---- About the Pattern ----
The Baby Octopus is a fast and easy no-sew amigurumi project, meaning it’s crocheted in one piece! It only takes 10 minutes to make and a great way to use up leftover scrap yarn. This stashbuster design features a round, squishy body and eight chubby little tentacles. These baby octopi are suitable as kawaii (“cute”) ornaments or keychain charms. They serve as fun kids toys, nursery decor, and pocket-sized friends! They’re perfect as birthday party favors or Valentine’s Day gift sets for an entire class of students. They sell well in craft fairs and markets. In addition, they can be used for therapy as a sensory fidget toy or stress ball, for people with anxiety, ADHD, or autism. You can use any yarn fiber, from cotton to chenille velvet, to create different textures…or any weight to create different sizes! This project looks great in all different yarn colors, including solids, ombre, self-striping, and variegated yarn. Customization is easy by adding crocheted appliques, bows, beads, buttons, eyes/facial features, and more.

Exciting news! A CROCHET KIT for this pattern is available: yarnsea.com/en/project/2116/10-minute-baby-octopus-free-amigurumi-pattern
I have NEVER learned something so difficult 😂😂 maybe it's because you fast bit u did it🎉🎉🎉
i love this video but as a beginner it took me exactly 1 hour and 57 minutes💀, and it doesn’t look the best because as i mentioned i am a beginner but this was a great tutorial and was easy to follow along to, i will definitely be trying this again soon!💗
Aww I'm sorry to hear that, but hey-- it's AMAZING of you to tackle something new as a beginner!! I am sure that with practice and repetition, you'll be able to whip up these little octos much faster! Howeve,r it's totally ok to take your time in crafting too. Going at a comfortable pace is important!
It would probably take me that long or longer & I’m advanced lol
@@dianacisneros3921 trust me when i say i was rushing…💀
same i actually started crying💀💀
@@أليس-ر8ع i was about to💀
I started crocheting recently and this was really fun as a mini project. It takes me around 30 minutes to make one but i couldn't stop with just making one of them.. I have a whole mini army, i will gift them to my friends :D I will also try making the big one, thank you for this adorable tutorial!
This is so awesome!!! YAY! I love that you have made a whole army to gift to friends. You'll all have matching octopi, so cute!!
Lol i love this i make a whole army with almost every pattern its just more fun in every single color
Omg same with my cousin
I made 14, I made 14 octopi. And my army is steadily growing
Yessir
I used to make origami turtles to the point where it went from 0 to a whole turtle town. Population was quickly rising and we didn’t have much space so sadly turtle town became vacant. For octopi.
You sound like me but with over a hundred stuffie I promise I’m mature!
This is it. My favorite comment. ☺️#OctupiArmy
How is your army now? 😂
This actually did take me ten minutes while watching the tutorial!! I am making them for the random acts of crochet kindness tysm for this wonderful tutorial!!
Yay!! So awesome to hear that they're going to be put into the world to be found! What a nice surprise they'll be. Are you in the RAK facebook group?
I would love that!! I can't wait to see pics of your duckies in the group! Woudl really appreciate you linking the video too. Thank you so much!
❤❤❤
I started a few weeks ago at crocheting so I'm not really a beginner, but this only took me 40 minutes to learn (37 mins 39 secs to be spacific) and I'm about to make a second one and thank you so much, this is one of the most clearest tutorial ever, although I had to translate the us terminology to UK terminology it was amazing ❤
Yay, I'm so glad you enjoyed the video tutorial! You'll get faster as you re-work this same pattern! :)
Good video! I started crocheting last month and I finally worked up the courage to try crocheting a plushie. Very easy to follow.
So glad you like it! Thank you so much!
I have been crocheting for awhile this has been a go to project for me and a lot of your other patterns they are really quick and a cute little gift for all ages.
Awesome to hear! Thank you!!
Thank you for this amazing tutorial! I'm a beginner who just learned how to crochet about a month ago so has only crocheted a couple of times, but your tutorial was so beginner friendly that even if I did not know exactly the techniques that you were using, I was still able to follow along and finish in about 25 minutes. It was definitely as great as your own, but I am very happy because it has 8 tentacles, looks like and octopus, and does not fall down ❤
Awesome job! You did great, and I'm glad you enjoyed making your cotopus!!
One of the first tutorials I was actually able to get correctly
Yay!!
