- I was lucky enough to buy this extraordinarily rare box set of which only one copy was made. This is Steven Wilson's Ultra Deluxe Music Product on Obsolete Media Limited Edition of One version of his latest album, The Future Bites.
This is the first time Steven Wilson has released a box set like this. It includes dozens of exclusive items from Steven's long career, including handwritten lyrics, props from music videos, his Grammy nomination medallion, and more.. I made this video to share all of the items with you in detail.

We have got to be the luckiest fans in the world when the limited one-edition Ultra deluxe boxset that gets sold ends up in the hands of a guy willing to make a PERFECT video that goes through the entire set in details. Good narration, camera work, montage, everything is top notch. I got the deluxe edition, but seeing this video almost feels like having the ultra deluxe. Thank you so much for doing this AND for sharing the song!!
Thanks so much. I've gotten so much from Steven's music and videos over the years, I wouldn't want to deprive anyone of even one song from his catalog.
@@AlanLastufka Given that this set is a one-off, it's cool that he actually gave the owner permission to rip the disc. The box set (both the one-off £10000 pound edition and the "regular" edition mere mortals can obtain) is pretty cool. I'm not into Steven Wilson myself and I would never own any of this myself but it's still cool.

I have to say. I legitimately got chills and tears in my eye when you gave the details of the 7" single. Im surprised that I did, but I guess I can see why. I started pirating music at the ripe age of 13 back in 2000, found and subsequently fell in love with Steven Wilson/PT in 2004 and of course have since become a proper consumer. So to first hear him say that he would allow you to choose whether to release it or keep it private was really neat, but then when you said you would share it, I just responded with intense emotions. Very cool stuff. Thanks for going through this! I stopped in to my local shop to buy the vinyl a couple hours ago, and I've streamed it twice now. As always, one of my favorite records of all time. Thank you. And thank you to Mr. Wilson!

@@AlanLastufka I can wait, instead, i have plenty of back catalog to catch up. My "Up The Downstair"-cassette has arrived recently and it is good to hear the old mixes for once, when there was no drummer for PT aside the drum machine.
My advice : Scan these polaroids because sometimes thet fade over time.

And to think in the early 1990's I went to see an unknown band called Porcupine Tree in a fairly low key venue in Liverpool, England and afterwards a small amount of people stayed behind to meet the band.. I was talking to Steven for a while (He was probably only in his early 20's).. What was curious was that the drummer at the time Chris Maitland (lovely guy btw) signed my CD of Up the Downstair and whispered "Don't tell Steven!"

Amazing! I got my regular deluxe edition boxset today and I’m so happy!
Funny fact: the mirrored limited edition deluxe boxset 1/1 is contained in the regular deluxe edition boxsets too.
Yes, the mirror was in the standard deluxe edition, it was a great idea by Steven and company.

I received my copy of the Limited Edition Deluxe Box Set yesterday and I shared photos on my own unboxing on my Facebook page just because I really enjoyed discovering all the little details included in this beautiful box. I already listened to all the audio content except for the cassette because I don't have a cassette player but I found videos of the demos on YT. Now all I have to do is watch/listen to the Blu-ray. I have the Blu-ray of the album the Dolby Atmos mix is something else, Didn't think I'd like the album but its getting better with each listen, Congrats on buying the Ultra deluxe set and its very kind of you to share the music that was a one off.
I've ordered tickets for the tour the first show is in Cardiff Wales 8th of Sept and that's the show I'll be attending, pray to god we will be able to go, Being able to attend a concert and that its SW will make it very special.

There are no other sound files on the cd, even on slow scan, there was nothing picked up. The other poster was incorrect.

