Thank you for the detailed review. My only question is, would it fit my 15" work laptop?
@@armando19 I haven’t measured it or tested with a laptop but I am sure it would. 15” isn’t that big for a laptop and this backpack is pretty large.
Where did you get it?
@@davisdeja77 I ordered mine from Revzilla.
This moto has 140 hp not 124.
@@sonarfleet2375 In the US we don’t get a claimed HP figure so I put a real dyno result.
pretty much all i want to see is the acceleration and u cut all the pulls
@@archsys307 oops! If you check out my First Ride video on the 500 I think I left a lot more of the “pulls” in there.
The transmission on mine is absolutely driving me crazy. Shifting from 2nd to 3rd, 50% of the time I miss it and stay in 2nd. I have to really concentrate and really kick it up in order to move from 2nd to 3rd. Any thoughts on what I can do about that?
@@willmcclintock are you trying to short shift it too much? Try shifting around 6k or 7k and see if the bike likes it better. I also read about people putting a shifter brace on so that there is less wiggle in the mechanics of the shift. I haven’t done that and honestly I haven’t run into any problems recently.
@@SocalMotoRx Good suggestion. I'll try revving it higher. Thanks!
I hate the 40th anniversary colours 😩
I just ordered the same exhaust for my 500. Do you like it better then the stock? Lol
@@clever805 oh man. It’s so much better! I couldn’t even hear the original one.
any vibrations after install of the Leo Vinci exhaust?
@@gswcowboy I haven’t noticed any difference in vibrations but I’m also using the thicker seat. I’m pretty sensitive to vibrations though and I’ve had no numbing in the hands or anything like that.
Great review. My two favorite things about the bike are the anytime torque and the comfortable riding position. I love everything about this bike.
Hey question, I have a go pro hero 12 and I can’t for the life of me figure out how people like you get the footage to look as fast as it feels so to speak. What’s your method here? Any tips? Much appreciated and I appreciate the video man!
@@phillipgilligan8168 I’m also using the Hero 12 here. I was going to say look into ND filters but in this video I’m not using a filter. It’s just regular GoPro at 30fps and 4k. It might be the jump cuts that make it feel faster. If you watch my z900rs review I am using ND filters on that one and the footage feels much faster. ND filters give you motion blur. I use the polar pro filters.
A fantastic review, thank you from the UK.

What’s the name of the song in the beginning
TrackTribe - Flying
@@7IL3NN thank you. It’s a free use song on RUclips and it’s really good so I wanted to give them credit but I forgot which one it was.
You made a comment about 10 more horsepower can you elaborate? Good looking bike
@@DaddyFromTn I was just joking about the squirtle sticker adding 10hp
Is it too loud? Thinking about doing this to mine in the future but don’t want it to be obnoxious riding thru the neighborhood. Thanks.
It depends what you think is too loud. I don’t like obnoxiously loud exhaust and this is definitely loud but not at my limit. If I didn’t do the ECU flash I would have left it stock. I think the stock was the perfect noise level but this isn’t too loud to enjoy.
Ok thank you 👍
Zero Gravity Double Bubble or Sport Touring windscreens work really well!
I’m afraid the double bubble will be just as tall as this factory tall screen and end up with the wind at the same height. Did you put one on your Ninja 500?
@@SocalMotoRx No, I have a Ninja 400 and put the Sport Touring screen on it. I’m 6’2” and it keeps the wind off below my chin and almost completely off my shoulders (depending on the wind direction)! I’ve just heard from several other riders they liked their double-bubble (albeit they were shorter than me).
@@Rickmac22 oh that sounds perfect then. Do you have the stock seat or high seat? Thanks for all the info.
@@SocalMotoRx I added the Ergo seat (Kawasaki OEM) aka. comfort seat… it really helps!
That’s so awesome. Getting mine soon!
It will definitely roar when you do!
On the topic of those “you’ll outgrow it in a few months” guys, I noticed they will always say when a bike is too small but they never mention what a proper size is. I’ve ridden everything from 50cc - 950cc and had a blast on everything.
Exactly! I always say they are different tools for different jobs. For zipping around town and acting like a buffoon I like a small light weight bike. When I really want to log some miles and tour I want some weight and a ton of horsepower. Variety is the spice of life!
