The southern part of china and south east asia were inhabited by early austro asiatic before sino tibet people arrived. These were likely early yue and nanman. They probably absorbed some of the eaely tibeto burmese or traded cultures. There must have been a strong contact between austroasiatic and sino tibet or austronesian that created another group, tai kradai. The people of southern china, southeast asia and even the pacific soon all have some similar aspect to these early austro asiatic. Orientals share a haplo group of eurasians. Maybe there were cross culture trade and contact with India but even the dna of North Eastern Indian Orientals as naga will show a large portion of Chinese, south east asian with some north east asian. They migrated there thousands of years ago. The only true inhabitants of south east asia are gone. Those are melenesian, papuan and aboriginals that crossed asia to get to the ocean as early african settlers.
I already found out that Wa actually Chinese genetically, descent from ancient Han (Sino Tibetan of yellow river), in distant past 5000 years ago some Chinese were black at that time because sun exposure on eastern Qinghai plateu and Yellow river valley , some still preserve this genetic as nowadays Wa.
There is a lot of similarity between this tribe n the naga tribe from north-east Nagaland, India. Wish someone take the initiative and do the research. The so called Naga in India also practice the tradition of head hunting
