Even though I know how to make pretty much all the recipes you share I still love watching because you're one of the few Haitian cooking channels on RUclips that does quality videos. Keep up the good job!
I love the way you displayed the ingredients in the beginning of the video. It’s so important to see the ingredients. Also, your explanation is well explained. Thanks 🙏🏽 a bunch.
Thank you so much for your videos. Such a great help with bringing our culture meals to our kids for them to experience. Being married and away from Mummy is tough when we dont get those haitian dinners anymore. Such nostalgia watching your videos. Thanks
OMG, thought I’d subscribed. Now I definitely have! Really enjoy your style. Just straight & simple directions w/o all the silly 🙃, animations and unnecessary chitchat. You’re one of the BEST! Thx a bunch!
OMG!!! This looks amazing I’m going to truly cook this I love Lima beans; are these the authentic bean or are these the closest kind of bean to what’s there in South Dakota you can use. What other srewed meat works. Yes I did subscribe
Can this be made with dried shitka mushrooms and leave them in the rice ? I love mushrooms so why not leave them in the rice. Not the mushrooms with all of that debris & trash but other clean & dried mushrooms.
@@LamiseO Oooh, I see. Is it difficult to find this mushroom, as I’ve never heard of it before but I’m anxious to try your recipe. I often soak dried shiitake mushrooms for braising and the water is very dark and flavorful so I’m just wondering…. 🤔 Perhaps if I were to use blender to liquidate mushrooms? 🤔
Hi, thank you so much for this video! I was just about to cook it, but I poured the mushrooms directly into the beans, no rinse, no sifting. Thank God I watched this first. Is it possible to cook it that way as well? Or it's a must to do it your way? I wish I had the jon jon cubes, but I can't find them anywhere, smh. Thanks again.
Great job, Episode 2 (with Maggie Jhon jhon) was the 1st recipe I've tried, this weekend I am going to the haitian neighborhood to get real jhon jhon. THANKS for the share Sis...You are the Best! #LAKAYSELAKAY

You are so right. I don’t often cook Haitian food but whenever I need a reference, I look up for her ❤️

Bonsoir bel madame

Lamise , how long does mushroom last. If I am making a small amount of rice . Can I store the remainder of the mushroom stock/water?
Yes you can store it for about a week.
Can this be made with dried shitka mushrooms and leave them in the rice ?
I love mushrooms so why not leave them in the rice. Not the mushrooms with all of that debris & trash but other clean & dried mushrooms.
It won’t make it dark.

You can actually do it my way then blend the mushrooms and strain it to get all the nice dark juice out. Happy Holidays!
@@LamiseO Thank you so much! And happy holidays to you too! 😊 🙏🏽
❤❤❤❤ You making me hungry!
In the description box it says *2 Tablespoon of Haitian spice* what is that? Where do you buy it?
The green seasoning

I tried this with portabella mushrooms & brown rice instead , but the rice didn't turn out black. Is that why? If so, should I use the cube next time?
The mushroom used in the video gives it its unique color and taste. Other mushrooms wont
Have to use Djon Djon mushrooms for that. Portabella is a different mushroom.
I order it on Amazon
It looks yummy, I love this, wish i was there to taste, are you a jw
Did you boil the mushrooms or you just let it soak in water?
i let it soak in the boiling hot water to speed up the video. Thank you for watching!
