    I went to watch the Moto America races at Laguna Seca and I hit the Kawasaki demo truck to try out the new 2024 Ninja 500. I rode my BMW K1600GTL up to Monterey from SoCal and will make a video on that next. Stay tuned.

    I have 2024 ninja 500 se 40th anniversary abs. Used to have a 18 ninja 400. These have more low end power and torque plus more tech. I have a full exhaust, velocity stacks, air filter, modified air box and 2wheel dyno works
    tune. This thing flys!!!. Lot quicker than my old 400 tuned. If you can find a 40th anniversary, grab it. They are only making them this year only. Was going to go for a bigger bike, but I see no sense since I can’t use all that power on the street, with this bike I can.

      Sweet bike. I really wish there was some left in Australia (wanted X2 for Mrs and myself but only found one interstate so $1000+ added delivery but as you know the colour scheme looks awesome). So many dealers took my deposit but last week instead of being delivered this month they called and said Christmas time (there's no 40th anniversary SE coming in with the 25 bikes and they lie)

    Hey Bro...Nice review. I like these sort of low key reviews from real riders who own other bikes and have some experience to draw upon. I would be considered a re-entry rider at this point not having ridden in a few years at 56 years old. If I buy a Ninja 500 it would be my 5th street bike. I've have bigger and faster stuff before but my favorite bike back in the day was my old SV650. I'm sure the experience on the Ninja 500 is pretty similar. Looks like a great bike and greater value for pure fun...great job!

      Thanks I appreciate it. Yeah the value for fun as you put it seems super high. I had no problem with the power at all.
      For experienced riders like us I think the fun on these things comes from how light they are. They just tip over in the corners like nothing and you don’t have to fight it. It’s like driving a super light sports car. The fun is you can test the limits of the vehicle in a safer manner than a high hp heavy one while still staying close to legal on the road.

    I’m getting my permit in a week and I’m hoping to buy a bike by the end of August and there are a handful of 500s available around me including an anniversary edition so I’m hoping no one picks them up.

      PUT DEPOSIT DOWN ON ANNIVERSARY SE BRO Why take the chance of none left. That's the situation myself and others are in, no bikes left in Australia (40th anniversary SE 500 🤬)

    Heya! Struggling to pick between the cbr500r and ninja 500/ 500 SE. Which should I get and why?

    • @SocalMotoRx
      @SocalMotoRx  Месяц назад

      I have never ridden the CBR500r but they look very similar in specs. The CBR has dual front discs and more adjustment on the rear shock but other than that they seem very comparable.
      I would say that the price on the CBR is a good amount more. The CBR500 is $8k MSRP after the freight charge and before taxes and fees. That’s what I paid for my top of the line Ninja SE after taxes and out the door. The regular Ninja with ABS would be even a grand less than that. For a new CBR500 you are probably looking at $10k out the door.

    Ive ordered the anniversary 500. Im not a new riders either. Ive had/have big bikes. I want a smaller/lighter bike. Ive had a grom and a tnt125. The novelty of those wears out really quickly.

      @@MsChrisep funny enough I just picked a 40th anniversary up last weekend. I’m currently cutting up a video of my initial impressions. You will not be disappointed! I’m having so much fun on it! It’s so light and nimble but I took it on the freeway to commute to work and had no problems going 80mph on the freeway to keep up with traffic.

      You have had same bikes as myself but I had the 135 vs 125 Benelli TNT. I hated my 5sp Grom compared to Benelli and I also had a crf300 but dangerous suspension off road (good for the road with 154kmh top speed). The monkey was more than the crf300l so I got the dual sport. Waiting on delivery of same 500 (dealer in Queensland actually had one so $1000+ added delivery). In Australia there's no 40th anniversary SE left (I called 60+ dealers luckily one from interstate called back as they had one. I was shattered when other dealers cancelled month after taking cash 🤬)

    • @MsChrisep
      @MsChrisep 21 день назад

      @@jamesgeorgevellavella1961 so the dealer has confirmed no bikes for Melbourne? Have they refunded your deposits? I emailed my guy last week for an update and he still said “due end of august/start September”. I don’t believe for a second that he actually made any phone calls to confirm anything. Theres 2 bikes on bikesales right now. Qld and nsw, i believe. But im not prepared to pay an extra grand for shipping. Then all the bs involved with getting it registered in vic. I had other bikes on my list so i will just go with one of those. Its disappointing but nothing else i can do.
