges they can find and that magnifies the accuracy problem limiting the gun to under 20 yards. Just remember that a soft bullet going a little slower is going to be much much more accurate in a combo gun. As far as the .410 part goes its an under 25 yard single shot and under 10 yard wheel gun shotgun anyway for the most part and it does its job in the combo gun extremely well. If you can find someone. To load that .45 in full length brass so as the bullet seats in the chamber it truly is going to be a very very versatile handgun.
The Comanche also comes with a screw on choke for the .410 shell, which helps it quite a bit for patterns. It will shoot a slug incredibly straight.. I always just shoot .410 shells in mine.
The judge has micro groove rifling which doesn’t stabilize heavy jacketed bullets well. It has much less to do with the jump to the condensing cone… (like how 38 in a .357 is just as accurate) and even 9mm with moon clips. Also .45LC has a diameter of .451-.452 and .410
Slugs are .395-.405 in diameter. You’d think the smaller diameter slug wouldn’t be as accurate but it has more to do with the length of the projectile…. A .410 slug weighs between 89 and 158 grains .45LC slugs weigh 225-255 grains so the 45 is much longer and needs faster twist rates (the Taurus/Rossi has very slow twist rates and micro groove rifling) it is a compromise. It doesn’t shoot .45 slugs well and it doesn’t shoot .410 shot well…. But it does both… poorly.
Wonder how well it handles 4-10 slugs?
I've been hunting with my Thompson Contender since 1981
Give one with mostly straight "rifling" and I'll buy one.
That way it's legally rifled but works great with shot.
Do I need two of these to shoot competition skeet?
Does the 410 slug make contact with the rifling
Looks like that would work for snake/pest type duty around the farm.
(I kind of expected the longer rifled barrel to produce donut patterns with the smaller shot, but from your targets, doesn’t seem so at 5 yds.)
Great snake gun for riding horses. Some birdshot out of that should pattern about perfect for hitting a coiled rattler from the saddle.
@@TheCharleseye that could be a ok use for it. But cci makes shot shell for a lot of normal handgun calibers
And the 45 and 44 version all ready work wonders on rattlers and cotton mouths around the fl swamps that we have to get cows out of.
Even with the crazy new prices 20$ for a box for the 44. 2 rd cci shot backed by 4 240gr if something more serious needs to be shot.
The cci shot just as effective up close. And from what I saw of this guns shooting I have way more distance with the normal handgun.
Thompson contender had one years ago, interchanging barrel!
I want one so bad!!
Pretty nifty, I wouldn't mind having one
I like it. I realize many others will criticize it, why not other calibers, why not buy a T/C. Truth is this is inexpensive and offers an option, better than my Cobray Double D and less expensive than my Governor, especially giving you greater barrel length and a 3" chamber. Not sure of laws yet for hunting, but I do think extreme Turkey hunting with this thing, would be a crazy cool hunting option especially for some outfitters. I would have loved to see how it did with some 3" slugs, maybe I will be testing that out myself. Also, many people poo poo, .410 self defense rounds, but yet I don't see anyone willing to stand in front of one.
000 buck is four (Remington HD).36 caliber pellets hitting a target at the same time. People used to kill people with .36 calibers all the time...
"Also, many people poo poo, .410 self defense rounds, but yet I don't see anyone willing to stand in front of one."
Buddy, no one want to get shot by anything. Doesnt mean its good, just that people are surprisingly not totally stupid... mostly... there are some winners out there.
@@Schregger 000 buck or a slug has the same knock down power as a .357 Magnum...
You would not carry a Daisy BB pistol for defense.
You also would not want to be shot with one.
Kinda makes your point look foolish, huh?
@@gregzeigler3850So does 9mm.
Just a good fun gun
And where did y’all manage to find that much 410!?!
Ain’t seen it in the shelf in 4 years and it’s take what you can find when you do
I wonder if they will release a 454 casull version.
Companies need to make these 410-45 Colt handguns with straight rifling and interchangeable choke tubes.
The Super Comanche had choke tubes. Screwed right on the end of the barrel.
@@gregzeigler3850 Yep, they got the idea from TC.
A nice door knocker! Long time no see. But any time!
Make one in 357 mag. and it will sell even better.
That's pretty cool. Be nice to take walking in the woods if run into snake or bear or something. Hopefully companies will make holsters for it. may need to get one.
If you're expecting _bears,_ you'll want to be packing something a lot heavier than a .410/.45LC.
Shooting a bear with that will get you eaten.
What kind of accuracy can i get with 45lc d. Max range and best range for 45 kong colt
These might all that people can get, if things keep going the way that they are.

Looks a bit like a Thompson center contender. They had different caliber barrels for purchase.
How’s the rifling in the barrel

Hi dear
I love your reviews
Good survival gun
Just how is a single shot pistol any good in a brawl? I can get a two shot Derringer in 45 colt, that fits in my pocket. Some companies make revolvers just like your single shot, only they carry 6.
Sthuper neato and it even has a bwue stripe on the grip👍

Check out the Taurus Judge or Taurus Raging Hunter
It's very reminiscent of the supper Comanche. But I would love to have one.
Interesting hadn’t seen this one.
Camera person needs to show the results after every shot. They show some then none. Looks very promising for a cliee encounters weapon. New targets help as well.

Can you put a 45/70 or 45/90? Images of 45 I'll see you should be able to

Good video. I wish ROSSI would come out with something a little larger, like a 28ga or even a 20ga "TUFFY" truck-gun. .410 is okay, but not always easy to find. I see the Brawler as a novelty - but kinda cool too.
