Four thousand fans walked over the bridge as flags of the 32 competing nations were carried onto the stage to hear a preview of the tournament’s official song, ‘Unity Beat’, amidst live cultural performances and presentations. The Unity Jersey design reflects the vibrant local landscapes and rich colours of the two host countries.
Among those who walked across the closed bridge were a group of former players. The tournament opens on 20th July when New Zealand take on Norway at Eden Park, followed by Australia against the Republic of Ireland at Sydney's Olympic Stadium
