That's so wholesome, glad you found a new hobby and I hope it'll work out well and you'll have fun!
Just know that it can be really frustrating especially in the beginning but I can promise it'll get better. (:
I don't think we had to know you were a cis straight man tf is cis if you're already putting straight? Straight straight man?
Hope it's going well!
That’s so adorable
ayyy good luck man, i been crocheting for 3 and a half yrs (i learned in feb 2021, and i turned 18 in Jan this year) and i'm a trans guy (please ignore the name on my account my actual name is Ashton). crocheting has been my favourite and most useful hobby ever. I also crocheted my entire art final piece and got an 8 (highest grade is a 9). i really hope you're enjoying it!!!
I taught my friend how to crochet today and gifted her your pattern, mine is already looking very cute :)
You explain so well. Anybody could learn to crochet watching you. Love the written instructions that appear on the video too.
This is my first crochet project and I can confidently say it is beginner-friendly, especially since I could also see the pattern on screen.
Mine turned out so cute, I used pink fluffy yarn and I also added him some eyebrows, a nose and a smile. I named him Mr. Dino :) . I'd say for my first try crocheting I did a good job and the video definitely helped. Thank you!

This is soo cute, I am definitely going to make one. Also I love your videos, you always explain everything perfectly.
hi! this is the first tutorial I have followed of yours, and I just wanted to say that having the pattern written down on the screen helps so much, because when you explain what is coming up next and the pattern is there, I am able to learn how to read patterns too. I am about 10 minutes into the video and can see the pattern, and know exactly what is coming up next. Thank you!
Hey 😊I saw your comment that you done this before was wondering if you’d be able to help me out I’m a bit stuck on one of the rounds
I’m stuck on round 3. When she says single crochet and then an increase. Does she mean a single crochet and increase in the same stitch or a single crochet in one stitch and then an increase in the next? Because I did a single crochet and an increase in the same stitch and the number of stitches that came out after were 24. But she says that they’re supposed to be 18. So I’m a little bit confused on this
@@ashleypalacio945 so you’re gonna do a single crochet, then an increase in the next stitch, and in the next one a single crochet, and next an increase etc.
the single crochet and increases are gonna be in different stitches! lmk if this helped or if you need me to explain it better
Yes!!! Thank you that is 100% cleared up can’t wait to finish this thank you for your help 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

Thnx sm for this amazing vlog!
Of all the other explanations I have seen, yours is splendid! The way you explain it made me understand in such an easy and simple way, if you can, bring us more videos. Beautiful work!
you should do a video doing small close up tutorials of every single one of your most frequently used stitches :)
hi! im currently on row 11 and its already looking very cute!! thank you so much
I want you to know that your magic circle video is the best magic circle of all. I have crocheted for years from thin yarn doilies to plus chunky yarn baby cocoon’s and the magic circle entrance to crochet a few years ago was so frustrating my hubby suggested I give it up as He could hear me blow up ha ha. Thank you!
This is the 1st time I have been able to do something like this. I have tried so many times, but failed! You have a great way of teaching... nice. Clear, slow, love your way!. Thank u so much!❤❤❤
i was looking for a new pattern! thank you so much for this, i'm waiting for the second part

At 7:50 when you do the stitches, does that take up the sc space? Do you then have more than 42 stitches?
I just made two for my friend! ADORABLE❤️☺️ simple and easy! thanks so much for the pattern!
Thank you so much for doing these videos! 10/10 recommend following your instructions. I’m a newbie and wanted to try a big project and this was it for me. It turned out not perfect but super cute!!