You have literally sold this 😂. Im putting cash on one tomorrow morning. Were I am riding heat definitely isn't the issue (Hence why oxford heated grips fitted to my 500 lol). Can't wait for it to arrive
@@jamesgeorgevellavella1961 haha you are gonna run out of money! Several new bikes and a ton of airbags! Hope you guys are having fun!
Your a legend bro. I'm also happy seeing you have proper riding gear. I just bought Denessie air bag jacket and was literally looking at buying this back pack. I have a small 40th anniversary collection (x2 500, zx4rr, zx6r). Having a back pack and air bag is perfect for me. I was also looking at Alpine stars Tech 10 air bag system (Australia you can't get airbag pants).
In my country Norway the spec for 2024 engine is 104.5 kW {142 HK} 10,000 rpm and 111 N•m {11.3 kgf•m} 8,000 rpm. Maybe diffrent in your country?
@@Steen6319 claimed horsepower is at the crank where as a dyno will give you the true horsepower at the wheel. The result is from drivetrain losses. It’s common for bikes to have less horsepower at the wheels than what is claimed. I couldn’t find a claimed HP for 2024 or a dyno result for it so I used one from 2020.
@@SocalMotoRx I know my friend, as a biker for 44 years I read from the book given from the factory of the bike, not from a privat dyno. When I am in a shop and look or buy a bike, I am not presented with numbers from a dyny, but from factory. All bikes are measured at the crank, and are presented so. Thank you and ride safe.
8:30 Wow thats a huge Sun you have over there
Hoping to get this dream bike.
I feel so comfortable riding this bike. The position is great. I love the anytime torque , and power . The brakes and shocks are good. This bike feels light and nimble. The mirriors are good . I like both the lights on on low beam also,I love this bike.
@@clayharrison8889 that’s a better review than I did 😂
Australia gets 2years unlimited mileage Kawasaki warranty but I think USA gets 12mth warranty so that's why I don't want upgrade even though im 45hp not 51hp (Euro 5 BS in Aus)
I have 2024 kawasaki Z900RS I have been riding for almost 60 years now this is my favorite motorcycle out of all motorcycle I have had
Daaaanng we all hope to ride for that long. It is a hoot to ride. Have fun!
Video in California made me glad I live in NY. That westernsun was brutal. We have shade to ride in. My ZX4RR stays cool and sounds the same. See ya.
That’s why my wind noise was so loud. I was wearing the HJC V60 with tinted sun visor and peak visor so I could tilt my head down to block the sun if needed. I think my camera settings exaggerated how big the sun actually was 😅
Have you ridden the CFmoto 450ss? A good comparison.
No I have never been on a CFMoto.
great info. thank you.
@@lcra7716 no worries. There wasn’t an abundance of info on these when I was looking so I wanted to throw some opinions out for others. Thanks
I joined all of the 40th anniversary family. Finally my 40th bikes arriving (yesterday had 1000km service after 2 days owning lol but @ 750km on her). I am now living my dreams and what a difference a month can make (own multiple 40th bikes now literally and wife got licence last week and is riding with me. I REALLY don't think life can get better for me although Tatts lotto would be a bonus)
The GPS is the reason it can't go off under 15MPH (and the reason it won't go off accidentally as much). Great video, thanks for posting it!
@@tomcopsey3571 right on! Thanks for the info.
Does this bike feel heavy? I mean 500lbs is no joke
@@SWTVENOM it felt surprisingly light to me. Definitely not like the Ninja 500 but it didn’t feel like a pig. That day I had ridden my BMW K1600GTL to the demo truck and it felt a million times smaller. If you are going to use it for any kind of touring I don’t think you would want it any lighter.
I put on a full yoshi exhaust, cut air box, put velocity stacks and dna Ari filter. I used a commander and had it tuned. I now make 61 horsepower and 39 torque. I’m not sure how say you would only gain 5hp?
I said if it gives you 10% increase to flash it then you would get 5hp. You got a 20% increase. That’s great!
Lovin my ninj 500. Those demo routes are really nice though! lol
@@Sayo.451 yeah riding around Laguna Seca was definitely the best demo route I have been on.
Cool bike for a cool California guy! A wind cover for that microphone might help… Great looking bike!
@@Rickmac22 cool stuff!!I was wearing my retro style open helmet so that’s why I had so much wind.
You and i close to same size im 6'2 230, how does z900 feel to you.
@@williamduckworth305 The RS version feels big to me. It’s not too big for me but I could see being a little taller and not being bothered by the size of the bike. Once you adjust the preload on the shocks it will sit higher than stock.
