In this clip, Warren Sapp reacts to Antonio Brown's allegations that his former teammate on the Pittsburgh Steelers gave him CTE, due to violent hits in practice. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers great then explains that CTE is diagnosed after the brain of a deceased player has been examined. Therefore, AB couldn't possibly know if he has CTE or not. This prompts Coach PR to mention that Sapp once brought up the fact that he might have CTE. Sapp explained the 20-year window that likely would cause a football player to have CTE. Lastly, he states that parents should not let their kids play football until they're 14 years old.

Warren is showing his CTE in this interview. Mostly every football player that I know, especially if they played in the trenches, they all are a little punch drunk.
What does punch drunk mean ?
@Ace Parks punch drunk is usually used to reference boxers who have taken extensive brain damage to the point that they talk as though they are inebriated even when sober. They may have a cohesive thought, but it just comes out a jumbled mess because the wires are too crossed.

1:01 There hasn't been a diagnosis of CTE in a living person, because CTE can (currently) only be diagnosed post-mortem. That doesn't mean that people aren't walking around with CTE.
CTE symptoms include: memory loss, confusion, impaired judgment, aggression, depression, anxiety, suicidality, etc. These symptoms can begin years or - decades - after the last brain trauma or end of active athletic involvement. Therefore, it's perfectly reasonable for a living person to suspect they have CTE.
You don't know though. And since you can't check. The only fact is when you dead

There are brain scans that can be done that point to CTE, dementia and alzheimers
Technology is getting better in regard to CTE but it’s not there yet as with other brain conditions that you mentioned, but repeated head trauma is definitely affecting all those players and I would not let my kids play football
CTE comes from repetitive head trauma. 1 hit in the NFL didn’t do this. AB stepped onto an NFL field for the first time with 16 years of tackle football on his body. His brain was mush already
This is one of the biggest misconceptions I played football for 8 years defensive line multiple concussions I struggle with mood swings also sometimes feeling out of reality not feeling like myself a high school football player died on the field not to long ago he was only 16 or 17 I believe he had one of the worst cases of CTE

Antonio Brown has had some vicious hits over his career and he just started acting weird a couple years ago. If I was a betting money I’d say he has at the least early stage CTE. He’s beyond the diva wr we normally see. Totally erratic behavior is a hallmark.

@@kaekae1782 so far c.t.e can only be diagnosed after you die meaning your brain has to be donated and studied of all the donated football players brains its actually more common that they find signs of c.t.e than not and thats even on young people who only played high school ball....so it seems like stax did make up that statistic but as far as we know he may not be that far off don't really have the sample size to say he's for sure wrong

I think you can tell if you have CTE. Youre going to feel off and know that youre not the same even if others haven’t diagnosed you yet. Alot of people keep things concerning how their body (head) is feeling to themselves

CTE doesn't come from concussions. It comes from taking lots of sub-concussive hits. WRs aren't taking that many hits. 1 hit didn't do this to AB.
