    I got very fine linen oil primed and fine cotton canvas glued to plywood i guess those both are ok for this type of painting

    If you put together an in-depth explanation video of your process I would 100% but it

    Does Bougourou prime his canvases with a color as an underpainting, or start out on a white canvas ?

      I’ve seen photos of him at work and unfinished canvases that seem to show a light gray or off white ground. Not really sure tbh.

    What fine brushes are you using?

    • @olddirtymasters
      @olddirtymasters  3 года назад +2

      Nylon liners with some hairs removed to make them finer.

    What's the acrylic primed linen you worked on? Would like to try it, unless it's super expensive lol

    • @olddirtymasters

      This was done on a scrap of Artfix linen. It is on the expensive side but I found a smaller off-cut for sale so I didn’t have to purchase a full yard.

      @@olddirtymasters Yeah, yikes, expensive. Thanks for the reply though! Great job on the painting.

    Is it oil or acrylic paint? great work!!!

      Def have to use oil for something like this. Something that stays wet and blends is essential. Oil is what Bouguereau himself used and that’s what you’ll see used in every hyper-smooth old master painting.