@@SweetSofties it only took 20 minutes I’m rlly happy also I got an army now I got exactly 27 red octopi sitting staring at me while I go to bed
IM A BEGINNER AND I MADE THIS VERY NICE AND EASY THANK YOUU THIS IS MY FIRST CROCHET😊
Great job!! Glad you enjoyed the tutorial and I'm so happy you finished your very first crochet project!!!
Trust me when i say i have never EVER seen a better tutorial then this in my entire life thank you so much now exuse me i'll go ahead and make a whole army of them rn
Awww I'm happy to hear that!! An army of octopi sounds amazing!
THIS WAS SOMETHING I COULD ACTUALLY FINISH! I' m very greatful!
YAY!!!!!
This was such a fun craft that helped me through some anxiety, so thank you for this! All of your instructions were clear and easy to follow
Aww that's amazing to hear, thank you!! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I know this was posted a long time ago, but i decided i want to start crocheting again, and stuffed animals is where im gonna start! This video is super helpful and your voice is so nice! Im so excited ^~^
Yay, have fun crocheting again! It's so rewarding and enjoyable!!
It took me more than an hour as a beginner, it looks a little weird but still so cute!! I am really proud of myself
It also took me like an hour and a half but this was so helpful. Thank you so much!
Glad you liked it! It'll be faster the next time, now that you've run through it once!
This is my first ever crochet! I used chunkier yarn and it came out bulky and only with 7 tentacles 😅 but I loveee it. Will for sure try other projects from your channel. Thank you ❤
Great job finishing your first ever crochet!!! That's so exciting! I have lots more beginner-friendly and no-sew crochet patterns on my channel, hope you'll enjoy them too!
Mine has 12 tentacles, so you might’ve done better than me😂
OMG, this is so cute! Thank you so much for the tutorial. I cannot wait to make this as a phone charm!
It'd be an adorable phone charm!
This is so cute and very easy to do . Thank you for showing how to do the invisible Dec that was new to me . I made a bunch of these little guys and made them into a garland to hang above my friends baby crib
Thanks so much!! I appreciate your positive message and I think it's SUCH a cute idea to make them into a garland! What a sweet gift for your friend's baby!
This is so cute! This was my first try at Amigurumi, but you made it very easy and approachable! I'm on my third one, for some reason I keep miscounting or something, and ending up with a gap for a ninth leg! Hopefully I'll figure it out on the third try
Yay, happy to hear you enjoy the pattern! You'll get it down to 8 legs...I have faith in you! Did you start off with 16 sts in the previous round? Each leg takes up 2 sts of space so it should come down to 8!
Thank you so much ❤️ So cute. Great tutorial 👍
Glad you like it, thanks!!
I’m a beginner (like an absolute beginner since I just started today)and decided to try this out. It ended up working on my first try!! The only thing I would recommend would being a bit slower. But other than that, this was a great tutorial for beginners like me!
Bro I've been trying to work on this for 3 days and still can't do it 😢
@@kittymeow3298you will manage! Everyone can crochet ^^
Awesome to hear it, yay!! Thanks for the helpful feedback too!
This is a cute little octopus. Fast project. Thank you for sharing. 💜
Thanks so much! Glad you like it!!
Thank you so much for this video! So easy, my kids love them!
Yay so glad you liked this!
6:53 thank youu
YOU MAKE IT LOOK SO EASY
Late night learning how to crochet with rainbow loom hooks and embroidery floss wish me luck
Good luck!
I'm going to try this sometime soon. My friend makes a bunch of different stuffies and I want to add to my stuffie army. I'm legally blind and just super nervous to try but I think I will.
You can do it!!!
I really love this video and it took me like 4 hours to make and it turns out to be so cute❤
Awww I'm glad you liked the end result!! Your second one will be much faster!
I just ended up sewing the bottom hole because i gave up, it it was great! It took me 2 hours
Good job! Your next one will be much faster!
thank you so much for making this my mom loves it soooooooooo much
Aww that's so sweet!!!
How y'all took only 2 hours while I took like 2 days to finish it 😭😭
The tentacles were super hard and problematic and the decreases on the back loop part was super hard to find at first. But overall the pattern worked great, just might try a different yarn, probably “user error”. Great vid, love the vid ❤❤❤
It can be tricky working iwth fluffy yarn at first! Do try it again wtih a yarn that has clearer stitch definition adn it'll be easier to see the back loops!
Thank you, great tutorial! Fast and easy, will be making some for my son’s goodie bags!
Glad you liked it!!
