so, you may see that here not all their moments together but it because not all their scenes have "old married couple" energy
I'm planning to do a video "garashir being garashir" so let me know, which moments of them you would like to see

@@Krocxigor Even in Dax's case, there was outrage over that scene. Also, there's a general perception that gay women are more "acceptable" than gay men. Putting acceptable in air quotes because while they are affected by homophobia, lesbianism is usually fetishised so it's this weird thing where gayness in women isn't viewed as bad as in men. Even in some countries where homosexuality is criminalised, it's only between men where it's applied whereas women are considered more like antisocial behaviour

@kevinphoenix2007 It's one actor who chose to play one character as ambiguously gay on a show with only one other confirmed LGBT character. That's pretty far from making "everything" gay. Meanwhile, there are dozens of explicit straight romances on the show, but you don't find that to be inappropriate. Just say you're homophobic and move on.

If you’re not Kirk, Spock, or McCoy, you’re no one. TNG. . .more actors get more. .profiles. But DS9 is about Cisco and Voyager about Janeway. Yet, even in a world about the black guy or the white woman, you can still have your own independent lives. It’s all about these ‘minor’ characters quite often on DS9 and Voyager. It could be a bit like ‘lower decks’. We see more about what life would be like as part of the Federation for normal people.

It was 100% implied. The documentary on DS9, "What We Left Behind" confirms it 100% from both the actors and writer's perspective. The actors also did a reading of a fanfic where they were a married couple.

I don't consider them gay. Bashir was straight for sure, and Garak's behavior was always manipulative. While I think to some level Garak does like Bashir, in their last encounter with each other, Garak seems uncomfortable with him being around, and rather dismissive. Someone once described Garak as "job-sexual", and I think that's at least kind of right -- Garak always pursues the person most likely to benefit him. He friends up to Bashir because Bashir is a doctor/friendly/making Federation connections, and he has a relationship with Ziyal because it pisses off Dukat.

The actor for Garak has said multiple times in multiple interviews that he specifically played Garak as a queer man infatuated with Bashir. Both actors agree on the couple. They even voiceacted an 'episode' during the quarantine where the two reunited. Men can be best friends; these two men weren't played as such, though.

You're right and it's sad, but as @moldymulder said, Andrew Robinson did say that he played Garak as a queer man infatuated with Bashir (good taste, btw). So in a way, they WERE a couple. This video IS brilliant too.

@@SpookMrsSpooky Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't have complained, because with DS9 in that era it wouldn't be the 'look how gay we are', unnatural in your face nonsense of this era. It would have been handled with decorum and good taste, like the rest of the romances in ST of the time.
But the character was not written that way, and all I ever saw were two good friends from very different worlds. To me, it was more about how friendship can happen between people of radically different backgrounds and cultures.

honestly the need to do this is beyond weird as there's more chemistry between O'brien and Bashir than Garak.

@@mira_ashhh I did the worst thing for a youtube video, I watched 30 seconds of it and moved away after downvoting.
It helps kill the video through the algorithm spread, it would register this as being dissatisfied and unwanted by the community.
