Seeing these vids makes me want to start detecting again. Used to do it with my dad as a kid. The coolest thing we found was my grandfathers gold wedding ring that he lost when when my dad was a kid. Right in his backyard where he had a garden at one time. My grandfather had passed some 15 years before we found it and we gave it to my uncle, dads brother.
Idaman71044 Great story about the ring! Detecting is really fun and it clears the mind. You don't even need a lot of cash to get started. I can hook you up with a new machine. Just let me know your budget when your ready? Take care.
Great video, awesome finds. I like watching the videos when you use your Tosoro Compadre, that's what I use. But you do make that e-track look enticing. Keep it up!
Just got myself a Tesoro Compadre, it's not fancy but I am finding coins like crazy! Thanks for the videos, you guys have inspired me to go ahead and try. I found a Civil War coat button my first day, I'm hooked.
+Sarasota RainBarrels Awesome! The Compadre is a super machine. I waterproofed a Compadre that I use for my water hunting videos. Check them out. Congratulations on your button!!
I am with you on places not being hunted out. In the last month I have dug 10 silvers with an Ace250 from an old village school that has been detected hundreds of times. You just have to hit spots slowly and in places nobody thinks a coin would be - especially along the extreme perimeter. I now have a 1905 mint state Barber quarter to brag about that will be graded soon :)
+sandman4224 Sweet! It sounds like your in tune with your 250 for sure. That's a bug part of being successful. The Sniper coil on the Ace 250 make a killer combo if you haven't tried one.. I would love to see a photo of your 1905 Barber.... Thanks for watching!
Oh no! You zingo'd the bingo! I know that feeling really well, I blew up my nicest Merc of the year, a beautiful 1931 with a scratch straight across the face. I had dug a few memorials at the same length so got a little lazy... Great finds though!
It sucks how scratching a nice coin almost overshadows the find. I scratched my first barber dime(1911) and also a rosey. I can only try to pinpoint bttr, and dig bigger plugs for bigger silver. Great find, and HH
Hoosier Diggin Some I think I pinpointed another object because I was way off. Usually if I think it's silver I'll cut a little larger plug. But I didn't do it on this one!
Since I've owned an e-trac, I've found that I prefer that other hunters hit spots...they clear out all the shallow modern stuff and leave the old deep stuff to us. Great hunt!
Sweet silver! Still hoping to find my 1st barber quarter! Only found 2 barber dimes so far, 1 SLQ no date, plenty of other newer silver, mercs, rosies washington quarters etc with my ctx, been out of hunting the past year but getting back to it. Good hunt! Love that v nickle too still on my list!
Very well done video. Very informative. I have a new AT pro that is not producing and notice a lot of guys swinging the Etrac and getting good results. I think the Etrac is in my future. Thx, and HH
I have an Atpro as well. It likes to be ran in pro - zero mode with the iron disc set at 35. Try this and see how it works? But yes the etrac is king of deep coins especially silver. But my Atpro has it's place as well. The etrac and Atpro makes an excellent combo.
Hey there Mower Dog, I've learned more useful things from You and Bill than all my years of detecting. That's 38 years plus. Bye the way Kenny is Bill sick or something? The last time I caught him was on the video where he was comparing the F-19 and the F-75. Y'all were having so much fun diggin at each other. Thanks for the tremendous education, and I will be contacting You when I upgrade my Explorer! GL and HH
+Allen allenKoellner Thanks a lot. Bill and I were real busy the last year and didn't get together as much as in the past. We plan on doing several water hunts this year. So stay tuned.
livinright Give it a try and let me know how it works for ya? My nickel notch is 10/11 down to 13/11 then over to 10/13 down to 13/13. Then I open the right side up from 1/39 down to 27/39 then over to 1/48 down to 48/27. You will be surprised just how many good targets shine through. Make sure you have deep and fast OFF. Also make sure you have trash set to high and ground set to difficult. These 4 adjustments are super for any disc pattern you run.
WTG, mowerdog! Had a nice hunt and then your wife feeds you, too! Good call on that iffy merc. About that scratch; throw that thing in a drawer and then buy the prettiest barber quarter you can find; put in in plain sight so you can admire it whenever you walk by. That should heal your pain!
Nice finds. The other detectorists must be "amateurs" with "inferior equipment" huh? My dad and I have been hunting that park for 20+ years and still pull coins out every time we go. We just wanted to save some for you other guys so you could make these sweet vids ;) I run an AT Pro and my dad runs a DFX. It's a great park. I recommend the local BBQ.
+nosboy3702 Thanks for leaving me some silver! I had to say something on camera and maybe it wasn't exactly the right wording! Yikes... I fancy Porky's BBQ (Buckner Tarsney and Colburn) over the local BBQ joint. Have you tried it?
I also own a Minelab E-Trac. The recovery time is slow and horrible. I finally gave up on it and returned using my Fisher F75. Just want to find out how long did you use the e-Trac before getting familiar with it.
I took to the etrac within one hour. I loved it from the start. I thought it was easy to set up and use. Before you write the etrac off as being slow please watch my other video here - ruclips.net/video/GM9lD8YBXGs/видео.html
+Jimmy Scarborough Here they are. One pair will last a year. +Mr85scooter You'll have to help me narrow down the choices. I can usually make a suggestion on three questions. Where will you be hunting? What will you be hunting? Dollar amount of budget? Don't forget to budget in a Pinpointer if possible.
+mowerdog Well... I live in PA so it probably wont ever see any beach action unless we went on vacation. I guess I would mainly be using it on creek banks, swimming holes, fairgrounds, property sites with old houses/building and stuff like that. As far as what will I be hunting... coins, jewelry, and things of that nature. In regards of dollar amount of budget... That is kind of a hard question for me to answer. To be completely honest... I have no experience of what a good metal detector or pin pointer is so I have no clue what I'm looking for as far as price for a good one. I would like to say between $150 and $200, am I dreaming thinking that I can get a quality unit in that price range? If so I would be willing to go a bit higher if it was justifiably worth it. Either way I'm going to have to save up for awhile to obtain one.
Really a good Pinpointer is a must have tool. They alone will run you around 120. The machines I would suggest are the Fisher F2 or F22 to keep the price down and still get good results. If your budget was a little higher I would suggest the ATpro since your going to be hunting streams.
Where do you live? I am in the Arkansas River Valley in of course, Arkansas. Thanks you for your great videos and your incredibly fast reply to my question. Keep Swinging! Patch

