      One of the important thing is with the arrival of adama and auba that our counter attacks is improving, when we need counter attacks with these players we can do that which we were missing in first half of the season, because sometimes we can't break opposition's defence line with tiki taka, just like what Luis Enrique used to do (tiki taka with good counter attacking football)

    Under Xavi midfielders are taking more shots, as we have seen with Frenkie De Jong in the Napoli game, and Pedri vs Athletic Bilbao and Valencia, pressing has definitely improved, we pressed the life out of Napoli, wingers staying wide has opened so much more space for midfielders to move up in the half spaces, Xaviball is truly amazing.

    Before Xavi joined, Barca was losing their philosophy little by little(Playing defensive football). Then Xavi came and restored the Barca we all love!
    [ Edited-I think I should have been more specific, instead of saying defensive football, We played in a style that wasn't in our DNA. We used to have lots of possession but most of the time our midfielders didn't know what to do, Get the ball and pass to Messi. The more I watched them play I felt self-belief was fading away after every bad result. The main reason we suffered in big games was the weak mentality of our past managers. Agree with all the points, but feel this video was made prematurely. Barcelona's style have been more defined since the game against Atletico. We're beginning to see the results of this system with more goals scored, better buildups, midfielders scoring goals.
    The most notable change that we've seen is Frenkie dejong being given a free role on the left side of the midfield. He drops deeper than Busquets to help the defence, covers for Alba when he moves forward, runs with the ball, makes runs off the ball in the opposition box, and is now taking shots from a distance. He's the key to this team becoming something great(along with Pedri of course).
    Other changes that we're seeing is Alba's cross field balls from deep left (akin to what Leo was doing from the right), the main striker(Auba) dropping deep to open up space for the left winger to move inside, Adama frikkin Traore doing his thing, and yeah press press press.
    Once Ferran gets back his shooting boots and/or Ansu returns, we're gonna see us score more and more goals.
    Xavi has improved each and every outfield player within a few months. Something neither Koeman or Valverde could do. I really think he could have easily helped someone like a semedo or Firpo to reach their potential.
    Hoping for great things❤️💙

    If we're gonna talk about the progress Xavi has made, we have to mention the positional understanding and the intensity enhancements. The players' form is evidently increasing because of Xavi's philosophy, including Busquets who even though is aging, has shown that he can play at the top level if given support from the right manager. You're wrong, this is a dumb explanation of why Barsa won so many titles. @@vismong102 I think it's a positive feedback loop. Good coaches help good players become great which makes them look like great coaches. Xavi, Iniesta and Messi are who they are because of Pep and Pep is Pep because he had the players with #1 the intelligence, #2 the skill to pull off what he asked of them. Most great coaches do the best with the players they have, I don't think Pep's false 9 was something he came up with before he saw the squad. It's a result of the squad he had (Messi, in particular) who can pull it off. Also, it was his way to deal with what other teams were doing. Xavi is doing something similar but he's also elevating and educating the individual players and that makes him a great coach imho because the players actually benefit from his experience.

    I think its not just the pitch culture that changed, the talent acquisition seems to change since Xavi and Laporta went in. Instead of bringing in luxury players with stellar wages like in case of Griez, Cou, and Dembele, Barca bought players with clear goal in mind and with something to prove (Adama, Ferran, Auba). As we can see with Auba in Arsenal, Suarez, and Dembele, too much money corrupts character. I mean, look at Adama, he rejected 120000 per week from Spurs to play for 15000.
    The team had lost their spirit long before Messi left. It would take long way to revive that desire and build a competitive team. Xavi needs to heed Cruyff's words that 'if you have second thoughts to play for Barca, you are no use to us'. Players should play for the club, not the club to serve their players.

    • @hafiz2664

      Agreed. The transfers certainly played one of the biggest roles in the team’s turnaround. The other, apart from his tactics, is his man management skills. A few players have significantly improved and benefitted since his arrival. Dest and Dembele comes to mind. They have certainly repaid the coach’s faith/trust/belied in them. Players like Pedri and FDJ have been regularly performing before Xavi’s appointment but has since improved marginally playing under him.

