You help me so much to do the songs that I like to play out. Oh Its hard to listen to the end of the music that plays when the video is ending.. itscweird but I think of my Dad. Boy I miss him
Always great and fun lessons from you Dave. Saw SD live when their first album came out. Focus opened the show, then Dan and last act was Black Oak Arkansas. In Hollywood. Palmer was with them as was Skunk. Fantastic show!
@@DavesGuitarChannel LOL Im just old. But saw so many of those cheap local 3 band concerts back in the early to mid 70s. Focus was unknown and had the place going nuts! They did a 15 minute of so 'Hocus Pocus' with singer/keyboardist Thijs doing even crazier yodels, playing a squeeze box while doing that Russian Coassack dance. LOL. Jan? I though he was from another planet! He was flying on the fretboard! When Steely Dan came out, Donald was the guy hiding in the back ... really shy. First song ... Do It Again with just drums for 2 full minutes. When the bass kicked in, crowd went rabid. Big hit on FM then. Bodisattva was new one and blew us all away! BOA is just a fun time ... saw them 3 times. Would Roth had ever been a singer had it not been for Jim Dandy? Great shows! Again thanks for your insightful clean lessons and comments.
Awesome, it’s the only tutorial I could find in acoustic that sounded like the original steely dan song. Every other cover or chord lesson sounds lower
great lesson kind of.. i just dont understand why All teachers when using a capo dont call the chords by the porper name. sorry im not be confrontational it just comes across as lazy to me.but as a bass player it has helped my ears.
If I'm calling out the chords to another instrument, then I would call out the name of the chords by the proper name because that would make sense since we are playing together, however when teaching a song, this doesn't make sense, it only makes sense to call it out in relation to the capo. Let's say you learn it, but you don't want to sing it that high. Take the capo off, you still know the chords and can follow the lesson. Song isn't high enough for your voice, move the capo up and the lesson still applies.
@@DavesGuitarChannel ty I understand now but as a bass player I have to transpose. Which ends up being a nice challenge and a education Music forever. Thanks for the great video
yeah but. teachers say learn the neck learn the scalessorry i feel its a cop out if your a teacher call it what it is not what the shape is. @@DavesGuitarChannel
