  • First trip around the pond with my new St. Croix Trigon 6'8" MXF casting rod. I threw the Nikko craw & whopper plopper. It also had enough tip to work a spook well (not shown). First impressions are this rod has a soft enough tip for light finesse techniques, but doesn't feel like it's going to get broken throwing a heavier Whopper Plopper/Spook style bait.

I have the previous mojobass 7’1” MHF and I love it I was working out of town and got this new triangle grip and really didn’t like the grip I appreciate the round thicker older grip. I returned it next day and paid a little more and got the legend tournament bass 7’1” MHF maybe works form someone else but I didn’t like the trigon

is it worth $200? contemplating putting a curado dc on one. is the triangle grip comfortable when palming the reel? some people say it isn’t. and is it sensitive and responsive? thanks

      Sensitive and responsive - yes!
The triangle grip... ehhhhhh. Don't love it, don't hate it. To me the sharp angle is right where my palm hits.. but it's not bad. It wouldn't be THE factor to me in buying or not buying it.
I'd absolutely buy it again for it's sensitivity and soft tip that gives me the ability to really fling light stuff a long way. It's definitly one of my favorite rods, and probably the favorite in it's price point.
      Hope this helps!
