Thank you! The channa and bhajee is so good! It's something I just threw together one day and it was great. I love it when I fast because it's hearty and filling.
I am addicted to your channel. Your patties were because your recipe in the meat preparation was perfect. I can was the chicken with lemon and vinegar which is difficult with minced meat. My daughter, who has a degree in math, said that's quite clever as she love patties. Thank you. You're motivating me to try.
Matthew this looks soooo delicious..I will have to try my hand at this!.you've been really motivating me..I tried your bake recipe last night..turned out lovely🙌🏾 Tfs
Hey tnxs for ur video it give me courage to make aloo roti once again n this time it came out perfect all of my roti swell up great n taste great thank u very much
@@matthewsguyanesecooking4601 cooking is trial and error until you get it to your perfection. You did a really good job for your first time! I forwarded your video to my son because he loves aloo roti so he can learn to make it too.
I admire when a cook admits his or her mistakes. We all have our bad episodes in the kitchen.....I am definitely when of those ppl. U did an awesome job....looks delicious 😋
Matthew!!!! I am making this tonight!! Great tip on rolling the roti on a board. The first time I made this, I filled the roti too much and the potato got stuck on my counter top 😂. What a mess! Great recipe😋😋😋
Matthew I watched your video on just roti do u have to oil it twice or can you add the oil to the flour and just do it that way. By the way are you in Halifax I would buy some off you
I know this is a very un Guyanese thing to ask but do you guys have any idea how much calories one of this roti would have using the above roti. My mom wants to make this but I'm on a diet and I LOVE potato roti.
Hmmm Im not sure. You can possibly say it is like 1/3-1/2 cup flour per roti and about 1/4 cup potato and about 3 tsp. Oil for each. And some salt. The other ingredients don't really have significant calories (onions, scallions, pepper, geera, etc). Hope that helps a bit
You are probably over filling the potato or not draining it enough. That usually happens when that mixture is too wet. Also it happens if the dough it too stiff. Also if you overstuff or aren’t gentle enough when you roll it. It definitely take a lot of practice. As you saw on the video some of mine were bursting too.
Matthew, I made this for dinner. It was amazing! Thank you for sharing!
Awesome! So happy to hear

@@matthewsguyanesecooking4601 welcome !! Ur video help me alot not jus the aloo roti ..... continue the good job u doing
Nothing wrong with it popping out the edge, it means you rolled it well and the edges aren't thick with no filling. Good job ❤

What is the name of the thing that you put on your seasoning in?
A mortar and pestle
How many cups of water for the dough?
Depends on the amount of flour, type of flour and the humidity/etc.
Do u warm the water first or is it just pipe water?
Pipe water but make sure it's on the warm setting as it comes out
Matthew I watched your video on just roti do u have to oil it twice or can you add the oil to the flour and just do it that way. By the way are you in Halifax I would buy some off you
Hey you need to oil it twice for the layers and flakiness. Lol no I live in FL sorry. Thanks for watching
Hi one quick question do you clap the roti or not
Not this kind
I know this is a very un Guyanese thing to ask but do you guys have any idea how much calories one of this roti would have using the above roti. My mom wants to make this but I'm on a diet and I LOVE potato roti.

@@matthewsguyanesecooking4601 Hello this does help alot thank you!
@@jason22212225 no problem
Help pls !!! My child loves potato roti but when I stuff it w the potato and roll it out it burst!!!

Also if you overstuff or aren’t gentle enough when you roll it. It definitely take a lot of practice. As you saw on the video some of mine were bursting too.
Hmmmm so delicious....but OMG when you were cutting your seasoning I was holding my fingers...... 😜😜😜
🤣🤣🤣 yeh I did the same when I rewatched it.
My roti always buss too.
Did not know that is was because of overcooking the aloo and the water content.
Nice! Tip: if you use less water for cooking potatoes, you will loose less vitamins and minerals
So unlike aloo choka the only thing you didn't add was oil??
It really is aloo choka that is stuffed inside. I don’t make aloo choka with oil I usually put a little butter.
Matthew why did you share this video. My O my im loosing my mind gosh love this recipe i don't eat any meat. Thank you so much. Nuff love
Can you make roti using self rising flour?
No because there is too much baking powder in the self rising flour.
I was so scared when you were cutting the potatoes!
lol
Dog nrar food yak
Hi Matthew is it possible if u can do white/black pudding?
Yes I am working on that one.
Thank u very much