Took me an hour, but I didn't get the eyes done because I don't have any yet, also tried without the chain markers/idicators and my octopus is a bit like the Pisa tower, but I think it's a great start for me, I started crocheting 2 weeks ago, but I barely have time to crochet so I'm a rookie beginner lol
Good job on crocheting this even though you just started!! I'm sure it'll get easier and faster as you practice!
If you don’t have anything for eyes right now I’m sure it’d look just as cute if you sewed them on!
Omg so cute easy and simple Ty sm grate tutorial is so fast and easy to follow along
So happy to hear that! Yay!!
I love this pattern. It took me 11 minutes. I think it will do for great Keychains and i will definitely make a lot fir my market. ❤
I made one in white and it looks like a ghost 👻
Yay, so awesome! Aww the white one must be presh!
I'm Turkish and I don't understand what Turkish channels are saying, but after watching your video i was able to (even though I don't speak english:)) thx
That's so awesome to hear!! YAY! And welcome, it's so awesome to know that I have a Turkish viewer!! :)

Thank u a lot ❤️❤️❤️
The Best video! And my octo is ready in 15 min 🥰
It came out great🥰
YAY!!
I love that you made little mistakes so new crotchers don't feel like they have to do it perfectly 😊
I make mistakes all the time, happy to share them LOL! :D Glad it helps!
Nice this can help for me as a bigginer ❤
Awesome to hear!
Awesome tutorial thanks this is the first thing I have ever done hardest thing for me was the slipstich I’m still not convinced I’ve done it right now lol but it don’t look to bad 😅
Yay, good job for finishing it!!!
Thank you!!!!
making this with weight 4 worsted yarn to make it TINIER
Aww it'll be so wittle and cute!
omg thank you so much! i was able to make 1 and your video was so easy to follow compare the others video that i have look.
Yay, so happy you enjoyed it!! THanks for the awesome feedback!
I saw your video slow motion as a 😊beginner there are very different videos that you and me 😊
love it , in next video can you make one but without crochet hook because i dont have one and i would love to do it with my hands if possible
Mama please slow down even in slow motion you fast
No it's not, actually this is the best tutorial...I made arigurumi for the very first time by watching this,I made it in 40 minutes and this turned out well...this isn't fast... she's explaining and then doing it and then speeding up not directly...even the written pattern is given, follow that then instead!!
Got to the legs and decided to go for a jellyfish, best decision of my life.
Cool!!!
this seems like a great tutorial but i’m a bit confused on how to do the decreases(sorry i’m beginner!)will definitely try once i understand the decreases tho!
Seeing a decrease stitch tutorial by itself first can help!
Cheering you on!
This took me a solid hour at 2am- 3am, i also made up the end part on my own bc my octopus had 7 legs and i didnt wanna watch the video anymore bc i did something that messed with the stiches ig. Gonna gove it to my friend as a gift bc it will be funny thanks :)
Very good video!!
Thanks so much!!
Help your going soooo fast and with the crochet hook idk were you put it like I’m scared I’m going to put it in a wrong whole and mess everything up like help😢😢😢
There's not really a wrong hole but on the chain you put it in the middle of the cross basically. And then once the 2nd round is made there will be a gap between stitches and that's the hole you put it in
Very nice 👌 👍
Thank you!
It took me 20 min to make❤
Good job finishing your octo!!
Thank you🥰
after 3 hours i finaly did it :D never again
I love this is turned out so cute and just like the video !😍
Lucky I can't even make the circle I only know how to make straight lines 😭
As a beginner beginner this one was really fast paced. Its a cute project but I couldn't really see what was going on unless I slowed it down to the slowest setting. Cute project tho
Can you do another one but threading the eyes in with black yarn
Adorable! Please share cute printables.
Check out the link in my description box; the octopus pattern page will have the printable tags!
As a 10 year old this went good
YAY!!
I'm a beginner and it took me well over an hour. I used white yarn so it almost looks like a ghost. I also used googly eyes
Wow, so cool, a white octo!! Good job and your next one will be faster!
You sound like cookie swirl c and its so pretty!
I had to search what cookie swirl c was! Cool to know!
You made me cry it is so heard 😢
“Heard”? 💀
WHY DOES SHE ONLY HAVE 12 LIKES?! YALL LIKE
So glad to hear it! Cheering you on!
Hi sweet softies! I have my own etsy and i love to sell these!!! I had a question: Am i aloud to sell these and would you want me to give you credits? I love your content and crochet so much keep the good work up ❤
Hi, thanks for asking! You're welcome to sell as long as you credit me as the designer with my name/site, such as: "Pattern design by Sweet Softies, www.sweetsofties.com"! :) Thanks!!

