I have one. First it was ok. The active carbon layer did absorbed the smell, but also trapped the smell and releasing some sort of leftover odor from it overtime. Personally feel its not recommended if you have it functioning 24hrs or placing it near kitchen space. It will absorb cooking odor or food smell but the smell trapped in between the layers will stay and lingers overtime. You will need to change the filter in less than 3 months. However, for bedroom clean air effect, this works fine.
The filters will require a more frequent replacement if you use them in high polluted places such as the kitchen. The reason is that this Xiaomi doesn't have brilliant carbon filters, such are on the Winix 5500-2 or Alen FLEX air purifiers. Thanks for sharing your experience.
Lol, air purifiers in or near kitchens is like a torture test for any air purifier. I ise Xiaomi strictly for bedrooms only. If you want to use an air purifier for TV room or near kitchen, you must get a filter without carbon filtering. You can also put the Xiaomi filter in the sun for about 6 hours, which will allow all volatile organic gases to escape the filter due to high temperature of the sun.
i use it as a fan too lol, since the unit doesnt have gyro or tip over sensor, it still works even if it is on its side , so during summer (as it is now here), i can just point the top at my bed put it side way, the best part is you can schedule it in the app so ill have a nice comfortable night while have little to none noise. i know it is a bit of stretch, but works.
Why use an expensive equipment like that? Maybe it works on the side, but who knows what effect does that have on the fan blades, maybe the ball bearings will wear out faster, even if it's moved just by milimeters... A small fan costs maybe 5€, there are even USB fans for less money..

I'm planning to place it on my computer desk, and turn it on everytime i smoke a cigarette. I smoke a pack daily, so around 20 cigarettes, and i would turn the device on for around 10 minutes everytime. Do you think the filter will last me at least 6 months this way, or possibly more? Will the purifier collect the smoke immediately if it's close around 50cm? Or would you suggest me another kind of purifier? Thanks!

Can you please help me, I have this purifier and Xiaomi humidifier. When only my purifier works I get excellent quality air, bellow 30AQI but as soon as I turn the humidifier on the quality of air gets worse, over 100. And I dont keep them near eachother. Can you please advise me how to use them, should I first use the humidifier to get the desired humidity and after that turning it off and powering on the purifier? Thank you
Are you using tap water? Usually it's recommended to use distilled water for humidifiers. The reason is, tap water has calcium, magnesium and other stuff in it. The humidifier will spray these particles into the air and the purifier will detect it as pollution. Especially if your home has a hard tap water, then the calcium and magnesium will be in high amounts. You can check this with a cheap TDS meter, but if you have limescale deposits on your kitchen appliances and dishes, then your water is probably hard. So i suggest use distilled water. I know this because of growing cannabis, when using a humidifier with tap water it creates a white dust like powder, all from the calcium and magnesium, and most growers start panicking because they think it's mold/mildew.

You won't go wrong with any of these two, but in my opinion, the Xiaomi is a bit better air purifier. You can read reviews of these two on the airpurifierfirst.com
I don't think it will work with the non-genuine filters. Xiaomi uses a filter that has an RFID chip built-in, it is like security for not using original filters.
Just received the 3C a few days ago for my home music studio. If you don't care about seeing the temperature and moisture and only care about "clean air and less dust". The 3C is perfect. No more dust on my music gear anymore and no more dust allergies. Cannot be happier!
The h in 3h stands for hepa and hepa is the best filter for the job. Not sure which filter they use in 3c, it might be the epa, which is inferior. Do some, research and you’ll find the answers you need
@@avetik32 Just for info. My 3C came with the "Hepa Filter", however, you have the option of getting an EPA filter too. But yes, it actually came with a "Hepa Filter" and it's working great! Just thought that I should mention this...
@@RodLevitonMusic yeah i guess it depends on the batch. Also i read u can basically install any filter you want in these models. Ordered the 3h for myself has to arrive today, hopefully it will help with dust issues i have (both breathing and furniture cleanliness)
If you’ve never used an air filter these are great. ruclips.net/user/postUgkx_dppjvjF8BYEmPSDTcgCUdRsgWYLXNHN I ended up with three after starting out with one. The noise level depends on the 1-3 settings with how hard you want the machine to work. You can also upgrade the filters and get one better for pet hair and smells which is a must have in my home. I noticed the air seemed lighter and easier to breathe when running the machine for the first time. Works great every time. Highly recommended!
The Xiaomi 3C is a cheaper model, but it has a lower CADR, a different display (not touch), and a smaller air output, which will make the ventilator pressure more powerful.
why didn't you tell average filter replacement costs? you said yourself that they make up the bigger share of the operating costs... Is it because the xiaomi would then lose? is this video sponsored?
No, this video is not sponsored. I personally bought the Xiaomi Mi 3H! I avoid mentioning prices because they change very often, and I do not want to put myself in a situation where I said in the video that the cost of replacement filters is $XX, and then after a while, the price jumps to $YY. If you watch other videos, you will see that I am not mentioning the filters price anywhere. Thanks!
@@AirPurifierFirst Appreciate the response, but then I think that you should remove the operating costs section entirely, simply because as it is now, it's not representative at all of operating costs and can be misleading. While I agree that filter prices can vary, so do energy prices; and despite the possible variation over time, I think the relative difference (when comparing 2+ products) should remain similar, so it can still be useful info. Or, if you want to keep the video part, rename it to something else. Like power consumption, but not operating costs. Thank you for your videos.
@@z3ro7o no. Laser sensor is terrible but can’t expect it to be amazing considering the price. An average Stand-alone pm testers are 4 times the price of the air purifier alone you can’t expect it to be amazing