I was making this and my stitch mark was way further off the place i ended in row 6 and 7 and i realised i was stitching in the same hole more than 4 times and realised my mistake but i did it! O g finally a tutorial easy to follow tyyyy I’m so excited to start makeing
After R18 you go to R20. Is there a round missing or was it a miscount in rounds?
After round 8 you say to make sure the head is symmetrical, Im using a bigger yarn so mine looks a bit “wonky” so how would I determine how many “sc” to do?
Mine also looks wonky 😢
what I did was fold it in half and see where it was the symmetrical stitch
Omg I love you. You always pull through with the ones I want to make!a
Oh my goodness!! They are adorable.
Could u possibly make a sloth I love them and really want a video like your videos to follow
When you were in round 18 you skipped to round 20. Is there anything you have to do at all for round 19?
probably 18 and 19 are the same stitch pattern
I think R19 is 28sc. That will be enough with the 2 inc in R20 to come up with 30stiches
she answered it on description: "skipped round 19. Follow video instructions as normal"
I love this tutorial this is the first big dino I made! Thank u so much I love itttt!
i learned to crotchet from you! love your vids :)
I’m a little confused as to how you can add extra stitches to get to the back of the head, but then still follow the set pattern to expand the head/body in certain areas, and decrease in certain areas. My Dino is wonky and now his belly rounds out to the side by following the steps. Maybe I didn’t listen correctly or something but the math doesn’t make sense. Add a few extras here, but you should still have this many at the end of the round. 😢
So I also have this problem. The first time she says to add the extra stitches, she doesn’t tell us to move the stitch marker. I did this row like 4 times trying to figure out why I couldn’t get it to work. The second time she says to move the stitch marker so after the couple stitches to get to the back, the stitch marker is moved to where you’re at so that’s the new beginning. My Dino’s tummy also rounds out to the sides and I’m not sure why, I’m currently on step 30 and debating restarting :(
Same
Same problem, I have frogged mine and looking at the comments doesn't look like there is no point in restarting😞
Lol the head of the Dino is literally turned to the side for me 😭his body is straight but his head is like almost doing a 360
Have you guys solved this problem yet? 😩😩😩
I know I’m late, but all I’m going to say is that your tutorials are absolutely ❤ I watch all your videos for the makes and they turn out so cute at the end :) thank you for being an awesome and inspirational person :))))) 😊
And I have to say, as a 12 year old, this really keeps me occupied, so, thank you for making your videos easy to understand and now I have something to do :)
exactly the same here :) these tutorials are always so fun and adorable to make
This is so easy to follow. Thank you so much, it’s amazing compared to other ones I’ve looked at.
Don’t mind me, just reminding myself I’m on R21 for when I’m able to come back!
Hi, what do you think I have done wrong in R9, since I would have to make 7sc to complete my round?
Im currently on row 9, but when I get finished with the 22SC, I only have 4 stiches left...I counted the stiches from the previous row and its the correct amount...Im so confused..
This keeps happening to me too ! Did you ever figure it out ?
@@amandahunt8981 no, hahaha I gave up 😂😂
hi! would it be okay to sell this? (giving you credit for the pattern ofcc) also, how many grams of yarn did you use? :)
Yea absolutely! I use a bit more than half a skein (so a bit over 50g) of James C Brett Flutterby chunky . 😊
Ive jusy finished one. Thankyou so much! Your patterns are so easy to follow! I will definitely be making more 😊
Great tutorial, very easy to follow!
I have just finished part 1 , this video, and it was actually pre good. Took me 2 days (8hours). Instructions was easy to follow. However my dinosaur is a little lopsided lmaoo but it’s not noticeable unless u examine it closely. This was prob bc of the “stitches that needed to be added to make it symmetrical” I wasn’t sure how many I was suppose to add, still am not sure. But for row 8-9 I added 2. And for the body I added 2 too. Other tips I have is that really count the total no. Of stitches in each row esp if ur yarn is fluffy as this makes it harder to see the stitches. Especially when ur almost till the end (body) I did extra increases and decreases so I had to undo several rows. So after each round or maybe one or two rounds, u could count the total no. Of stitches to see if ure on track. Also, when ure doing the magic circle or row 1, u could put safety pins on each stitch to show the stitches. Since the magic circle is already small and if ur yarn is fluffy, u can barely see where are the stitches and it makes it harder to chain the next round bc ur just guessing wherever the stitch is. So I had put safety pins in every stitch as I did the magic circle and until row 2. This will allow u to find where the stitches are when ure chaining for the next round. It made it easier for me to see where I should be chaining since my yarn was quite fluffy. However as u move on to other rounds, u can see the stitches slightly clearer so it gets easier and u wouldn’t need those “markers”. Anyway to whoever is starting this dinosaur, good luck!! It’s quite easy to follow and make, just be patient n I hope urs turns out good too :))
The back stitches confused me too, would you recommend just not adding any of those extra stitches?
@@luperdrgz I reckon u would still have to add a couple of stitches
can you please tell me how much yarn you used to make this toy
I actually didn't understand what is meant by adding 'stitches' what exactly do you do?
Umm it jumps from row or round 18 to 20 with round 19. 🤔 17:36
Yes it’s a problem with the numbering - errata listed in description box 😊 Pattern is still correct though
I was looking in shein to buy a T-rex and since i couldn't find one I decided to make it myself and I am happy to find your channel I am subscribing rightaway
so simple to follow, thank you so much!
Please how do I know where is the back of the head after round 8.. what should I look for? Thank you
If you lay the piece flat, all the increases that are together should be towards the front of the face 🙂 usually one or two stitches is enough to get right to the back, as each round ends at the back.
Would it be possible to adapt this pattern to make a larger dinosaur by using 2 strands of yarn and a larger hook?
you can definitely do that!
Omg yes OFCC it would look so cute!!!
Amazing beautiful pattern!

I just put the eyes in wrong because I thought the hole would be at the back of the head so when she shahid that she is going to continue on form the hole in the head to the body my heart sank.
I was able to pull them out because I crocheted it quite loosely, but there are kind of holes in it 😭😭😭
Tip: make sure the eyes are in the correct way before you put the back on them.