you gave it a good scratch! great finds! Happy Diggin!
Digging Australia I'm glad it was a pretty worn Barber. Thanks for watching!
Very nice finds! Thanks for sharing the hunt
Thanks for watching!
WOW!!! Beautiful barber, Kenny!!! I was hearing that super high tone thinking; "That's gotta be silver!" Sweet, K man :)

+Treasure Hunting Tips I know that you know the sound! Thanks Joe..
Great hunt, and nice quarter! That's a nice old Park. Take care, GL&HH!
Detecting207 I should have hit that park 30 years ago!!! Take care..
Oh that scratch hurts! I know how you feel but the pain goes away in a few days, Lol. Nice hunt and video.

Really enjoyed your video thanks for sharing, I'm sure u enjoyed finding them even more congrats RICH
lookin4zinc I like finding silver when there shouldn't be any left. Thanks for watching!
Okay I felt sorry for you and subscribed.! Fun hunt. Thanks for sharing... I did notice those plugs started to look larger...
It always hurt to scratch Silver. Still sick about it.... Thanks for the comment and sub!!
I have some trashy parks that I'm going to use your snipe program in. Thanks for another informative video!
stevengolfs I posted the numbers of the program under Livinright's conversation below. Good luck and let us know how it works for you?
mowerdog Got it...thank you!
Still a great find even with the bummer scratch
Thanks. I've been more careful since this scratched coin.
Super nice! But man I feel your pain, been there.
If it had been a clad coin I would never had touched it!! LOL
Oh man, ouch on the barber but it happens sometimes. Thanks for the video. HH
Yeah - I'm still not over it! LOL.....

beautiful Barber Quarter and yes that is annoying to scratch it still an awesome find
+Dumpsite Digger Thanks! The scratch still bothers me though.......
I feel your pain man. I have only found 2 silver halves while detecting and scratched them both.

It happens! Your not alone...LOL
+mowerdog everything found with a metal detector is worth something. I throw all my junk in buckets and sell it for scrap.
Damn shame. Gotta give those silver signals a wide berth.
Greg Ruhland Deepsilver I hear ya! After 3 weeks I'm finally able to sleep. LOL
I only have a ace150 but for now its all I can afford. its fun but I've only found two silver Roosevelt's. guess I need to dig it all..

No problem. I really thank you for taking the time to watch my videos!

Look under my reply to "livinright" for the pattern.
Got it! Thanks! Got my Etrac and Sunray probe today. Now I just have to wait for it to stop raining... which should be in May sometime lol.

+kardro1 It certainly is! Are you into detecting?
nice hunt but I'm a whites v3i guy shoots deep and is on target good luck

no doubt! my detector was recently stolen :(. Turned sn# into police but no luck yet. and its gettin chilly here in jeff city!
+Ty West Sorry about your detector. That is too sad man..... All those guys have to do is pull the serial tag off the detector. I have hunted in Jeff City. What kind of detector did you have?
You have to be very careful or somebody will Snake your spots.
+LyudmilaRGVK You are correct!
that'll make your heart sink

Great job on murdering the Barber! I've never done that before. (Said NO ONE! Lol!) Good hunt man. Enjoy your vids but don't like those "wharble/flute" tones of that Minelab! You can set the tones to something other than multi. 1, 2 and 4. No warble or flute.
I just continued to watch and you keep showing the screen of the detector and telling what you see, I can't see what your saying screen won't show, I would like to learn more so can you check out the"viewing" screen, and fix that , thanks.
I'll look into it. Thanks for watching!
clean up properly dude
Thanks!
