- Hi. Just got hold of the much delayed Alice in Chains Dirt 30 year anniversary box set. These are my unboxing and first impressions. Let me know what you think or did you get hold of one? Let me know your thoughts in the comments. Please excuse the amateur commentary and filming, i'm no pro on this ;)

Don't feel bad about it.. I just received my set this past weekend..I'm from the States. I didn't know the female statue is the record player. I didn't grow up with vinyls just tapes & cds. I thought it was to move the magnetized dirt in the front of the box. Good to know. Enjoy!
Thanks for the video .Got mine here in Norway last Wednesday, a week ago. Such a quality box set. Now I really regret not going for the Facelift deluxe edition from Aug '21!
This box set is a slap in the face. No live content. No demos. The singles and pictures are worthless. They will be looked at once and shoved deep in the box to collect dust forever.

When did you order yours? My girl got me one for my birthday, which was last September, she ordered in August, and we've had nothing but constant delays with shipping.

There is no indication on my emails or tracking where it has come from but, made in Czech Republic could mean that origin for shipping too!? I hope yours arrives soon - let me know what you think! Best wishes
I got this magnificent set too, but I cannot help being slightly underwhelmed and disappointed. The way it has been put together and assembled is absolutely breathtaking. BUT, I can’t help feeling they missed a MASSIVE trick here. Essentially, this is the album on CD and vinyl remastered. The 7s are there, but Side B on all of them is etched. Where are the original single B-Sides?!!! The other MASSIVE disappointment is no live album or albums from the period. WHY??!! Dirt is an all time favourite of mine and this set is a beautiful celebration of the album, but that is also the main issue. It is just the album.

I completely understand your opinion here. Some may argue that it’s a celebration of ‘the album’ which it is essentially.
Personally, what I would have liked to have been included was the demos and the omitted track from the album that came out all over youtube. They were incredible and would have been a nice part of the box set. I’d have preferred this over a live recording. What do you think?

Yes. To bolster the set with the original demos and Fear the Voices/Lying Season which were the Dirt “Outtakes” should have been a given. Most of these tracks were previously released in the Music Bank boxset though. Even some of the demos. Would have been great to have the rest, I totally agree. I don’t understand why there’s such a dearth of live remasters though!
Anyone willing to sell me the book or box set let me know!!! Eager customer here!!