@@Gregory_Rasmussen same here its cheap for me (SEA)
Great work
Thanks!
Is homekit compatible?
This or the Levoit Core 400s?
Thanks for the reviews btw. Very helpful!
Thanks for your comment.
I haven't tested the Levoit Core 400s yet, but I will very soon.
Frankly, the Core 400s is my pick among these two, and I think it is a better choice, but I will give a more comprehensive answer after I finish in-depth testing of the Core 400s.
@@AirPurifierFirstwhy core 400s? which part is better than xiaomi 3h? thanks a lot
@@AirPurifierFirst And actually core 400s is cheaper than xiaomi 3h lol (And in amazon, xiaomi 3h is 239$, is that a good price?
@@jiayiliu2860 thats very expensive price for 3h, normal price is about 90 euro for 3c and about 120 eur for 3h
@@jiayiliu2860 400s is about 42usd cheaper than mi pro H , but pro H has better coverage.. 400s is to be compared with pro H, not 3H since 3H is smaller version and are 75usd cheaper than 400s .. instead of 400s, i choose pro H for my living room
smartmi HEPA Air Purifiers vs Xiaomi Mi 3H which one is better?
You won't go wrong with any of these two, but in my opinion, the Xiaomi is a bit better air purifier. You can read reviews of these two on the airpurifierfirst.com
What the best air purifier under $90?
Ventilation
Will it still work with non genuine filters or if the filter says it needs replacing?
I don't think it will work with the non-genuine filters. Xiaomi uses a filter that has an RFID chip built-in, it is like security for not using original filters.
I read you can bypass the RFID verification somehow. It just won't be able to tell you if and when you need to change it
Just set mine up ... Hope it works good.
Yes, it does! Anyway, it would be nice if you could share your experience after some time!
And?
Can you do a review on mi 3C ?
Thanks for your suggestion! I plan to review the Pro version, the 3C is not planned for review right now.
Hi. Which one is better. Xiaomi 3c versus sharp air purifier
I haven't tested any model from Sharp air purifiers, so I can't give you the precise answer.
Please ,my air purifier 3H just shows MI logo with no information on it , what's the problem??
Did the fan start working? It seems like a technical problem. Have you contacted Xiaomi support yet?
@@AirPurifierFirst everything works flawlessly ,the only problem is the display doesn't show infos ,yes I contacted them a week ago but got no reply
Still thinking if it is still worth it for 3H today or just buy 3C, I can't decide.
Both are fabulous, so whichever you buy, you won't be wrong.
Internal carbon does not last..my carbon emit smell when my filter still has 80% lifespan
Hi, can you please wxplain the difference between 3H and 3C?
The Xiaomi 3C is a cheaper model, but it has a lower CADR, a different display (not touch), and a smaller air output, which will make the ventilator pressure more powerful.
Motor... Motor you ... .... An engine is something else entirely
why didn't you tell average filter replacement costs? you said yourself that they make up the bigger share of the operating costs...
@@Clodi95 Just do a little research on your own about filter prices if you're leaning towards buying this exact product.
What was the device name again? I think you should mention it more tbh.
it is in the title lol
40 db is not quite
It is not 40 dB, it is 40 dBA, which is a different measurement, and it includes the A noise levels scale.
@@AirPurifierFirst yeah thats what i meant. Other cheaper air purifiers produce 30 or even 25 dba in Silent mode
Which cheaper air purifiers are on your mind? Maybe I tested some of them and can compare them with Xiaomi side by side.
@@AirPurifierFirst boostiv and qumax for example boostiv lees than 35 and qumax less than 25
I read alot of problems with the sensor? On internet
Very bad PM 2.5 sensor
True, it's not the best, but it does a job well enough.
Yes have to agree the sensor is terrible
This not fixed? I tought its a firmware problem
@@z3ro7o no. Laser sensor is terrible but can’t expect it to be amazing considering the price. An average Stand-alone pm testers are 4 times the price of the air purifier alone you can’t expect it to be amazing
@@chefgav1 but is it good? Or waste of money
I did fart next to it . And believe me it disappeared immediately. Recommend it 👍
Haha, good one! Thanks for sharing your experience.
Seems loud as hell.
It's not much louder than competing air purifiers.
The engine produce CO2. So be aware.