@@kezkim_ About a foot tall :)
Hi! I am also using Bernat super bulky yarn, what size eyes did you have to use? The 9 mm are too small, I also used a bigger crochet hook, maybe that’s why I need bigger eyes lol
@@m3m3P I used an 8mm hook & I believe the eyes were 12mm. I got the eyes from Amazon. It turned out amazing! She loves her Dino :)))
I am following along but when I got to R5, I do not end up at the same spot you do? I may need guidance lol
The same happened for me if I repeat the last inc, 4sc I get the right count but not then the next row is off by 5
I am having issues as well???
ok. yeah. I got it. you have to follow the video very closely on this row, or specifically read the pattern as there is a change up in the way she increases here. I hope this helps
Ahhhhh so cute I can’t wait to start!!!
This one is my favourite so far 🥰
If I use thinner yarn, would this still work? I bought thinner yarn since it was cheaper and longer
Yup i don’t think the yarn size matters , it would just make your dinosaur smaller than hers. I use thicker yarn and the only difference is the size of my dinosaur.
@@cyanm5695 Thank you! Another question: if the stitch count to get to the back of the head after round 8 is different, would the rest of the project have a different stitch count? Ever since round 8 my stitch count has been a little off.
@@rover4442 as a beginner I don’t really know, but when I did it I didn’t use as many stitches to get to the back, so like yours it was a little off. If my row was off a little bit I would just repeat whatever the pattern was til I was able to reach the new row.
@@rover4442 I'm a beginner, but I've tried it and so far yes it does kinda change in the row 9. But u just have to count in row 9 whether its alread 38 or not, if yes then u're good
i know that R19 is skipped ,but what do we have to do in that row?
She simply labeled r19 as r20 so there is nothing to be done as the round isnt missing but simply mislabeled
Excellent tutorial! It’s been years since I’ve crocheted and my dinosaur turned out great!
Reminder- Done with 17
Your tutorial ist amazing!! It is so much fun and I am really enjoying it!!☀️
Question. Right after R8, when you do 3 stitches to get to the back of the head. How do you know exactly where the back of the head is. How would I know exactly how many stitches to put to get to the back of the head. Thank you in advance!
I had the same exact question! I'm really confused, hope they answer
@@goksut.6183 I know I hope so too. I was rewatching the video I think you can tell from the back being shorter. And the front being longer. When it shows from the top angle you can see one side sticks out further then the other.
But I still want to wait and make sure that is right
have you figured it out yet ive just got to that step and surely if you were to do a few stiches back then the next row would not be however many stiches it is
@@emmathomson3166 yess so I got to it finally. It ended up working for me. I just moved my stitch marker and continued on like normal and it worked out for me
@@denisesilva1307 Sorry I don't really understand, so we don't need to add stitches and just continue as usual or…something?
I know this is an old video but I am so lost on row 8 and 9. I added the 3 stiches to the end of row 8 to get to the back of the head. But now when I do row 9 I don't end up with 38 stiches I always have extra from adding those 3 on the end of 8. Been sitting here for an hour redoing it and for some reason my brain cannot grasp what I am doing wrong haha
I have the exact same problem!!
I may be too late for you, but don’t forget to move your stitch marker. I put mine on my first stitch (in this video she puts it in her past). Move the marker the same amount of stitches that you added. After I move it I count before I start row 9 to be sure it’s in the right spot. I hope that makes sense!
Since she said we may do 3, 2, or even just 1 extra stitch to get to the back of the head you may want to do an extra decrease to get your count to 38.
These are really cute, ty for pattern!
Wow .... ❤️ It's so adorable.
I love you for this video... really 🥺
18:09 timestamp for myself
Is there a pattern to make this bigger with worsted weight yarn? Love your work! This is so much better then sewing the head on the body
❤❤❤Thank you for this quick dino/dragon....I made 2 for a set of twins
No matter what I do on round 9, I end up with a spare stitch. After 5 attempts at redoing it, I added an extra decrease right at the end to bring me back to 38 stitches. Wish me luck lol
How’d it turn out? Maybe it’s because of the “add a few stitches” in between round 8-9
7:40 Check if it’s not your stitch marker tracking… I notice she tends to put her stitch marker at the beginning or end of rounds indiscriminately which can screw up your counts… like here it looks like she puts it on the last stitch of round 8 NOT the beginning one so that usually you would think you would end before it but you should end ON it this way…. make sure you do one or the other 🤗
Right before round 9 when she says she adds 3 extra stitches she actually added 4. If you do that your stitch count will be perfect
"do a few stitches to get to the back of the head, I did three"
*Looks at me work" hmm it seems I've somehow ended up at the very front of the head 😶