Great video really enjoyed it... i can tell by the way you handled the items, you take great care with your purchase. its lovely to see, although my deluxe boxsets arent exclusive as the one you have, i handle my items the same way. thank you for releasing the single as im just getting into Steve wilson, i picked up the bluray of TFB looking forward to the hi res mixes.
There's a lot to get into with Steven. After you make your way through his solo releases, then you get to dig into No Man, Blackfield, Porcupine Tree, and so much more! Enjoy your blu-ray, that's always my preferred format when available.

at least I find it good, that you have made a YT video about this box. they guy who bought the album music pour supermarches by JM Jarre from 1983, of which only one vinyl record existst, never made it public...
or that criminal who had the highest bid at an auction for that one wu tang album which was sold for over 2 mio (!) us dollars some years ago....
I hope Steven Wilson watches this video so he can see that his very special box set definitely went to the right man

Great stuff. Amazing looking set. I find the album concept a little cheesy and adolescent, but regardless, this is a truly enviable set! Looks like it went to a good home too.
Have you listened to the Future Bites test pressing? Does it have the last track that got left off the release (Anyone but Me)?
I have, and it does not, it's a test pressing of the retail version of the album.
Do you know where or how you will be sharing the rips of the exclusive content? Just wondering where I can look for it.

Add was only referring to the one song that was exclusively to this box set, which only one person owns, and has permission to share with the world. I bought the vinyl and if I am able to get a hold of one I will probably buy the box set.

I'm awaiting my Deluxe Box Set tomorrow and having listened to the whole album a couple of times, it's starting to grow on me.
Also a big thanky you for making The Tastemaker available to the public. May I ask you to upload in lossless format (WAV or FLAC)? 24Bit-96kHz would be Steven's choice.

I can officially say, I only know who Steven Wilson is from watching this video. That's probably sacrilege, but I'm being honest. I'm going to go and listen to his work for the first time.
Hope you enjoy! There's a lot of it. In addition to his solo releases, he was also the front man of Porcupine Tree, he's half of the band No-Man, and half of the band Blackfield. All of which have released multiple albums, singles, EPs, concerts, etc. :)

Thanks Alan, very interesting to watch - I like some of Steven's stuff, though I've streamed through the Future Bites a couple of times now and still not entirely sure about it, I also had a listen to your Caulden Road ep Reflexion - same response as not entirely my thing but is good nonetheless.
I saw an interview with SW on The Prog Report recently, where he said on this his co-producer steered him away for repeating himself so I have to acknowledge that and give him immense credit for not just doing what pepople think he should, which for any artist has to be applauded. He also explained the Atmos system which if it takes off and becomes affordable sounds absolutely brialliant though no doubt will require rebuying existing stuff probably at a premium price to start off with - and to be honest I'm not that great an audiophile though I can hear the immense difference between originals and his remixes.
Thanks for checking out my band even if we didn't click for you, appreciate it. I haven't upgraded to an Atmos system yet, right now I only have 5.1, but Atmos is definitely in my future, and I look forward to hearing all of these new surround mixes through it.

I don’t know if you’ll see this but first of all, thank you for this! Second, have you checked out the test pressing of the future bites? Because in one interview steven mentioned about its test pressing and that it has the original closing track Anyone But Me, so is it on the test pressing you have or is the closer Count Of Unease?
I did check the test pressing and it is the standard album with the "Count of Unease" closer. Thanks for pointing that out though!

There is only one Ultra Deluxe box, the one I just unboxed. The small box set inside (with the 0001/5000) is the 'standard' deluxe edition available in stores now. They included one of the smaller boxes inside the larger one-off Ultra Deluxe box.
How much import tax did you pay?
None. I don't think the US has import tax? At least, I've never had to paid any and I order a lot from overseas.
I'd pay big bucks for the Raven original lyrics... like fuck you money

@@AlanLastufka Yes, you are one lucky dude. That song in particular is so important to me. I've never been a sentimental person, or at least not as expressive. I heard that one live and it brought me to absolute tears. It's the best piece of music Steven has composed, at least to me. You are awesome for sharing this.
Now it's all opened, it's worth just a bit less than you spent, just a bit.
People are already sending me offers on Discogs, I think the value will only increase over time.