Aww thank you!!!!
i just realized that u can make a magic circle from slip knot💀💀
why tf your voice like fluttershy???!!!!!?!?!? the most angelic voice ive ever heard!!!!
Haha someone once mentioned fluttershy before and I looked it up...I can't believe I sound like a cartoon horse lol! XD Thank you I guess!
Your voice so cute❤❤
GIRLLL YOU MF SAID YOU GOING SLOWWW TF , YOU GOING SO FASTTTTTT LIKE BFFR ty
Pls help me with the tenticles
This is very easy and quick but my octo isn't small, its kind of big 😅
The bigger, the more to love!
Can you make an esier tutorial for the octupus
Thanks for the input! I'll try doing that!
I was wondering if I could sell the finished product if I give you credit for the pattern?
Yes, you can as long as you credit me with my name and site, such as: "Pattern Design by Sweet Softies, www.sweetsofties.com"
Hi!! I love it!! But how to make it bigger?
One way is to use this exact pattern but thicker yarn + bigger hook. If you are already using super bulky yarn like I am, you can double up your yarn by holding two strands at once.
11:18 I followed along fine till it came to closing it up! It's so hard to see, what is happening at the end there :´(
I feel so dumb rn. I’ve watch this video 8 times. Most on slow motion, and I cannot comprehend how to do them. I’ve worked on it for a couple hours and I can’t get it. Does anyone have any tips?
guys im kinda confused, for r3-r4 am i doing the same this as i was for r2???? r= round 1,2,3...= which round
It took me 11:24🎉
Woohoo!! 🎉🎉🎉
I want to make a little family!!😭😭
That would be super cute!!
Doing it with regular yarn was hard it took me hours now it like 5 minutes
Wow, five mins! Great job!!!
Do u have any tips becuase mine does NOT look good w regular yarn😭😭
I used small yarn and now I have a micro octopus 😂
Awww, it must be teeny!!!
For Christmas my aunt got me a beginner crochet kit but I ended up giving up and my mom did it instead-
Put a clip to remember where you started your magic circle ⭕️
Thank you so much for this video tutorial 😍😍😍😍 I did my octopus and it’s so cute. I’ll tag you on Instagram on my octopus post 🐙❤️
Oh that’s wonderful to hear! Great job!! I’ll try finding it on IG; what’s your username?

I always go to settings and slow the videos down
She gotta make it in 10 minutes
I'm a moderate crocheter and the first one took me about an hour, but the second one took me literally 10 minutes. I'm gonna be doing this all day. Thank you!

Literally exactly the same time she lost me.
Hows this for beginers its so hard i cant i try to make somthing fail im only 10 and started crocheting a few months ago to make plushies but its just too hard i hate this im bad at everything 😭😭😭 im crying irl because of how hard it was
Maybe try practicing the stitches then try to do it and also practice control with your yarn so it's not too loose
@@ASHLYNN51011 i do
Maybe try a Woobles beginner kit :) it comes with everything you need to start; and it has step by step, stitch by stitch instructions which are very good for learning what each stitch is and how to do them properly.
I promise you will get better with practice so don't be discouraged, the first few projects always turn out a lil wonky!
Just take your time and pause the video, repeat the instructions. Its simple when you learn the crocheting terminology, you'll get it! 😁 i taught my 11 year old with this tutorial, i promise you'll get it eventually.
my octopus ended up with 10 tentacles. i love him.
More legs = more love!!!
That's hilarious and adorable
Absolutely died laughing
I’m learning how to make an octopus, and when I saw this comment, I literally laughed to myself. You made my day. Thank you ❤ 😂🎉
I saw this comment and laughed, I almost had 9, lol. Nice to know I'm not alone in this endeavor! LOLOL

So sweet of you to make it for Mom!! Of course she loves it!
I still don’t understand. The first part is so confusing
Instead of that you can also do a magic ring and do 8 sc into it and then do the 8sc inc
No I’m so sorry that part is hard yes but the tentacles or soooooooo hard😭
2 hours for me. I had to use a magic circle to start cause I kept messing up. And my finish isn’t the prettiest (she has a scar on her belly😂). But she’s done! My very own octopus baby. Thanks for the tutorial!
Aww, sorry to hear it took longer than expected! You did it though!! YAY!
Same 😂😂😂
Omg, your too fast😭😭
True, but you can watch it on a slower speed. I watched on speed 0.25
Just tap on the screen, press settings, playback screen, and you can decide
