  • Hi everyone!
    So this is the final part of my "Commando" build series from Halo Reach. I'm redoing some of the sanding by trying out glazing spot putty, wet sanding, and finally getting to the weathering! It's been a fun two months working on this, but I'm very satisfied with the final look. I thank all of you who have been keeping up with this! Please let me know what other helmets you'd like to see in the near future in the comments below!
    Here is the link to the shop I purchased the model from: www.aguilarwor...

    Mini painter here. Highlighting the edges to achieve a similar result as sanding them in your case to make it really pop is a method we use for our tiny army men.
    Also we use washes as well, but I might go for a more watered down mixture.

    The final product looks so good! I'm curious if this might work for my project as I'm running into the same issue of using cans and cans of spray primer. My build is made of foam and I'm currently working on the legs and arm sections, and I was wondering if spot putty would adhere and work nicely on flexible surfaces. For my markvii helmet I've been using wood filler and that has been working great, but I'm worried applying it to high contact parts would just chip right away. What would you have to say about that?

    • @isaacdprojects
      @isaacdprojects  Год назад +1

      I hear you, I’ve tried foam clay/putty for EVA foam in the past and it’s worked alright? I’d look into that more if I were you since it provides more flex but has the some of the same sanding characteristics of spot putty. Which is great for rigid things like 3D prints, but that Foam clay/putty you’ll probably have more success with. Hope this helps!

    beautiful work mate
    gonna get a 3d printer soon and thinking of making some ODST gear
    What material is used for the visor? Do you reckon it'd be able to be used for the ODST Visor (with it's weird bits at the front) like in the ODST game?
    Edit: Just found your visor video xd

    • @isaacdprojects
      @isaacdprojects  7 месяцев назад

      Haha🤣 Sorry for the late reply, but yes the material is in the other video. For an ODST visor I’ve seen people have luck using a hair dryer to form it around a buck? But I myself just got a vacuum former to try and get them done since it has those creases