Beautiful bike! I hope you don’t mind me asking a few questions. Did you have the chance to see the Z900 Special Edition? If so, what did you think of it? Thank you.
@@creed426 sorry for the late reply. Yeah I saw it and it looks great! I’m partial to my blue obviously but having the ohlins shocks and the yellow paint would be great!
So the decals should be under the clear coat on the tank. I would still be careful with a heat gun. PS I have the KRT edition!
@@GamersWorld22 Thank you! I actually replaced the tank grips yesterday. I went easy on the heat gun and they came right off.
I love my SX)
I keep coming back to this as my next bike. I have an 04 FZ1 and Yamaha doesn't really make that kind of bike anymore (Tracer GT is an adv bike in sport tourer clothes and the MT is too naked). I would get panniers with it too. Also the most fun Iv had on a motorcycle was during my riders course zipping around on a little 400 so I agree with you there. I cant afford 2 bikes so I wouldn't buy one but man are little bikes fun.
@@ninji5226 yeah it was really nice. It made me question if it would be worth trading my z900rs for one. My RS just looks too good to trade but on pure riding this SX was amazing.
An interesting review. I've owned a '21 Z900RS from new and have been thinking about trading it for a 1000SX for a while now. I'm an older man (maybe like your Father!) so the one thing that's holding me back is the more sporty riding position. My riding is now purely recreational, typically less than 200miles. However, my back and knees don't bend like they used to. Otherwise, what's not to love?
@@sjk8273 I also own a z900rs and have a review of it on the channel. I think the seating positions are very similar on both of these bikes. I wouldn’t worry about it being too sporty. Have you sat on one yet?
@@SocalMotoRx I have and thought it felt more leant forward with (slightly) more weight on my wrists. However, that might have been it just being 'different'. When I sat on my RS again it felt like I'd come home. And then there's the hike in insurance ...😳I'll check out your RS review now. Cheers!
I am 54 and am no athlete. I rode mine from Dublin to Killarney (150 miles) and back last week and I am gonna do it again next week. I use the old roads cos motorway is boring. I never used to do such long trips on my other bikes as It could be tiring. Part of the reason was great trout i caught))). Buy the bike I say))
@@jimmymcjimmyvich9052 I did that drive a couple years back. Beautiful drive and would have been much nicer on a bike! Doing the Ring of Kerry on a bike would be a blast! Maybe next time I visit your amazing country!
@@jimmymcjimmyvich9052 I appreciate your thoughts. The last hurdle is the hike in insurance .. my current provide (Geico) wants an additional $1,500 for the SX and it's the same with all the other quotes I've got. Maybe it's an age-related algorithm as I turn 65 in 2 weeks. The only way I can afford it is to just go liability only. Cheers!
I just got a 2024 ninja1000sx about two weeks ago, it's a great bike! I love it. I live in Alabama, I put about 1300 miles on it doing short rides so far.
@@clayharrison8889 that’s some good mileage in two weeks!
That's a lot of short rides to get that many miles!
I love the paint on these 40th ninjas. Theres a 500 available near me still im on the fence. Pls make a comment on this bike
Great bike I have the 2024 and added full aropovick exhaust and an ECU tune . Nothing but joy
@@MojoCycle man I’m sure that Akrapovic really wakes it up!
I own this exact Bike, same colors, 2024 as well. I traded in a Concours 14 for it & for my tastes and riding likes the N1K is a better bike...excellent machine.
Yeah it was a fun ride. I’m sure going from the big Concourse to the SX makes it feel super light and nimble. It’s a great value for the price too.
Beautiful bike. Hopefully I have one in a month
I put a deposit on one last week. Hopefully it arrives as other dealers saying no hope that there are any new left. One way to find out. This colour scheme is perfect to me and id happily buy x2
@@jamesgeorgevellavella1961 yeah hopefully it works out. I heard the same thing here in the US about there not being any more shipments after they sold their current batch. I wasn’t sure if that was a sales tactic or not but if you heard it too it might be true.
@@SocalMotoRx I literally got one yesterday. I've had to pay over $1100 delivery (wasn't in my state). I am so happy I can't put into words
@@jamesgeorgevellavella1961 Hell yeah congrats! The delivery is worth it if it’s the one you wanted. I know for me it was totally worth it to get a fun color. I’m so tired of boring colors!
