    Thank God you know how to teach. This guy Tim Thompson tries to teach with you standing behind him. I graduated from Peabody for classical and studied with Carl Filipiak for years and I have never had to stand behind an instructor. Thanks so much for doing this properly. God bless you .

    I wasn’t surprised finding you do this song Dave. And I’m glad! This song was running through my mind for the last few hours for some odd reason. I’m going to have to try it soon. Always dig your channel and your excellent chops and insights.

    Thanks for all of your work Dave, so many great tunes, you have impeccable taste. You save so much time and most importantly my hearing, all I have to do is watch your video and I've got it. I spend a lot of time writing and recording but I always wanted to learn many of these tunes. Steely Dan has inched ahead of the Beatles for me in the last few years so keep them coming.

    Very cool and your voice sound good on this. I went back through your videos and worked on Dirty Work and any Major Dude yesterday and before that How Deep is your love which is how i found your channel. I'm a good enough player to be able to learn the stuff the way you teach it although I am learning it all on electric as both my acoustics are out right now... Thanks for the info and inspiration.

    Excellent Tutorial!!! Insane cords! Great job explaining them. I’m a Ramones kind of guy, my knowledge is basically major bar cords with the occasional minor or 7 cord. You are a great teacher.

    Another great selection...very cool chords... that requires a trained ear to hear and then voice on the guitar. Thanks, and thanks to S D for amazing musical compositions that never get old.

    Beautiful as always, thank you so much I’ve been playing that song but some of these Voicings are much better. Your musical tastes are impeccable they run pretty parallel to mine, I love the spinners so much. Every time I see you post a lesson by an artist or group that I like it just makes me smile and I can’t wait to watch you work your way through it. Thanks again.

    ...imagine my surprise when I saw you... revealing the hidden mysteries of these heretofore inscrutable jazz chords! The Oscar winning Chinatown premiered 9 months before this baby was born and Al Stewart's Year of the Cat followed the next year. Fu Manchu got nothing on you, Dave.

    Sweet! Always excited for a new lesson, but especially more Steely Dan. Any chance you would consider The Boston Rag? It’s a deeper cut for sure, but a really great song. I’ve tried to piece an acoustic version together and a few things don’t sound quite right.

    Hey Dave, great lesson. Have you ever heard the Kathy Lied demos & out takes that were released a few years ago? It features Dr. Wu and a few other songs in their rare\un-mastered states. It's great to hear some of those songs with minimal production. they sound more like a jam session. You can hear just how great that band was.
    Here's a link to the album
    ruclips.net/video/iKnjpl8Rv4g/видео.html
    Bad Sneakers (my favorite one, really funky) is from 3:33-6:38
    Doctor Wu is from 12:51-16:20
    and there are a bunch others.

    That E 11 sounds like the first chord in Herbie Hancock's "Maiden Voyage" Anyone else hear that?

    • @DavesGuitarChannel
      @DavesGuitarChannel  8 месяцев назад

      Yes but I believe it's a D11 in Maiden Voyage, that goes into an Fmaj9.

      You could also see it as C/D to C/F