    +1 addition (and as I can see fellow commenters also mentioned it already) is how well Barca immediately presses right after losing posession, and it's incredible, how effective it is. One could say Napoli was sloppy with the ball, but in fact I think it was much more about this agressive, immediate pressing, that lead to so much balls retrieved in Napoli's half. But had u watched the full game against Valencia and Napoli, u would have seen the improvements that we have made already. Visca barca!

    Other than his tactics, i really admire how he improves the players to their potential, the youngsters or even the vet like busquets, who was used horribly by koeman. He was literally bossing the midfield in euro under lucho but looked like a washed player under koeman.

    There are so many positive thinfs that are happening under xavi already!! Fitness morale confidence are few to begin with on individual level for players... Other things being, getting right kind of players in transfer market. Xavi knows what he wants to do.. No doubt he has already improved existing players.. I mean Luuk dj had been getting points for Barcelona! Evolved fdj, dest.. pique alba busquets are motivated to push despite age issues and are doing good..Adama was considered joke move by "pundits" he already has 4 assists in 5 games and some critical individual performances
    . With injection of some new blood in defence line.....I am sure xavi can do a wonderful work next season!

    Improving the team’s tactics is just one half of Xavi’s success, it must also be stated that his man management skills played a significant role in improving the team. Many players started believing in the work they do as the managers has faith in them wholeheartedly. FDJ, Dembele and Dest are some names that come to mind who has benefited from the belief of their coach.

    Disagree that it’s a long road to recovery. I claim they are already in the top 6 teams in the world. They are firing on all cylinders, even with Fati sidelined and Torres not yet finding the clinical final touch. Barcelona is back! Visca Barca 🔵🔴

    One great fact to track to see the impact Xavi is having is the number of passes between both midfielders. Since Luis Enrique it had begun to shrink, and that's not a good sign for the way we play. Good players should play amongst them.

    • @rodrigolucas8369

    • @XPL80
      @XPL80 2 года назад +1

      @@rodrigolucas8369 true, but you can see the change in style, specially with Rakitic in Xavi's place. He was almost always running wide to cover for Messi's lack of defensive effort, and thus too far away from Iniesta to combine with him. The tactic was adept on creating superiorities in wide areas rather than overloading the middle.

    Been a while but here we are again! Great video.
    Honestly in my opinion the upswing is from the influx of new players. Xavi isn’t a magician and Koeman wasn’t a bad coach. In fact, I see very many similarities. Xavi even thankfully makes plenty of use of Luuk.

    • @anon-kl8tm
      @anon-kl8tm 2 года назад +1

      Faramund influx of new players doesn't alone help the case. The entire team is playing well, and executing tactics, rather than rely on somehow pass to the front 3! The style of play is clearly identical on Barca s play, the utilisation of space and planned and smart high yet intensity pressing and getting back to formation to quickly circulate the ball thru positional play to open up space, such that the forwards can do their thing- ALL OF WHICH WAS GREEK N LATIN DURING KOEMAN S REIGN!!!. The only thing similar is use of Luuk De jong, who under Koeman was as useless as K in knife

( niko,pedri, and de jong) knowing that when de jong played as a cdm in ajax, he was the best in the world.

    I think Traore needs to try to be more inverted, because he's so predictable and limited, as we saw against Napoli first leg

    • @bryce8634
      @bryce8634 2 года назад +3

      him moving inside would mean we lose width out wide, and that opens up all the space to pass and move in the midfield. Having wingers wide stretches the backline of the defense, and 1 on 1 Adama can simply outpace almost anyone, plus his crosses have been crucial, and him moving inside reduces the chances of him getting into those crossing situations

    • @MattFitt
      @MattFitt 2 года назад

      Not necessary for the time being. The purpose to purchase Traore is to provide wide and cross the ball. Not to cut inside and score.

    what i like about xavi tactic, is this is not even a copy paste of 2009-2012 barca.
    xavi understand football is changing, cant just tikitaka everything
    obv there is no messi, so the players keep changing along with the tactics played
    sometimes winger cut in, sometimes crossing, and it keeps the opponent surprised
